I think the (very creepy but borderline biological) reason is that he was attracted to the egg, since women are born with all of the eggs they will produce in a lifetime. So Jacob has been attracted to Bella since he met her, probably. But sperm have shorter lifespans, like about 2.5-3 months from spermatogenesis to maturity. So Jacob probably wouldn't be feeling an attraction toward Edward...except possibly around the time of their wedding, since that was within 2.5-3 months before conception. So...that whole scene where he's pissed about them banging during their honeymoon? Jealous, much, my man Jacob? :D

In my second to last year of school, I had a class called "mythology in literature". It was sort of a prep class for university, where we learned how to properly work with sources and write term papers for the humanities. On the first day, our teacher came in: "VAMPIRES do NOT glitter! That encroaches on my worldview!" Good times... I loved that class.
While hilarious, a mythology teacher should know that mythology in literature is a living canon that continues to be added to. It may be ridiculous, but once Twilight became infamous it became a touchstone in vampire literature just as much as Nosferatu. Vampire and werewolf mythology in particular has no original version that has most of what we now consider staples of their myths; people kept adding to it through literature, movies and media, and some thing stuck while others faded away

I've suffered through these movies. 3 things I can't get over: the totally unrealistic post-Dawson's Creek depiction of teenagers, the cop-out that is making the epic battle jut a vision so none of the Cullens dies and the utter cop-out that is Renesmee (so that Jacob can have a happy ending).

And it's true he didn't move on for years, but a lot of people are like that and he was always a very quiet and reserved person, so it's easier to get depressed when you are always acting and thinking like that. Like Bella, he doesn't have good self confidence and dislikes a lot of attention. But overall, he's a sweet and caring father who is underrated in both the books and the movie, because unlike his daughter he has self-respect and standing
Growing up is realizing Edward was a bad choice, maturity is realizing Jacob was also a bad choice and wisdom is realizing the healthiest choice was Bella's platonic female friends and her relationship with her dad.

I think the (very creepy but borderline biological) reason is that he was attracted to the egg, since women are born with all of the eggs they will produce in a lifetime. So Jacob has been attracted to Bella since he met her, probably. But sperm have shorter lifespans, like about 2.5-3 months from spermatogenesis to maturity. So Jacob probably wouldn't be feeling an attraction toward Edward...except possibly around the time of their wedding, since that was within 2.5-3 months before conception. In my second to last year of school, I had a class called "mythology in literature". It was sort of a prep class for university, where we learned how to properly work with sources and write term papers for the humanities. On the first day, our teacher came in: "VAMPIRES do NOT glitter! That encroaches on my worldview!"
Good times... I loved that class.
While hilarious, a mythology teacher should know that mythology in literature is a living canon that continues to be added to. It may be ridiculous, but once Twilight became infamous it became a touchstone in vampire literature just as much as Nosferatu. Vampire and werewolf mythology in particular has no original version that has most of what we now consider staples of their myths; people kept adding to it through literature, movies and media, and some thing stuck while others faded away

And it's true he didn't move on for years, but a lot of people are like that and he was always a very quiet and reserved person, so it's easier to get depressed when you are always acting and thinking like that. Like Bella, he doesn't have good self confidence and dislikes a lot of attention. But overall, he's a sweet and caring father who is underrated in both the books and the movie, because unlike his daughter he has self-respect and standing

Ok but in mew moon after Edward left Bella spent that whole time trying to do things to kill herself to prove a point and get Edward back like he says don’t do anything dangerous and proceeds to get on a bike with older men knowing there intentions jumps off a cliff just trying to prove a point so that Edward will come back she’s just lucky that Jacob was there to stop her from all the crazy things she did to get Edward back

I love the fact that Rami Malek's character is hands down one of the most powerful vampires in the whole series and this is never addressed. He literally controls ALL four of the elements???!!!!
