5:43 How to lower cortisol levels
In this video, we're going to talk about cortisol and how to turn off cortisol and stress.
Cortisol is a stress hormone that is made on the outside of the adrenal gland. Cortisol reacts to stress and helps to adapt the body to stress states. All stress is accumulative in the body, and as people experience stress (even though it tends to reduce after some time), it begins to accumulate inside the body as the adrenal gland only has the "ON" switch. What you need to do is manually apply the "OFF" switch to reduce cortisol levels.
To help lower cortisol levels, you can use different acupressure or massage techniques to turn this switch "OFF."

    To anybody reading this,
Fight for your life and your happiness. I am a person who lives in a constant state of anxiety and panic. I've been prescribed every drug you could name and nothing has worked. Do not take the pills psychiatrists try to jam down your throat after knowing you for just 30 minutes. Find ways to make yourself happy. Get out there in the world and face your fears. Find ways to counter your stress. We only live one time. Learn, love and laugh. Say no to your stress and take control of your body again. You are so capable and you are amazing. There is a reason you are on this planet so make the most of it and realize your potential. You are beautiful and you can do anything you set your mind to.

I have a simple technique: I breathe in normally and smoothly, but I breathe out slowly (more than 5 seconds through the mouth) and that activates the sympathetic system, it actually lowers my blood pressure and I'm sure it DE-stresses me. The secret is to breathe smoothly, both in and out, but make sure it takes much longer to breathe out, it feels great and lowers your BP really fast. Thumbs up if you like this!

I have noticed that when I take my BS in the morning getting off shift from the Fire Dept , my readings are 10-20 points higher than on my days off. @edmundblackaddercoc8522 5 ปีที่แล้ว +70

Seth Eskivias Well i'm no Doctor(although through research i probably know a lot more) the answer is sadly there isn't an easy one mate, everyone is different(i done the pill run, eek)
The way i did it was, find out your stressors, that's a starting point, then tackle one at a time! Until it stops being overwhelming, (i'm on the Autistic spectrum too, that's a lie i made a new level on that spectrum lol) so social situations is/was my thing.
The second of course is diet,(use supplements too)one of my stressors was hunger. When on a keto diet this is tough during fasting, my solution is to run up extra protein whilst maintaining low carbs(i know it pushes up blood sugar)but, would rather have a little raised blood than nagging anxiety, i like to feel full, as the cortisol speeds metabolism up immensely, and salad is not cutting it.
I know these are all these are cliches but exercise.Try Find an exercise/sport you love doing, (you may have to try a few)mine is mountain biking, can do it solo or with friends,do it everyday like clockwork same thing same time everyday.
Next one sleep, and this is tough, i developed an evening routine which includes exercise, food,a bath/shower and yoga/stretching.When doing the yoga i started at 10 mins, and built up to an hour, with an element of meditation(i stare at a candle) most important you need complete isolation in this last one distractions mess it up!
Another proactive thing you can do get a full medical bloods the works!
Never gonna be easy with this condition don't be too hard on yourself, stay away from negativity(we negative enough) so i get it.Take care buddy hope i helped a little👍

To add to this, you can control how your breath. The Institute of Heartmath explains how to do this but the key is when you first become agitated or stressed, immediately slow down your breathing and instead of short quick breaths, take long slow breaths and you will shut off the Cortisol, adrenalin as well as your heart. I used this process minimize panic attacks.

I'm trying to begin to change by improving different areas of health, mental health and spiritual well being. I need to be healthy. I want to eat better, sleep better, begin mild activity, work on thinning the clutter even more and just come to know what peace is through psychology and my beliefs through The Bible.

Let them wash over you like the gentle waves of the bluest ocean. Let them envelop you. Comfort you. Imagine somewhere calm. Imagine somewhere safe. Imagine yourself in a frozen forest. You're standing in a clearing. Trees around you so tall, they touch the sky. Pure white snowflakes fall all around. You can feel them melt on your skin. You are not cold. It cannot overcome the warmth of your beating heart. Can you hear it? You only have to listen. You hear it slowing? You're slowing it. You are in control. Calm. At peace.

Don't worry, Josh, it's not just you; like a lot of worthwhile things it takes a bit of practice.
Maybe start by setting aside just two minutes a day to stop everything and experiment with the idea. Check carefully through your body and brain and note where in particular you can feel the tension/stress. Focus on that place, and sensation, just allowing your mind's awareness to sit with it and experience it in full, without judging or trying to change it..
After a while of doing this, consider whether you actually need and want to hang on to this feeling. If you don't want to, if you can, physically let go of it - begin to release the tensed up muscles there, along with any associated thoughts and feelings. If you really can't do this, just go back to the practice of tuning in to it and accepting that it's there, exploring and refining your awareness of it.
Even doing this will bring some stillness to your mind and begin to soothe your overwrought nervous system, and will be beneficial.
If you want to go further, check out a range of books and/ or online courses in mindfulness meditation and pick one or two you like to learn from - BUT, importantly, they should be ones you do feel a certain amount of confidence in, that don't make you feel irritated or resistant, which would only set up further tension for you.
Hope this helps at least a bit. Good luck!

The full nature of God is not understood. God has described himself in all sorts of metaphoric ways both female and male but predominately as a loving intimate Father. But it is still metaphor, so I don’t get into hair splitting about it.

I have gone through some rough times in the last year and for the life of me I can’t understand why none of the multitude of Dr.s that i have seen have not even attempted to go in that direction. I thought that I am going crazy and I was the one at fault as that is what was implied. My stress level has been increasing exponentially over the years and as for sleep... I actually don’t know what a full night of proper feels like anymore. Why are the Dr.s on the same page. Please continue preaching and teaching. It always takes one person to start a revolution in the thinking process. Most Dr.s I have had the pleasure of pleading with give me the same song. “Sorry, here’s some meds and call me in a couple of months”. You make so much sense and darn, I intend to literally put all your instructions to practice as no one has taken me on this path and its time I do something for myself. Thank you and G. Bless.

    • @wilma8326

It is good that it is a contraceptive because a future mother needs to be in a more or less relaxed state to have a healthy pregnancy and be able to be a affectional mother to the newborn. People have no idea how there own stress and traumas effect their children, in the first years of their babies lifes and even in the prenatal state. Traumas are being transferred towards your children, your state of mind literally effects the brain development of your.child. For the sake of your future children, deal with your own stuff first!

Thanks! I learned something interesting about shutting off cortisol production. You recommend long walks to relieve stress. I would like to add one more point to this. Never allow your pulse rate to go over 130 while doing your walks. It seems that when your pulse goes over 130 you start producing cortisol which sets you back. I did this yesterday and my morning glucose test dropped 15 points from the day before and my blood pressure was lower. What I did when my pulse rate got over 130 was to just stop walking and allow my pulse rate to drop to below 100 and then I resumed walking.

@@danielbenitez6985 In a good way. Parasympathetic is the calming system (rest and digest), you want that one activated most of the time. Sympathetic is the aggressive system (fight or flight), you need that one activated if you need to fight, run away from a tiger, or meet a deadline at work. But once that stressful event is over, people have a hard time turning that system off and activating parasympathetic to calm down and relax, sleep well, etc.
