The first part to de-stressing/removing anxiety is to be kind to yourself. More often than not it’s the pressure we put on ourselves that’s causing the issue. Ask yourself, have you done everything that’s to be reasonably expected, if the answers yes then give yourself a break. Live in the present - be present. Give yourself permission to relax and actively choose the things you focus on, everything else is just noise. Sending good vibes to those that might need it.

As for me, I meditate. In order to regulate my emotions, let them in, feel them and understand and let them go. I do not stick to emotions as they're just bursts. Meditation helps with managing nervous system and having control over things we actually can control.

5 things to quit for all people:
    1. Caring about what others think
    2. Not believing in yourself
    3. Not prioritizing your health
    4. Wasting your precious time
    5. Chasing meaningless relationships
For those who are in the rush of changing their lives :-)

Believe it or not I cleaned out 3 bedrooms got rid of a bunch of stuff and just finished painting my youngest daughter's room now that she has moved. I'm working on my kitchen and going through the garage. This has helped me so much. The rooms look empty but it has given me a feeling of control. I went through everything being organized has helped me feel better about the things I can't control and let God handle that part. Seeing all the clutter just made things worse.

I got really stressed out had sleeping problems because I am almost always indoors. I'm 19 don't know how to drive, no job, dealt with a loss at 16. What I have noticed, is that staying home is not good for me. I am also really deficient in vitamin D. I have decided to take control over my life and I do put a lot of pressure on my self. I will take it one day at a time. I will make plans with friends and laugh and I will grow up, which is something hard for me to do, but I know I can do it.

My MD gave me meds to relax during the day and to sleep at night, these were awful and I found answers through my hormone doctor, with a urine test I found out I had chronic cortisol resistance and was put on a supplement called ‘cortisol management’ felt better and better over the weeks after being on this supplement plus meditation, yoga and therapy I am doing great!

I’m sitting here crying because chronic stress has been the primary issue for everything I’ve been experiencing. I have been trying to address individual problems without going to the root. I have felt so overwhelmed and to some degree helpless. I now feel like I have a substantial amount of tools to overcome this and have a better quality of life. I would say that this is ‘indirectly’ related… I am always tweaking the balance of electrolytes and minerals to prevent night cramps, with good success, but recently, I had an issue with bad cramps again. Raises cortisol and puts my body under stress. Cramps so bad that my foot would turn and I couldn’t walk for a few minutes. (I am flat footed, so if I have been on my feet alot during the day, my feet aren’t happy 😆)
A few months ago, I woke up at the start of a bad cramp - normally I would tense up immediately in anticipation of what was coming - fight or flight? God literally spoke to me that night - He said STOP. BREATHE. WAIT. I forced myself to go against what my body was trying to do - tense up, and was just breathing slowly and deeply and praying… within 30 seconds, I literally FELT the muscle relax and release. I have done this every single time since that night, and it works every time.

Dr. Berg, I have been watching your videos for the last month or so and they are soooo good!! The last year has been a complete train wreck for me - developed anxiety, health anxiety, and depression stemming from first losing my Father, than going through a divorce and then losing my job due to Covid - all in a span of under two years - my body reacted in a way that I have never experienced: chest and back pain (continuous), heart palpitations (usually at night out of all times) neck pains, tingling pains and even losing 35 pounds this year when all this started. Have been checked multiple times for everything and doctors cannot find anything major thankfully - they tell me I am dealing with very high stress and anxiety - after watching your videos on nutrition, and especially vitamin B1 (been taking nutritional yeast for 2 weeks now and I definitely can feel a big difference) - my symptoms are definitely much more subdued - thank you for all your help!! i've been dealing with high stress for almost 6 years now - i was finally getting better at year 3 (interestingly i was told by my dr to take magnesium to help me relax at that time) then it started again because of a new trauma. my issue always gets to where i can no longer sleep. doesnt matter how long i'm in bed, i wake up every hour, and sometimes i'll stay awake for up to 4 hours before finally falling asleep again. which of course makes me even more stressed...my vitamin d was in the teens, my blood sugar spiked to prediabetic levels, losing hair, zero memory... i really wish there was something that would just block the production of adrenalin and cortisol. its fine for that initial burst (like when i needed to call 911, or rush my dog to the vet after collapsing)... but once thats over, i just wish i could flip that switch. i know so many doctors dont think adrenal fatigue is real, but i sure as heck have just about every one of those symptoms that no one has been able to fix without just prescribing antidepressants!

    • @quickpstuts412

      I know how you feel.
I have been in flight or fight mode off and on for the last 12 years so it's like my body will be stuck there and reacts super easily to stress.
It finally started affecting my sleep this year, and it would take me hours to fall asleep and then I would sleep really light and get maybe 3-4 hours. I even had nights where I didn't sleep at all.
It took several months, but here is what's helping....
      1) Taking long walks (making sure I get 10,000 steps per day even if I had to walk around my house)
      2) Taking magnesium and eating foods high in magnesium and potassium (leafy greens, etc.)
      3) Working less and taking a break (I tend to be a workaholic. That's my escape from what I'm going through)
      4) Getting a massage to relieve body tension (I was surprised how relieving body tension helps the mental part too)
      5) Setting a regular sleep schedule. Dr. Berg is right. If you try to go to bed after 10:30pm, it becomes harder to get quality sleep. I sleep best when I get in bed by 10.
      6) Deep breathing exercises daily
Overall I think being active was the #1 thing. So if you do nothing else, try to increase your activity levels for a week to see if that helps.
I went from 2-4 hours per sleep this Summer to 5 - 7 1/2 on most nights. Still a work in progress.
      I wish you the best.

The #1 stressor in people's lives is their job. And most can't do anything about that. Even if the work environment is friendly, the fact of being tied to a schedule induces a stress response. In order to be truly happy and content, one would need to be financially rich enough to quit their job and be free to do whatever the heart desires every day and go wherever one feels they want to be that day (or month).

I finally figured it was due to artificial foods like additives, preservatives colourings flavourings etc and I had read that it was due to high cortisols. The part I have not figured out is why these artificial foods cause high cortisol levels in my body. The symptoms describe exactly what I experience like bloating and inflammation, dry skin, osteoparnia, brain fog, water retention and depression. Getting lots of sun and exercise really helps and is an antidote. Now i watch my diet, eat only home cooked food and get plenty of sun and physical activity and I can sleep through the night. Would love to understand why the cortisol levels are elevated with certain foods. Thanks!

A study was done on 2 glasses of water. 1 in one room and another in the other room. Both were in identical rooms and conditions. The 1st room had negative, angry and hateful talk. Sadness and evil sounds. Arguing and put downs. Completelystressed. 2nd room had happy music. Love, kindness and encouragement. Meditation and positive vibes. Laughter and happy stories read in the 2nd room. The 1st room, the water was stagnant. The 2nd room the water was fine and drinkable. The study was told to me but I didn't write it down. I will try to find it though if anyone is interested.

Luckily I quit all recreational drugs 31 years ago and replaced it with exercise. Your presentation; I gave myself a Pat on the Back. However, I took up kickboxing 2007 and that gets stressful. Only 3.. 3 minutes rounds. Every other day :-)

Practicing the “art of allowing “ is an important part of all this. So much in the world right now is out of our control so upsetting and maddening and I’ve found out the hard way there’s no virtue in a hard ride . There’s no upside to feeling down so control what you watch and think about ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday I was able to go to a man who is not a Dr. but he analyzes your cells by looking at your blood samples. He kept telling me something I already knew... I am extremely stressed. I am very pro active with my health and I take some very good supplements. However, I am somewhat of a type A personality and my life has been very stressful. He told me to speak to my adrenal glands...lol. He also has told me to take some extra supplements for 3-4 months to cleanse my liver and get my cells healthy. I guess I have signs of beginning leaky gut, tiny clots, stacked cells and cells dumping garbage which have damaged some cells. I like your advice to do physical work to keep myself less stressed. He did know who you are. and he has followed you. Its imperative that I get this stress under contol. Thankfully, I sleep like a log....love this video!❤

I have always been the calm one in my family, everybody thought I was a hippie or something lol. After getting Covid, the past election, and having to work from home, I noticed I started to feel weird during the day. It was like I couldn’t think straight and that I was constantly going to pass out. Long story short, it was generalized anxiety. It was bad for about 5 months before I could really get it under control. Still comes up from time to time but those first few months were really terrifying because I had no idea what was going on!

I don't know about starting keto with high cortisol. At the beginning keto stresses your body quite a bit, not sure if adding it on top of everything is such a great idea.
That being said, wow, that's a great summary of what was happening to me during studies. I had no idea it could be so easily named.

It's impossible to fast when you're instructed by your health coach to take food and valuable vitamins 3 times a day. I did intermittent fasting and was used to 2 times a day eating. That all changed when I had a nervous breakdown recently. Lasted 4 months of in and out of hospital. Your program explained in detail what's going on with my body. My previous husband has a amp coil that that did a screen on me. High in cortisol leavels. I've never heard of the yeast mentioned with out your program. I will look that up. Thank you for your program. I listen every day!
