Thanks for the update. I think the slow rollout is because they still have a lot of 2024 inventory.
And probably waiting to see what happens with tax credits, etc.
I live in the Uk. I’ve had my 2025 IONIQ 5 limited AWD edition for about 4 weeks now. I upgraded from a 2021 IONIQ 5 and it’s a superb upgrade. Better range, better tech, rear wiper, vision roof and I also got the digital wing mirrors which I know you can;t get in the US, but it’s still a fabulous car.
Yeah North America is weird with the digital stuff
I’d probably look into modding in the digital either way
When VW finished their ID.4 plant in Tennessee...they had a rough rollout. They struggled with a new factory, new assembly structures, and new employees. It took them several months to correct issues in their production process. Take your time, Hyundai and Kia, and get it right.
Great overview, thanks. Most insightful line "A new factory, with new employees building a new car"....Glad I pulled the trigger on a great deal for a 24! Hopefully none but wondering what issues the 25's will have that weren't in previous models.
I intend to trade my '22 SEL for a '25 and was told by my dealership here in Illinois that they were hoping for mid-december delivery. Looks like I'll wait a bit longer. I was told that the dealers can't order I-5's, they just have to wait and find out what Hyundai will allocate to them. The local dealer still has '24's on the lot and tried hard to get me to choose one of the I5 or 6's in their inventory. I get the feeling that it's going to take a hell of a deal to move those '24's considering the improvements of the 25 models.
In Japan, it is available as of last week. Comes with j1772 and Chademo ports.
Out local dealer told me they didn’t expect the 2025 Ioniq 5 in significant numbers until mid 2025.
There's a lot of MY24 Ioniq 5s and Kia EV6s on dealer lots in the Seattle area, makes sense to deploy putting MY25 on the lot.
Appears that a limited number of 2025's have in fact already left the factory. Spoke with my sales guy today, they have a second 2025 in their showroom now and the one I drove seems to have been sold.
I just sent them a message inquiring
I don’t know what’s going on. I just spoke with them and they told me they don’t have 2025s and that they’ll be there soon. Did you drive a 5 N?
I was able to just go in to my dealership drop 500$ down as a deposit and now I have a limited 25 arriving in January :)
Very nice! Hopefully they don't add a markup. Sometimes if you show too much enthusiasm that's when they get you between a rock and a hard place.
@@TheIoniqGuyThat's why the auto dealership monopoly/cartel has to end.
Nope, it was a 5. The sales guy told me stories about people test driving 5N's just for kicks, never intending to buy one. I've never seen a 5N, that dealer did not even have one on the lot. The car I drove had a J3400 charging port.
I did not ask about an adapter, not being aware that Tesla had yet to greenlight Supercharger usage. It will be one of my first questions once a RWD comes available.
I was able to get my 2022 with only 12K miles for $20,000. I wouldn't pay over $30,000 for any of these vehicles. The 2025 model is very exciting because it fixed many of the problems but just going to have to wait a few years for it to come down in price
Thanks for the update. I'm not gonna pay a markup so my timeline may have to slip some. I'm in NJ looking for a Limited but will drive out of state if I have to.
Patiently waiting, might look towards the XRT. Also just read on Hyundai's website the Ioniq 9 will be built at the Meta plant also .
Just give it a couple months after they hit the lots they will have crazy leases too
I have been hoping they would have them out by year end, but now hoping by the end of January. Hyundai needs to keep the sales momentum for their sales reports, so doubt they would hold them back just because they have more 2024s to sell. Think it has more to do with just getting enough production to make them widely available.
Got my 2025 'Dynamiq' AWD last week here in Australia.
So if they are built in the US, that means shipping charges will be lower, right?
Nope, shipping is still $1500
Do you think they will really switch the I5 to an Android system in 2026? I know other Hyundai and Kia cars have been on CCNC for a while now, but to switch the I5 infotainment system after a year seems crazy. You have any information on that situation?
I don’t have any information but I wouldn’t expect Ioniq 5 to get it until a full redesign coming in probably 2028
@@TheIoniqGuy Okay, that's what I wanted to hear. Thanks.
239/month lease??
Where do i sign lol
We have 2023 ioniq 5 in December the range dropped drastically on 79% it was 199 km temperature was around 0 degrees centigrade after all software updates today is 300 km on 79% charge we are in Toronto Canada any advice
I have a 2023Ioniq5 and not sure when to get my adapter. I think they will never be cheaper than they are now. Do you have any insight?
I paid 200 after taxes for the A2Z I just bought but someone pointed out that there is a 15% coupon on their site right now so around $160. The quality seems great so at $160 it seems fairly priced
@@TheIoniqGuyLectron’s was $170 before sales taxes a few weeks back.
I'm not in the market but I'd lease a 2024 B4 1/1/2025 if I was. I understand you getting the 2025 though, Corbin.
Hi, would you or one of your followers know what the release dates are for Canada? I’ve had my $500 deposit on for a 2025 IONIQ 5 for almost 18months, and I can’t get a straight answer from my dealer. (in all fairness, maybe he doesn’t know). Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
I'm in the same situation as you, no info ☹
??? Does anyone think there is a noticeable difference between the 2022 and 2023 IONIQ 5, as they relate to the ICCU-charging ports- recall issues? For example it seems the
2022 require more hardware-replacement fixes VS the 2023 models requiring more software only type fixes ?
They both have had the exact same number of recalls and software updates so there should be no difference. The only people that would have enough evidence to know is Hyundai.
Is there any truth to the rumor that Amazon is going to be a conduit to order Hyundai vehicles?
You can do that as of today. Only buying right now but leasing is coming
The first cities with approved dealers went live yesterday. You must be within 75 miles of a dealer/city to view inventory on Amazon.
Yes get yours before the new administration dumps the EV tax credit!
To bad the XRT is the only model that has the much improved tow rating, I checked the specs and it appears the other models have the 2300lb rating.
I would love to sell my 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD and get another Ioniq 5 but my Tesla has a 3500Lb tow rating and I need that, The big unfortunate is Tesla dropped my 12volt Accessory power on the last software update (when no driver is present) and I can not longer run my efficient 12volt compressor fridge that I have in in the back below the rear deck but Ioniq 5 has great VTL features for camping.
Thanks for the reply Corbin, here is something you can try and verify for yourself: It's an announcement made by another IONIQ owner, who heard a specific date in January 2025
for the new adaptors compatible with the Tesla charging network: see: th-cam.com/users/shortsZgAtjffBZaM (Even the price mentioned sounds really low compared to the
500.00 to 1500.00 cost of adaptors I've heard about even recently )
I’m waiting a few more years. Live my 2024 ioniq 5
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *breath* ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Lol, I already picked up my 2025! It's the N.... AWWH, you said that so darn.
Thanks for the update! I can have patience
Not surprising. Bet'cha the real hangup is coming from Tesla. Hyundai is already building the 2025 Ioniq 5 with a J3400 port, but… they haven't been given the green light to use Superchargers yet! Once again, E'loon has screwed up: should've never fired Rebecca Tinnucci! Derp.
False - Ioniq 5s work on Superchargers already - happened in the last week. They work if you add them in the Tesla app. This delay has nothing to do with Tesla, or its CEO.
That no longer works as Tesla found out and stopped the ability for now.
@@fiehlsport Noooo, they don't. Only at Magic Dock sites -which are no longer being installed. You bet it has to do with Tesla, and the buck always stops at the big bucks.
Test drove a 2025 SEL AWD in Conshohocken, PA. But the Limited RWD I want looks to stay unavailable for awhile.
@@voyageurmike You've got good Karma! Too bad it has the J3400 port, but still can't charge at Superchargers, just Magic Docks. Did it come with an adapter to use at CCS1 stations?
Hyundai Canada is saying only XRT will be built in Georgia...I have a 2024 ultimate and i think I'll wait for 2026 with new android system
And that the rest of your cars will still come from Korea?
