I just saw on Tom’s State of Charge that Kia/Hyunadi partnered with ConnectEDR to be able to upgrade their utility service by adding a 40A/240V adapter to your utility meter without an entire service upgrade which costs couple of grand more. They are definitely going in the right direction with EVs.
I was leaning heavily toward trading my EV6 in for an EV9, but I think I've decided IONIQ 9 is the way to go with that larger battery. Plus, it seems like the SEL trim on IONIQ 9 is going to give me more of the features I care about without having to go up to the higher trims, like I would have to on EV9.
Wow, I hate big SUVs, but I'm really glad it's there for folks who need/like it. I've had my Ioniq6 for nearly a year now and am so impressed with this platform.
It's a sweet people hauler: will be great for large families, shuttles, sports teams, car poolers. I saw two of them camoflouged at EA chargers, using CCS-to-J3400 adapters to plug in. I would predict that it will leapfrog all the other 3-row EVs now available.
Hyundai is killing it when it comes to EVs. The sleeper EV company that will take some by surprise. They probably won’t even need the EV tax credit in the future for profitability.
I like the Ioniq 9 a lot more than I thought I would. I even like the digital version for the Volvo V70 rear end. The interior is beautiful and practical. And I love that green. But it’s the 2025 I5 for me because I can’t justify anything that big. I kinda want to though.
Excellent review, you covered many features which I had not seen in other videos. I tested the EV9 and while very nice driving performance, the styling was not for me ...... I much prefer the Ioniq9
I have an Ioniq 6. I have not road tripped it but I use the Chargeway app for the Rivian R1T (my husband's). I don't think the Ioniq6 has pet mode just utility mode which is V2L. I will use the Chargeway app but try to navigate to the next charger about 15 minutes ahead of time so the battery will pre-condition..
@@dianewallace6064 Didn't know about Chargeway, Thanks! I downloaded it and it's pretty cool! Are you using the upgrade version? If so what does it bring to the table that's different from the free version?
@TheIoniqGuy or anyone who knows... So has anybody seen or know what Celadon gray matte is??I'm looking to get my ioniq 5 in a couple months but I really like the color on the ionic 9 not the really green one but the other one that kind of looks grayish green
I think it sorta looks like an Ioniq 5 that's been taking steroids to build muscles. 😂 Seriously I do like it and if I had a big family I would seriously consider it. However, as it goes, I'm still stuck on the HI5! Still loving it going on 2 years. Hey! It's my baby! ☺
Looks are subjective 1000% However, From a design perspective, IMO this doesn't hold a candle to EV9 both with interior and exterior. For the life of me, I do NOT understand why Hyundai doesn't put more into their interiors. I love the I5 design, but the EV6 interior is more attractive. In fairness, when the Palisade and the Telluride first launched, I thought the Palisade was hideous. However, when they did the refresh on the Palisade, it now looks way better than the Telluride. Personally, I am a Kia/Hyundai fan. I think they're the most forward-thinking when it comes to design and trying to push the needle forward, never really playing it safe lol (at least on the outside). Just my .02
Having a 2024 Ioniq 5....tital disaster on the Las Vegas roads/highways....HDA is absolutely abysmal and dangerous....while driving on hda...the car would suddenly cross into other lanes...shame on Hyundai....no,thanks....never again!
I have both ioniq 5 and ioniq 6, love them, never experienced such thing like you had, I guess either their is something wrong with your car or you don’t know how to use it, go get your car checked
Yes it does sound like you have an issue to see your dealer about. If anything my I5 and I6 are super conservative and always making sure I am paying attention. I used to wish I had FSD like Tesla but I think Hyundai is worried about the liabilities involved and are waiting for better and safer tech.

Looks great!! Amazing features and I love the way how Hyundai made their 3 row similar AND different to the EV9!!

Oh man it all looks so good. Too bad I can’t justify owning this car 😅 Thanks for the overview!

Good job explaining the difference between drag and drag coefficient.
Love the I9!

I really like the design. This is a good signal from Hyundai.

Sounds like the lowest, slowest trim will be their first electric minivan. It has about the same low power as the ice versions of those.

Noise cancellation is nice.

Thanks for the review! Any idea if there’s a rear wiper?
There is! It’s tucked under the spoiler
Happy Thanksgiving!
Talk about hauling stuff. 5:39 mark.
I don't know why specifically but the dash reminds me of Mercedes for some reason.
My only question is how is the software and finding chargers at 10%. I keep hearing navigation is bad. Does this have Pet or Dog Mode.

This is the car strictly for American.
It's too large car for people in other countries lol
Looks too plain to me
day 1 president Trump will stop all ev rebates i am thinking
Soonest he has any power over tax policy is 2026. We've got a year at least.
Let’s see if the can govern to repeal it.

I own a 2024 AWD Ioniq6 SE. It is Stellar. No issues.
Oh no, you mean you actually have to drive your own car?! 😱
I have no issues with mine.. I think they are one of the best systems after the Tesla... Interesting that you had such a horrible experience..
