brother, thank you for making this video. I never thought i would see a decent F/A-18C cockpit, and yet i have today. i am in the process off building one of these, and so far im 35% done. Congrats on finishing!
Fantastic and thanks for sharing . I know the time and effort in building a home cockpit . I spent 7 years building a 737 sim . But ….having a flat screen for the outside view is not total immersion. I fly in vr with a motion sim at home and I’m a real world pilot if you used this with mixed reality in vr in would be spectacular. Cheers Dave from Scotland
It all started few years ago with a simple HOTAS on top of my table, then clamp supports, then some other add-ons, then... how can put this all toghether? :)
Gracias Max!
Thanks! I designed & built it myself, seat & main structure made of MDF. HOTAS, UFC & MFDs from WinWing, TekCreations panels and some custom electronics as well. You can also get design from openhornet project and build it yourself, or check TekCreations' website as they sell some full-cockpit assemblies.
Fair enough but you have it rotated for side stick configuration, ie as it is on the F16 when a side stick. You should rotate to fit your hand, left 15 degrees as it is in the A10 that uses the same grip.
I guess that’s how you perceive it. Actually I was suggesting how to make it more comfortable and realistic after going to all the trouble of such a comprehensive pit.
Hi there! Of course, it's a WinWing Orion, it comes with 2 finger lifts and each triggers 2 buttons that you can map as idle & stop for engines 1 & 2. Awesome quality for the price, highly recommended!
Thanks! I do fly F16 & even MSFS. For F16 I have WIngWing's ICP module that fits perfectly on top of the UFC, and the MFDs work perfectly. All other buttons can be mapped as you like (master arm, gear, flaps, etc.), although they are not exactly on the same position for other planes. Cheers!
@@speakinginsilver04 As for resolution the G2 has a little more clarity, but the Q3 lenses are extremely good. There is no sweet spot in it. If you watch Warthog Project he is using it with the passthrough.
I have to ask.., I have Teks warning panel and Lock Shoot! They tend to delay the longer I fly. Another words if I get a lock, and I’ve been flying for a while, the lock shoot may not go on for a long time afterwards. How do you get yours response so quickly? Is there a firmware or something you do that I don’t see?
When I first received Tek's parts also had same issue. After trying several firmware updates finally ended up using 2 brain controllers and that help with the delay. I'd suggest to email Kieron and he will help you, good luck!
looks great, but how much you play it per week if you work 38 hours per week? i cant imagine you play it every weekend 6 hours? Maybe 2-3 hours, then you this huge simulator standing there.
And this is what men have instead of shoes/boutique-shopping.
LoL :D
And instead of a wife. I’m jealous.
You got that right

that aside, respect for this super cool cockpit, I hope it brings you a lot of joy😊
Thanks!!

All that and using an F-16 stick and rotated for side stick configuration??

Top gun
Would you be willing to share which throttles you have, and how you bound the finger lift to ignite the engine?

Actually I do fly VR most of the time, you get used to blindly reach all controls easily. Next step MR...
crazy how you have f18 everything but then you got the winwing F16ex stick
