You only need this if you are planning to hit max speed and stay at max speed for longer than 20 seconds like transferring large files (video editing or movies). For normal use and gaming, it's not needed. It won't "blow up" or meltdown either, just hit the throttle limit and slow the transfer. Trust me, I moved ~10tb on my SSD without a heatsink and it is still at 100% although it is annoying hitting the throttle. Great video, thank you!
this is really bad advice. You always want to run the optimal temperatures for all components if you want your pc to be happy and healthy for along time. Why even try to convince people not to be safe and invest in one, especially when most of these you can get for like $8 USD 😂
@@lucadesantis7520 I digged a bit more and the are different kinds of stickers - some of them are made ouf of a paper and can be removed, some other have a purpose of cooling (metal/heat sink) and there are not to be removed.
It is hard to tell front from back. The ssd isn't an m.2 ssd so front and back isn't obvious based on plug connection. Should have flipped the chip over and back. Once the sticky stuff is on, you don't want to remove it.
From what I've gathered, the sticker acts as a heat spreader to keep the temperature even throughout the drive. Peeling it off would be a bit like not applying thermal paste to your CPU.
What if the problem is the other way around? I purchased a Kingston Fury Renegade 2 TB without heat sink, but yesterday the retailer sent me a unit WITH the heat sink instead, because the other one ran out of stock. Can I safely unscrew and remove the heat sink? And will my garantee be void? If it is easy to remove the ´stock´ heat sink without damaging the SSD, I might just keep the product and save me the trouble of returning it.
@@PCLISTS I decided to keep it. Unfortunately SUPPORT from KINGSTON told be I COULD install the motherboard´s heat shield ON TOP of the SSD with its own heat sink. I say ´unfortunately´, because I don´t think it´s possible/correct/safe. I believe this information is wrong. It´s either one OR the other, in my opinion. (I am disappointed because I think the suppoort information I received is incorrect, which only increased my insecurity about this)
i wish all tutorials were that concise and clear
Informing, clear and have no meaningless intro :) Thanks for sharing
Ok, so which strip do i use? Got 2 white and 2 red ones, makes no difference? Cause they are both different in thickness?
What makes you put that music bro?
Wow, that is some annoying music.

The music of unrealistically happy and flawless day... which doesn't exist in real life.

This is the product I was looking for. I found a way to use the lower heatsink. Thank you.
Great, one criticism is that you did not reveal the other side of the M2. NVME SSD, but thanks very helpful
I was about to ask! I searched for tutorials for this exact reason, to know if I had to remove that plastic part of the silicon.
just watched an old dude's video spending 30 mins doing the wrong thing, instead of less than 1 min to get the right info.
Great video, i got exactly this heatsink

my computer says "Must Install SSD with Heatsink" why is this?
bro, during a download my pc is almost unusable because my ssd hits 70 degrees celsius and it tries to cool, I mean I think it's because of that.
OK. Tell that to my Kingston KC3000

Why didn't you removed the sticker before applying cooling strip?
Remove nvme sticker usually void warrantly

@@eido4090 that depends on what is the sticker made of. But actually I would remove it if I surely had much better thermal paste.

Am I supposed to put some pressure on the top part of the heatsink before screwing it down?
Is it really necessary to use this?

I got some k5 pro, could I slap that onto it and call it a day?
Formfactor is what matters. Most m.2 drivers have 2280 form factor.
lol this comment made my day
Why didn't you peel the sticker off before applying the thermal pad on the chip?

Is the heat sink east to remove?
The two strips in my heating are a different color, so I'm unsure if they're the same, damn
oh a heatsink is basically a case for the ssd?
It's suppose to absorb the heat and send it away from the SSD or processor.
doesn't the label prevent heat dissipation?
Can it be used on a laptop?
Thank you!
Nice tutorial, but the SSD you used i doubt is a SATA SSD, not an NVMe...
Its nvme, did u see that he use a SATA cable ?
@@icefelix7771this is infact nvme. sata is the connector itself.
Ssd can be sata and nvme. Nvme is way faster, but sata ssd is still faster than conventional hdd..
How are you preventing the NVME from getting loose and falling off? I didn't see any screws go into the MB.
0:42 near the blue thing, that screw keep the SSD from falling off.
Your MB should come with a screw to bolt down the unit
I put that orange on the top is it going to make some problem with SSD if someone knows please answer
Ssd üzerinde ki etiketler sökülmesi gerekmiyor mu?
does it fit with all motherboard ? because on my mothberboard the nvme is under the vga card b760-mk
how does Heatsink work ? i mean i dont see any fans on it so how it reduce the temp ?
Heat transfer from contact and the cooler just releases it with case fans if there’s airflow
