Heat transfer from contact and the cooler just releases it with case fans if there’s airflow

Why didn't you peel the sticker off before applying the thermal pad on the chip?
From what I've gathered, the sticker acts as a heat spreader to keep the temperature even throughout the drive. Peeling it off would be a bit like not applying thermal paste to your CPU.

You only need this if you are planning to hit max speed and stay at max speed for longer than 20 seconds like transferring large files (video editing or movies). For normal use and gaming, it's not needed. It won't "blow up" or meltdown either, just hit the throttle limit and slow the transfer. Trust me, I moved ~10tb on my SSD without a heatsink and it is still at 100% although it is annoying hitting the throttle. Great video, thank you!

bro, during a download my pc is almost unusable because my ssd hits 70 degrees celsius and it tries to cool, I mean I think it's because of that.

this is really bad advice. You always want to run the optimal temperatures for all components if you want your pc to be happy and healthy for along time. Why even try to convince people not to be safe and invest in one, especially when most of these you can get for like $8 USD 😂

I didn't have any problem applying it. No air bubbles. I made sure to use the sticker to get any random dust off, and pulled slowly. I did back up twice to get bubbles off as I went along. I used a credit card but didn't cover it with the cloth. No idea why that's in the video because there's a top layer on the screen protector? I'm applying this to my touch screen so i don't get the glass messed up. I'm not an artist so i don't really care about any single color difference that others are mentioning. Screen looks fine to me. 🤷♀️
cloth is preferred to avoid some serious damage if scratched too hard, you know some people who scratch the card without cloth so hard that even if there exists outer layer,damage is still done on the inner layer
