    I did use honey but added 5 dates soaked in boiling water and then drained and mashed them. I skipped chocolate, rice cereal, and dried cranberries (I wanted dates instead for less sugar) and used walnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, cinnamon, and ground ginger with a pinch of salt. The small seeds made for a good crunch. Coconut flakes would also be yummy. Soooo good! Thanks for sharing! I am a new mom too, so this will help me snack more often. I think I will keep a double batch of some version of this in weekly rotation. Total game changer!

      How do you recommend this is toasted?

    • @carolt392
      @carolt392 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GloriaCabutey Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat and add the oats. Stir to coat the oats in the butter, then stir frequently until the oats are light golden brown. Once you have these oats toasted, use them to follow Sara's recipe.

    • @Racohi
      @Racohi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gloria Awunyo - Akaba you can dry toast the oats in a skillet over the oven OR in a baking sheet in the oven until they become golden brown, but the butter is a great addition

    It varies by child I guess. Don't remember how often our older son Daniel fed since he was on a lactose free formula and most mornings were covered by Lee or my mother since I'm usually up around noon and regularly fall asleep around two in the morning. I don't think he ate that often when I cared for him. He was born at 26 weeks, my milk was infected since an infection is what booted him out early, and he was given bottles and pacifiers while in his first two months in the NICU. He kept regressing in progress until he was on a lactose free formula. With our younger son Thomas he was born at 40 weeks and six days so I breastfed him soon after giving birth to him and every two hours until he died of SIDS seven weeks later. I still produced milk for months after he died. I miss him so much. Daniel makes me miss him more and he looked exactly like Lee so I'll never get over losing him.

    Thank you for sharing this recipe! I never thought to use the rice cereal before and am excited to try these!
    My question ...
    Why do they need to be refrigerated?
    I like to make my snacks ahead of time and bag them individually in small snack bags that I reuse. This helps me so I'm not tempted to eat more than I should😉🤪😁
