- A few days before the finale of the first season of 'Twin Peaks,' Phil Donahue interviewed cast members Peggy Lipton, Piper Laurie, Dana Ashbrook, Madchen Amick, Eric DaRe, Sheryl Lee and series co-creator Mark Frost.

haha how i felt the entire season when i first watched the show...i am now re-watching it (drug free i may add) and i noticed he uses music to kinda hypnotize the viewer a little..its very dream like, like in a trance, and repeated music parts all throughout its just uncomfortable and theres such a heavy sadness and misery lingering...brilliant writing and directing...way ahead of its time
Twin Peaks has the most gorgeous cast ever in the history of cinema or television. Sheryl Lee, Mädchen Amick, Sherilyn Fenn (not here), Lara Flynn Boyle (not here) and Peggy Lipton are about the prettiest women I've ever seen in my existence. They are the angels I'd like to see in heaven when I die.

Listen kids, Twin Peaks was the GoT of its era. It was huge, everyone was talking about it and it made all its cast household name. Music was dope too.

Just just started watching TP and had to find out who this girl was. I'm floored by how crazy hot she was.
Girls on TV in the 90's seemed hotter than what you see today. They were shaped like women, not flat chested young girls. Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee were hot too. Even Heather Graham looked hotter then. She got way too skinny later on.

It just didn't make sense. The Audrey-Cooper subplot wasn't continued because Boyle didn't allow MacLachlan to make out with anybody but her; yet it was OK for her to make out with James Marshall. MacLachlan should have stood his ground.
Man, it's weird that Donahue used to be/still is considered the gold standard of this type of talk show when the guy messes up all sorts of things, including the names of the people he's interviewing. There's only like six people up there. Names are not difficult.

The whole world was in for a surprise back then when the show first started as sort of a teenage crime drama, then turned into a part surreal, part supernatural cosmic horror fantasy story.

I remember I was in grade school during this time, 1990, hard to believe it was 25 years ago. Did no know Margeret White, Piper Laurie was part of Twin peaks.

+Mark Hernandez It was an amazing cast everyone wanted to work with David Lynch. This was really ground breaking - this was a time when film stars (Kyle Mclachlan had just starred in Blue Velvet for Lynch, etc) just did not do TV, it was supposed to be a huge comedown. But after Twin Peaks, more and more actors saw the value in doing television. David Lynch was that respected, he really was the main draw and they really had quite the cast. I still love David Duchovny in a dress :0)
I can see why Cooper did not attend since this host don't seem to know shit!
+Mohamed Adam well, he interviewed people every day, he doesn't have the knowledge you might have gleaned in the last quarter of a century. Heck, I watched it before it aired on TV (I miss friends in high places) and still have no clue what the hell was going on half the time :)

Awful interview but it is pretty amazing to see how Twin Peaks just caught everyone's attention like that. I can't think of another show that ever had that many people completely hooked in my lifetime. Sopranos is the only thing that comes close.
Can't wait to see what they do on showtime... and they are doing this knowing damn well that people have insane expectations. That plus how out of this world the original series was... wow.

I am 26 watching Twin Peaks for the first time, and absolutely loving it. This interview is horrendous though, who the hell is this Donahue guy and how did people ever watch him? What a Horrible interviewer, that question about the bigwig with the cigar snatching up Sheryl Lee was disgusting. Really telling

Peggy Lipton is ageless. She was already in her mid-40's here. She looks like she's in her late 40's today. Meanwhile Lara Flynn Boyle and Sherilyn Fenn haven't aged well. And they're only a few years older than Peggy when this was taped! They did a good job aging Cooper 25 years because that's pretty much what Kyle looks like now.
I looked at pictures of Lara Flynn Boyle and Sherilyn Fenn from both around the time this comment was made and pictures of them now and I thought,''Man,the years have not been kind''.
Acting is one profession I would never want to go into. That's the thing with being a sex symbol,eventually you're going to lose your looks to time.But some actors have aged gracefully.Peggy Lipton had aged very gracefully.
