I know. Germans in general sag and wrinkle quickly due to their skin being thinner and fairer. Also they tend to have a lot of discolorization issues from freckles to ruddy skin. Not to mention their blond hair tends to go dirty quickly. But Diane defies all those stereotypes.
LOL “the French accent puts a hook into our hearts over here in America.” So true. I’m from NYC I heard a boy speak in a French accent and nearly fell off a rooftop from fainting at how beautiful his speech sounded. We literally adore French people.
Lol the irony is that here in France we find our accent atrocious. We deliberately use it as a joke to show our incompetence on the english language. And we never really understood neither believe how that very accent could in any possible way be pleasant to the ear for an english speaking person lol.

I am french and totally agree with her ! Damn she is sooo right about that annoying attitude and behaviour behaviour... Many people here seem mad, frustrated, jealous. Some other are really stupid and judge everything... I spent 3 month on USA, and I could not understand why it was so easy to talk to people, and why some of them was nice with. and I finally felt more french in USA than in my country, proud of my culture, the legacy but dont like the mentality !!!
That is me thank you. I understand that I'm not terrible to look at but I'm not one that makes people think "wow that girl is really beautiful" when they see me. That's just the truth.
She's adorable -when she's embarrassed- 24/7, which caused some very mixed emotions because she's surprisingly terrifying when she's shouting in a German accent.

Hollywood should get her on more movies, she is beautiful, speaks perfect English, talented and trilingual!
Alissa Ditten I’m so disappointed as a German to hear or read something like that. I mean, what are you expecting from us? We are not cursing and we are not angry. We are angry like you and we curse like you. It’s only our language and the pronunciation.... sad
We dont swear all the time here! If you are using bad words in public, people will look at you like you have no "niveau", like the french say. Swearing people have no manners, just like the president of the united states by the way! German indeed is a high level language. Its poetic, beautiful and very precise! It just sounds a bit harsh for some countrys. Just for some. Not for the russians for example. We dont swear more or less than others i guess. Respect and greetings from Munich, Germany.

j'aurais voulu entendre son allemand , mais son français est impecc, c'est vrai!
Lucie Elle n'a pas d'accent en temps normal, en tout cas pas quand elle se double dans les films.
Her American accent is first rate too.
haha she's adorable, and that french accent is an emotional rollercoaster.
For me one of the greatest actress worldwide.... I am from Germany and have seen her French and German films also.... Respect... She is so smart.
Diane Kruger and Christoph Waltz were my favorites from Inglorious Bastards and they are so humble and eloquent everytime they make an appearance.
Oh, I love C. Waltz in inglorious bastards. He's brilliant & compelling.
I swear Kruger is extremely underrated in that movie. She got overshadowed by Waltz and Brad Pitt cuz both truly stole the show especially Waltz who really owned the movie
@@800Ms-k6n Diehl too
I absolutely love this woman! Total girl crush on her!
The Black Pearl It really doesn't. I could be a heterosexual female, a homosexual or bisexual female, a heterosexual male, or homosexual or bisexual male, undecided gender, transgendered, asexual, intersex, queer, or whatever other gender and sex denomination there is and I still would love this woman. Either way, fyi definition of girl crush from the urban dictionary: feelings of admiration and adoration which a girl has for another girl, without wanting to shag said girl. a nonsexual attraction, usually based on veneration at some level.
i think if its not sexual then its not a crush its just admiration i think you gotta be attracted to them on a minute level at least for it to be a crush and im so sick of people saying girl crush like they're afraid people will think their a lesbian or bisexual so what if people think that its none of their business. for instance i have a crush on eva green though it is different to my crush on james mcavoy i respect and admire them equally.
Joni Rose i have a crush on u baby
Get in line...or the queue if you prefer...or don't - if you are actually French.
I love her honesty and genuine sense of humor!!!
6:56 I love how she curses on air and then is like "oh shit, I just cursed on air." Very natural reaction.
when she didn’t realize that she cursed.... that’s so cute 😂
By the end, I think Colbert was genuinely in love with her XD
metallicak5 yes he was smitten and she knew it
Yes and she knows
we all were
I mean why wouldn't ypu fall in love with her?
I want Diane Kruger to be to Stephen Colbert as Alice Eve was to Craig Ferguson. Make it happen!
Or Mimi to Drew Carey?
Yesss chemistry crackling like oil on a pan. I was wondering why no one else had commented on that
HAhaah I loved how he called her out about the Instagram filters
I want Diane Kruger to be to Stephen Colbert what Diane Kruger was to Craig Ferguson.
i want diana kruger.
Diane Kruger actually seems like an incredibly delightful woman! Admittedly it feels as if she slips under the radar at times when it comes to standout roles in movies, but from now on, I'm going to keep an eye out!
She did one with Bryan Cranston that ive been wanting to see. It's a few years old but I haven't found it anywhere. Looked really good.
She is delightful. Very transparent . 100% natural. Enjoyed her ability to speak different languages.
Just realized I haven't watched _Inglourious Basterds_ in over a year. Time for a viewing.
Mélanie Laurent & Diane Kruger in a Tarantino movie it doesn't get much better than that.
yhea i might just pop in my "ib" dvd as well...cause im sure netflix is no longer showing it
Oh shit I haven't watched it this week!
Same ^^ At one point I was watching it everyday for about 2 weeks I think (don't ask why i don't know myself ^^)
Same, I'm pretty sure that I watched once this year
Im not a commentor but man that girl. Every word was awesome.
She is so versatile. I like how she is as an artist!
Stephen "have some wine, it's Friday"
Diane: "gee thanks"
5 minutes later: she curses like a sailor. Well played, Mr Colbert
Ahh, the days when Stephen Colbert had a new show on Fridays.
This is why I love Stephen. That was such a pleasant conversation without dominating it or making his guest feel uncomfortable.
James could never
Just for the reccord: we are not legally obligated to drink wine at work! It's indeed included in the Law that certain alcohols are permitted at lunch, it's an old law that is there just to give a little freedom ^^
No one said you're obliged to drink it, just that it had to be there
That's the point, it doesn't and in most cases isn't!
When she played as Queen Marie Antoinette on Farewell MyQueen, you can clearly she's speaks French with German accent...just like Marie Antoinette herself..she's awesome!
In the future there should definitely a movie in which Sophie Turner plays the younger version of a character and then Diene Kruger the older version. They are like twins
I agree
Maybe more time-travel shenanigans in the MCU? She looks more like Sophie than Famke Janssen does.
And OnceAgain but sophie is like 20+ something and Diane is 40+😂
For blind people maybe. Completely different mouth, nose, facial traits, hair. lol Maybe the eyes are similar.
Only if people got more beautiful with age (which does happen, occasionally).
(Maybe something about the hard jaw line)
Just admiring Colbert's interview style. So respectful of his guests.
I actually thought the opposite
But that may be due to the fact I don’t watch any interviews really.
@@paulasuzettebravo8597 same his comments actually made me so uncomfortable
I am french and totally agree with her ! Damn she is sooo right about that annoying attitude and behaviour behaviour...
Many people here seem mad, frustrated, jealous. Some other are really stupid and judge everything...
I spent 3 month on USA, and I could not understand why it was so easy to talk to people, and why some of them was nice with. and I finally felt more french in USA than in my country, proud of my culture, the legacy but dont like the mentality !!!
She's just so attractive damn I wonder what's it like to be that beautiful..
If that avatar is you I'm wondering how you are concerned about beauty.
That is me thank you. I understand that I'm not terrible to look at but I'm not one that makes people think "wow that girl is really beautiful" when they see me. That's just the truth.
Trudy Nguyen how do you know that?
Wheres the self confidence?? At least you have yourself as the avatar.
To beauty, there is the look, and you have it. All you lack is, maybe, confidence. She sure has a lot ^^
She was so beautiful in Troy.
What an amazing talent! Whoever has her on set already has an Ace in the hole!
her beauty and talent is a throwback to the classic actresses. she should be more famous.
Emma Klinsmann agreed
Colbert channeling his inner Craig Ferguson again... I love it!
Not enough though. Craig's interviews with her are gold. You could tell she was more comfortable there.
A HM Oh absolutely! Craig irreplaceable.
Graham Norton is also pretty good.
+shazz286 Graham is gay though, so he's not flirting with her
James Hoang i meant he's also as good as Craig at interviewing.
Colbert I feel is the more genuine out of the talk show hosts. He doesn’t seem fake like forced laughter. *cough* *jimmy fallon* *cough*
I completely agree. I can't watch Jimmy a lot for that very reason!
Agree
Jimmy Fallon is fake.
Or grovel before his guests like Jimmy Fallon
I’m sure it’s her ACCENT that got her out of trouble.
😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
As in cute white woman who plays men gets out of trouble? True.
th-cam.com/video/Uy4K-qt0m1Q/w-d-xo.html
I’m sure it’s her LOOKS that got her out of trouble.
Colbert: "what? You just came back from Sri Lanka? I had no idea!"
Also Colbert: "here are a bunch of pics i have of you in Sri Lanka"
You can tell Stephen was so smitten by her throughout the interview! Loved to see all that lowkey flirting back & forth :)
6 minute mark for the french accent
Diane: I went to Sri Lanka
Colbert: You WHAT?!?
Also Colbert: speaking of... I just printed off these photos of you in Sri Lanka
🤣🤣🤣
"Not a normal life but a great life." Honest answer, I love it.
If we are real for a second here German can be a sexy and beautiful language too.
Sure, German CAN. But French absolutely is.
French only works for woman tho.
ha ha, someone has a German complex!
+JGuilherme True
And that's what I've applied to learn it in college! But only as a last option.
"brad and angelina" loool rip
Plus je regarde ses interviews plus je découvre la classe et la simplicité de cette actrice.
7:49 that laughing is so natural and cute :3
down bad
I'm Polish and I can't do the polish accent when I speak English. When I try it, it sounds like Russian:(
Don't worry, deep down we are all Russian. ))))
@@andrewhawkings5198 (reads with strong russian accent)
@@viktorpetukhov727 Nailed it
Îm french and I sound Slavic for every English ppl I talked with 😂
I feel ya. I'm Italian and sound Indian when I try to put on an Italian accent when speaking English. It sucks 😂
"You went to Sri Lanka?" *pulls up pictures of the guest from Sri Lanka*
So glad you noticed it too.
I mean...aren't these things scripted?
Sorrowful Spaceship Yes, exactly. And that is why this is absurd. It is awfully scripted.
That one was a low
I wonder what her actual German accent sounds like.
Watch Inglorious Basterds! She plays an English spy undercover in Germany.
well since she trained herself out of it to play non-German roles she doesn't have an "actual" German accent anymore, she'd have to put it on.
SatanicHorse That's true.
Like "Vat dza f*ck! I vant dze eenturnet!"
Ed in Burgh I'm guessing mild American accent, I speak from a similar experience.
Oh my god. I'm french and i shocked her accent is peeerfeect !! No, no, wait in fact SHE IS PERFECT
She's adorable -when she's embarrassed- 24/7, which caused some very mixed emotions because she's surprisingly terrifying when she's shouting in a German accent.
Love her laugh, it sounds so real and hearty
10:08 "Let's move on" laughing stops. Ah, the magic of editing. I wonder what was actually said
Dude she's so fucking beautiful i cant even talk
Why does her laugh sound ...
… so natural. I love it!!!!!!
She's a very natural person
CANNNNNN YOU FEEEEEL
THE LOVEEEEEE
TONIGHT?
WITH STEPHEN COLBEEEEERT
HIS INTERVIEWS SOMETIMES ARE PIECE DE MERDE
IN FRENCH THATS A PIECE OF POO!
Of shit. Merde is shit ^^
Superibis dude, have you never seen the lion king? come on
chiefgunman I've seen the lion king in French ^^ How do you want me to get the reference (if there is one) ?
CAANNNN'TT STENCHONN THE MELENCHONN
Stephen you are blushing and flirting !
6:57 She pulled out The Führer real quick.😳
She has the disposition of some of the great early actresses of the late 80s/early 90s.
I could listen to her all day..
Can’t believe its been 15 years since Troy! (2004) She was like 25 at the time now shes 40 years old! Men time flys by so freaking fast!
She still looks amazing but the fact that she was 25 in Troy and now shes 40 years old its shocking!
Hollywood should get her on more movies, she is beautiful, speaks perfect English, talented and trilingual!
He used the graham Norton trick of plying his guest with booze.
Norton didn’t invent that. It’s been around for ages on TV and well before radio.
Hahah this is proof that Germans literally swear all the time, I cannot stop laughing :D She is so amazing, I love her!
Alissa Ditten
I’m so disappointed as a German to hear or read something like that. I mean, what are you expecting from us? It’s our language, so please remember, that there are other languages than yours. Sometimes I feel like for Americans English is the only language they prefer. Sooo, these Stereotypes need to stop.
