Not too much was actually left out in this episode, and there's actually a bit of anime original stuff (Roxy and Rudeus shoppping, the two of them in the bar, and the "two swords" bit from Paul). I kinda wish they kept in the bit where Roxy asks Rudeus if the spell he used to save her was the Emperor-tier spell "Absolute Zero." She says she thought it was because of how fast it was, and how it completely froze all the monsters. 13:50 given that teleportation isn't instant, even if he's not teleporting far, it's probably going to take more than a couple seconds, so it would be hard for him to use his demon eye to see that far ahead (he gets a headache if he tries to look too far, probably because the different possibilities start to increase exponentially).
Having read the novel he had absolutely no intention to cheat on Sylphie, he views Roxy through a worship filter for the gratitude he feels for helping him overcome his fear of people and didn't even consider Roxy as a partner. Also don't EVER consider the advice of man god as "the way things are supposed to go" that's all I'll say to not spoil anything.

They really went about 90% true to the novel with this episode, kinda saw it miles away since they skipped some parts in the Begaritt journey, just so they can plan this episode out to be as accurate as the source. Some of what Rudeus says at the beginning of the story is indefensible because the guy is fucked up. But you can see that he's gradually changing since the beginning. And here, Rudy is absolutely not in a romantic or sexual mood about Roxy. When he says that Roxy is small, he doesn't mean anything other than what he says. He doesn't even see the crush she has on him. Another point, just a reminder : the world of Mushoku is strongly inspired by Middle Ages. Polygamy is normal and common in this world. Actually, Lilia has been Paul's second wife for a long time at this point in the story (not least so that Aisha wouldn't be a bastard). It's the Millis religion that wants to put an end to this practice, just as the Church did in the Middle Ages.
I don’t see Rudy showing any romantic interest in Roxy at the moment. It’s like he’s two again seeking his teacher’s approval. Roxy on the other hand is showing interest. Rudy’s not noticing but Paul is and he seems to be implying two wives would be a good thing for him. I’m curious to how Roxy will act when she finds out he’s married with a child on the way. Polygamy seems not uncommon in this world but not every religion condones it. I’m not sure if I’m more excited to find Zenith or find out how Roxy and Rudy will react when his marriage comes up.

They really went about 90% true to the novel with this episode, kinda saw it miles away since they skipped some parts in the Begaritt journey, just so they can plan this episode out to be as accurate as the source. Some of what Rudeus says at the beginning of the story is indefensible because the guy is fucked up. But you can see that he's gradually changing since the beginning. And here, Rudy is absolutely not in a romantic or sexual mood about Roxy. When he says that Roxy is small, he doesn't mean anything other than what he says. He doesn't even see the crush she has on him.
Another point, just a reminder : the world of Mushoku is strongly inspired by Middle Ages. Polygamy is normal and common in this world. Actually, Lilia has been Paul's second wife for a long time at this point in the story (not least so that Aisha wouldn't be a bastard). It's the Millis religion that wants to put an end to this practice, just as the Church did in the Middle Ages.

I don’t see Rudy showing any romantic interest in Roxy at the moment. It’s like he’s two again seeking his teacher’s approval. Roxy on the other hand is showing interest. Rudy’s not noticing but Paul is and he seems to be implying two wives would be a good thing for him. I’m curious to how Roxy will act when she finds out he’s married with a child on the way. Polygamy seems not uncommon in this world but not every religion condones it. I’m not sure if I’m more excited to find Zenith or find out how Roxy and Rudy will react when his marriage comes up.
