Paul whipping out his two swords reminding us he wifed up the two best waifus in the whole series. What a fucking Chad. Rudy defintely will follow suit and take Roxy but the difference should be that Rudy asks for Sylphie's blessing first. AMAZING EPISODE. Roxy was so freaking cute, they did her non verbals so well!
I fucking hated Paul before and now he is my favorite character. He might be scum but the ladies keep going to him, I can't fault him for acting the way he does if it works so well
Interestingly, I was told that the "two swords" chat was anime original. It is rare to have something extra added that would make the story so much better. There were two other scenes that were anime original. The market scene where they bought Elie's new sword, and the chat they had at the tavern.
@@zam023 the two swords analogy is an anime original, but Paul saying he needed to say something to Rudeus but that it would ruin the party's mood was in the LN. it was debatable what he meant as I think he didn't look at Roxy either before saying that.
1:55 in his narration in the LN he says he caught a familiar scent and knew Roxy was somwhere near. He followed his nose. 2:30 Lilia actually washed them before the teleportation incident, and Rudeus was disappointed when he realized it after getting them back in Shirone. 14:24 he's supposed to look older, but the anime has kinda screwed up his age progression. He's actually supposed to be nearly Paul's height (Paul is 180cm, Rudeus is 175cm), and in Roxy's POV when Rudeus saves her, she thinks he looks somewhat like Paul. 22:10 look up Paul Gaiden 23:50 the subtitles are wrong, it's the magic circles of the sixth stratum. That's the last room of the sixth stratum where the adventuring party in the book couldn't get past - they put a stone in front of one of the circles, went into it, were all teleported randomly, and most of them were killed. Rudeus was trying to figure out which of the remaining two was the right one.
How Rudy found her was shown in his POV. He started remembering the tracking lessons he learned from Ruijerd. He started noting the marks of the Iron Crawlers (The Worms) on the ground, sometimes they led to walls and disappeared, then after some moment of thinking, he realized that Earth made by magic had diffferent coloration than Earth made by nature, once he realized that, he started noting inconsistencies on the map that Geese made, found a wall that had different color and blasted through it, a Mud Skull (Golem looking things) had made an Earth Wall to enclose the area where Roxy was so she couldn't escape, which is why Roxy couldn't find an exit from that area over a month. Once he got close to the wall he "Sensed God", blasted through the wall and the rest is story. -- We see this POV in the Drama CD for V12.
I read the novel and I don't remember this. was this added to the drama CD or something? in the novel he just knew where she was and he blasted through many walls to get to her. And this is emphatized later, he thinking "I somehow knew where she was" and he thought it might be a revelation from the man-god or something like that. We never get an explanation for this but later we get something that might be an indication of what happened here
Paul's like , Two "swords" is better than one. I have a feeling our boy Rudy is gonna be wielding three swords eventually, like he's flippin' Zorro from One Piece. 😂
I think he needs a new VA for next season, I would've preferred this season. His family jewels should have dropped a couple years ago at this point. I like his VA but she just doesn't sound like a young man post puberty. She's light years ahead of the English dub va on this issue though.
I actually agree with this. I think she does a great job for what it's worth, but as he gets older I think Sugita (Rudy's inner voice VA) should take over.
@@DefinitivelyZach if rudy's physical actual voice that comes out of the mouth of his new body is the exact same as his inner shut in otaku thoughts that would be pretty jarring and weird. Hard disagree on that one
Rudy has basically reverted back to his 5 year old self around Roxy, a person who saved him in a way she can't understand. He's likely played out in his head for years what meeting her will be like, spending time with her, talking to her, etc. She's kind of like a security blanket, she makes him feel safe and secure, his worship of her shows that. It's basically why he's not picking up on the signals that she likes him when everyone else is, his mental state has reverted back to how he interacted with her as a 5 year old, and he's just so eager to be around her again. Rudy is also in awe of Roxy because he realizes she's using her full repertoire of spells whereas he has just become complacent in casting Quagmire and stone cannon for the most part. She's basically inspiring him to work harder. Also while she can't do voiceless spellcasting Roxy has learned to shorten her incantations, so she doesn't have to say the entire incantation to make the spell work. A comment on Paul's second sword, it's actually magical in that it gets sharper and cuts more easily the harder the target is. The merchants didn't realize this and just thought it was a dull blade because it wouldn't cut bread or meat very well, but Paul recognized its potential and bought it. Also all labyrinths have a core, and a guardian monster that protects the core. It is theorized that this labyrinth merged with an ancient ruin that had a teleporter circle, which is why there are now all sorts of teleporters in the labyrinth and why this room looks the same, because this room is part of the original ancient ruin.
Yeah... Rudy was supposed to look older from much earlier on actually. He's supposed to only be a tiny bit smaller than Paul too! Which is another reason as to why Roxy had such trouble matching their looks and making a connection. Well, it's not that bad but I think it explains why the anime tries to show him in a different way in here to compensate.
Is it just me or have these recent episodes just seemed to fly by??? I swear I am totally caught off guard when it ends thinking, "There is no way it's done already!!!"

My head-canon is that Mangod actually intended for all this to happen but used reverse psychology on Rudy to shift the blame from himself for unwanted consequences. And, no, I don't need this to be confirmed or denied.
My theory is that Mangod made Rudy meet the demon eye emperess, which made her meet Roxy, Talhand and Elise and lured them to Begarit to kill her there
19:02 I am surprised no one has accidentally chop off her curls until now. I mean there is hardly any space in a dungeon, and they are swinging swords left and right, and Elie's hair takes up so much space >_
This episode was great and lots of leg kicking ensued while i was watching. However, the one thing that erks me is that he doesn't tell Roxy that he's married and has a kid on the way. It would just be the decent thing to do. I'm okay with him having multiple wives, i just think it should come up at some point. We know that he doesn't tell her at least until they go shopping for supplies, because Roxy is releaved when she hears that he doesn't have a girlfriend, (which is technically true, lol) he could've mentioned it just then. Although, given Rudi's propensity for being extremely dense he might not notice that Roxy is into him. He also might not think that it needs to come up, because he might think she is talking to him as a friend or teacher rather than a girl who likes him. A guy being dense to a girl's feelings for him is very realistic, so i do like that. Anyway, love your content and thanks for your time ❤
Your headcanon about how Rudy finds Roxy might be correct. The novel only really says he smells her nostalgic scent drifting around. But maybe it just meant she's been wandering in circles for a month there. Though, she hasn't bathed in a month, and the only "toilet" she had was the corner of that place she kept getting ported back to. So, after sleeping in a bathroom for a month that doesn't have a flush option... imagine that smell....
The thing is all the room she is in is closed off, only connected with each other by tele circle forming a closed off loop, so Rudy shouldnt be anywhere near that loop and seperated by rock wall and smell didn't spread through. Maybe the god thing Rudy mentioned is Fate (ln16+) connecting them Or maybe the walls simply have air vent
The matter with You finding Rudeus's appearance strange is simply Studio Bind's messy, inconsistent, and poor character design. It has always been like this since season 1. There was never a consistency on anyone's design... Rudeus at this point in the story, in the books, is suppose to look way older and way more mature. He really looks just like Paul. He was suppose ot look like this since the beginning of season 2 and his affair with Sara. You can look up illustrations of the novels until volume 12 to see for yourself. So I believe Bind is confused on how to draw Rudeus, since they usually draw him so childish even though he is an adult. The result is this mess of a design.
The character design wasn't bad the the people that work in it just not professional as the S1 animator. That's why it's not consistent the director on the animation. And the people work in it im sure it's just an amateurs I mean not an amateurs2 but not as pro as the professional animators. Even for the director, I'm sure there's still some professional animator and director in it but there's also some of lack director in it. Let's just hope S3 will be worked by a prefossional person. Especially S3 is the best part of the Show I'm sure no one hates this series after S3 came out.
