Additionally it provides a vehicle to showcase what we as viewers - like the Milishians - might see as a character flaw, while forcing us to admit that they - the Asurans - generally don't see it like that. It gets even more meta when you then think about Rudy being originally Japanese, haha. Can't deny, it certainly helps provide some context around how meaningful it is that Zenith may have came to accept Lilia as family and why Lilia is doing what she can to help everyone rescue Zenith. While Lilia is Asuran, Zenith is Milishian and has had to accept that part of her husband's culture to keep her family together. She had to compromise her morals or else be okay with sending her friend Lilia and Rudeus's sister (Aisha) away to die in the cold winter. --- Tl;dr: Asurans are pervs, and that's pretty normal for them. The scenes where Rudeus was shopping with Roxy, the bar talk, and Paul's advice were anime originals. I also think that Paul's analogy is a bit misunderstood by a few. For a bit of context, Paul bought his left sword at a bargain in Rapan as the seller thought it was useless as it can't cut meat, only for Paul to recognize that it had an ability which was「Armor Break」. It's a demon sword where the harder the enemy's armor, the sharper it gets, so he mainly uses it against heavily armored enemies, which was why he said he's grown attached to both his swords as it both have different roles. It wasn't emphasized but Paul did say that one sword used to be enough until he had the second. Actually nudging Rudeus that he might want to be more aware that he's unconsciously grasping for another sword, and for him to draw a clear line before it's too late that he can't let go of Roxy. So I don't think what Paul meant was for Rudeus to get two wives, but to make the dense Rudy realize what he's doing and that Paul will be respecting his decisions.

I believe Rudy want to live a fully life in this world, one part of it is to accept what this world offers (yes de polygamy argument’s token) But hear me out, before Sylphie introduction Roxy mended part of Rudeus soul and without her he wouldn’t even meet his wife, for someone like Rudy the first love have an special place, to me he would married Roxy before anyone else and even he would have being faithful to her forever if she had reciprocated his feelings in some way, that didn’t happen but a man’s heart is stubborn. I believe we are gonna see a dilemma about all of this but in my humble opinion Rudy and Roxy belong together, it’s just “the story tries” to keep them away from each other
