  • Welcome to Blender Quick Tips!
In this quick Blender tutorial you will learn how to create circular arrays without mesh deformation.
The programme I am using to create this 3D effect is called Blender and you can download it for free here:
    www.blender.org/
This is a follow up on my previous Quick Tip 001 as I was receiving a lot of requests regarding object deformation using the curve path method.
This is an essential technique which will be a great addition to any 3D artists arsenal.
As always, I encourage you to leave a comment if you have any issues!

Legit solid tutorial. Even with other methods, this is still a valuable method with quick setup and good payoff.

If you change the location, rotation and scale, It is good to hit Control A and choose "all transforms"

Oh my god thank you so much!!!! your tutorial is so helpful!!! i was struggling with objects scale in array modifier, and now i know that all i needed was to go to edit mode

In this case, you can write Z 360/8. Divide the full circle into quantity in the array.

you could also use a polygon curve for the array, who's sides are the length of your individual parts

I had a problem and this video helped me solve it! I was trying to make a road, but when trying to place planes on a path, the planes just made a non sense path... Turns out I just needed to apply the scale of the road...

This doesnt work when you want to do it on a oval curve for instance. Its amazing how blender can make such a simple thing very hard. Is there a way around this?

    • @NebMotion

geometry nodes, instance on points is the easiest way. i havent done a tut onthis yet

and nowdays there's probably a geometry node way to do it.. just wanted to have cubes running along the spline and not change cube shape.. and got 3 tutorials that told that's not how it works.. thx anyway, I remembered I was trying to get this as well..

When I spin the plain axes, my cubes get deformed. The more cubes I add the more deformed they get. Can you please help me fix this?

    • @NebMotion
      @NebMotion  ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not sure, you could try use geo nodes instead, use instance as points and plug the cube into the object input

Just scale the bezier circle on the x or y axis
