I kept hearing something rolling around up there. Watched this video and the screw fell out. Great video! Helped me a bunch!
All I needed was the first part taking the first area off. A screw had come loose and fell down in the console and the rattle was driving me crazy. Thanks for showing how to remove the first part. I was able to find and reset the screw.

Just wanted to say thanks bc I thought something was rolling around in one of the vents and was so irritated that the console was falling out just bc that just shouldn’t happen. Anyways, it would have cost hundreds I bet at the dealership and now no annoying sound of screws rolling around and the console is screwed back in tight as it should be.. and did it myself for FREE!! Thank you so much… I never would have known otherwise…

I had to put tape on one of the screw holes. This held the screw in place for easier install

I just bought a used 2018 from a dealer. Didn't notice this was loose when I test drove it. Saw it when I was halfway home. Thanks for the video! I ordered screws before I realized they were still laying inside.
My 2018 console has came loose twice . It a factory defect..

Nice video. Was able to pop off the panel and 2 connectors, found the two fallen out screw. Got the easier one back in first, then the more difficult one. Tip - use a magnetic screwdriver.

My fingers were too big to hold the screws when reinstalling. I used a hook nosed needle nosed plier to hold it and seated. I had a few more cables to remove but otherwise the instructions were spot on. Better lighting helps. I used some lock-tight, great suggestion, by the way! Appreciate the detail in the video. Spot on for my 2018 Chevy Tahoe.

Thanks - was exactly what I needed to fix my truck. TIP: the screws are awkward / tricky to get back in. I put a strong magnet on a screwdriver to help keep the screw on the tip until I could get it started.

Thanks for this video. We just bought a truck that didn't notice until later. A sheet metal screw sticking up through the roof a distance away from the antenna. Maybe it is because of the console?? Outside this screw has to be dealt with. Maybe it's leaking when it rains on the electronics?

Great video. This has been driving me nuts for weeks. I ended up using a magnet to hold that tough screw in place as my sausage fingers wouldn’t fit. Didn’t take long at all. Thanks for the help!

This was perfect, thank you. Only suggestion for people with fat fingers like me. I used a small piece of tape on the edge of the screws to hold in place and clicked the consul back in. I could not get my fingers up there to get the screws started.

Can't thank you enough, as it turned out I only had to disconnect 2 wires to fix the problem. Both screws backed itself out.

So it’s just a matter of screws coming out? I’ll have to go in and see. I bought a 2018 Silverado last year and did not notice the loose overhead console until after the 2nd or 3rd service visit. I swore the service team had done it😊. Thanks for sharing.

What happened if only one screw fell out and there’s no other screw in sight…
Take it apart and take the screw to hardware store and have them match it
