The thing about Reiner's talk with his family at the table is that, when they ask him what the demons were like, he tries hard to tell the worst things he saw and they are just common nonsense from ordinary people, that's why his Mom makes that horrified face, because she expected a response consistent with Marley's dehumanization of the Eldians within the walls.
yep. exactly. What Reiner described showed they had just common traits with others.
The other thing is that when he said that “there were all sorts of them there”he referred to the gang using the term “yatsura” which is a term that is usually only used to refer to human beings, and in some contexts could suggest that the group of people being referred to is one the person is relatively close with, kind of like saying “those guys/that bunch” in a familiar, playful way.
To the rest of his family, esp to his mom, his usage of yatsura made it sound like not only was he acknowledging the “Paradis devils” as actual humans, he even seemed to imply that he’d grown to be close with them too.
I never thought of it like that. I thought the show gives you the perspective of the brainwashed Marley-Eldians. We hear Reiner describing them as normal people, but they have been brainwashed to believe that similar actions would result in punishment in some form. They are all so ruined that the thought of giving somebody else a smaller half is the same as wishing for death and dishonor.

Griece was among the Eldian restorationists in Grisha's network. He was the first person kicked off the wall for the Titans to chase - a.k.a. he was eaten by Grisha's colleagues (and wife) when Grisha met The Owl. Colt and Falco are his bloodline, can't remember if he was their dad or uncle. That's why Colt and Falco try so hard in the Warrior program - it's to clear their name of the stain of being a Marlean traitor.

dont know if u picked this stuff up. Dw no spoilers, just stuff they've mentioned in this episode: The guy talking to Reiner in that scene is Ymir's successor, meaning he ate Ymir and gained her titan's abilities. The girl is a titan youve seen before but youll figure out exactly soon enough. This takes place four years after zeke's defeat- aka when erwin died in season three.
Also keep an eye out for end credits in one of the next few episodes
Trust me, it took me like 3 watch throughs of the early episodes of this season to wrap my head around everything and everyone
Reiner was 12 when he attacked the wall in season 1. If this was somehow the past, he would have to be younger than 12.
