    28:36 you're not supposed to know who that guy is, but he had an appearence at the end of season 3 in Grisha's flashback when Grisha bumped into him with his sister when running towards the exit from Liberio in order to see the blimp but that one's hard to catch if you don't look for it specifically.

    I mean it’s just insane that the show gets to this point with its characters yet it all feels natural and not forced at all. And it only makes more sense the more you watch. This is one of those shows where the reveals and twists are so amazing on first watch but even when you’re blown away initially, you’re really only seeing a portion of the play because the curtain hasn’t been lifted yet. Back in Season 1 the actions of so many characters makes so much more sense because of the reveals in Season 2 and 3. And once you reach season 4, the actions of characters still makes sense but the curtain still isn’t lifted. It’s a show where the characterization of characters only deepens and grows more thematic as it goes on. The struggles of characters start as understandable and turn into something way more thematic and prolific. Also it’s truly one of the best shows at making you understand and almost root for all sides despite having a batshit insane story. Imagine watching season 1 and thinking you’d understand and almost be rooting for the titans that destroyed the wall and killed thousands.

    4x13 is my favorite "quiet" episode of the show. It really is the hinge for the whole second half of the season. There's one more grand trio of episodes which I hope you watch (or at this point did watch) all together 19,20, and 21.

    Holy shit! I respect the Alex O'Connor shout-out sooo much! He is genuinely so good!
    Also, the fact that you understood that there will be a discussion about free-will and determinism in the ending episodes, this early, is just genius sight mate! Like genuinely, I've never seen someone understand foreshadowings this much (hell, I don't even see the foreshadowing, so I don't know how you got it)! So mate, you are spot on, and for the first time, I am standing and clapping, because this deserve much respect!

    This show is the first series of reactions I'm watching from you but it's one of my favorites, I'm glad to see you're really appreciating the amazing writing of the series, symbolism in it, complex controversial morals and philosophy of this story etc. It's why SnK is my favorite anime, it's something that satisfies everything I need, it has fun and hype moments that I'd love when I was 13 and it has that depth and complexity I love now at 25.

    Sasha's dad perfectly encapsulates the truth of this world. Grudges do nothing but sow more grudges. It's only when someone can let go of a grudge can the world heal.

  • @brianburkhardt3692
    @brianburkhardt3692 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    S4E13 (Children of the Forest) is probably my favorite episode of this anime. It’s not the most plot heavy and it doesn’t have the most action, but the distilled emotion between the three key characters is just *so* powerful.

    • @brianburkhardt3692
      @brianburkhardt3692 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For actual plot, there’s an episode coming up that’s my favorite. And my favorite action might be that Eren V Reiner grapple battle ending in Bertholdt dropping like a skeletal nuke. But CoTF is such a perfect episode. Really shows how generational trauma can be stopped or continued in a moment.

    • @brianburkhardt3692
      @brianburkhardt3692 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Only once you’ve grown old enough to understand trauma can you put an end to it. But so often making the choice to end it means some victims go without revenge. And that isn’t necessarily your call to make, and sometimes even being aware of and putting your foot down to stop the cycle of violence will only lead to more violence between others. The best you can do is be the best you you can be.

    28:29 Yes. Grisha and Faye bumped into him the first time the outside world was revealed to the audience
    I loved Children of the Forest... Niccolo's lines are so well-written for a character we just met this season. Also how deep and circular the story goes that even after Sasha's death, her character is still relevant...

    02:03 She said "koibito" which means boyfriend/girlfriend, so the translation should be "I thought they were a couple."
    When Sasha dies, her last words were "Niku":
    - Niku: Meat in Japanese
    - Niku: Nick in katakana
    So we don't know if her last words were meat or if she was calling her boyfriend.

    In this second fight of Levi vs Beast Titan, it is shown that if you leave Levi in his natural combat habitat... there is nothing you can do against him. Just like what happened against the Female Titan. At that time, Levi did not know a lot of information about titans (regeneration, the speed or priority they can give to regeneration, the solidification of some parts, etc.). The first time he fought the Beast Titan, he already knew more details about hardening and regeneration, but he had to fight the Beast Titan in the open field. This second time... he knows his tricks, he is in a place with tall trees, perfect for using the three-dimensional equipment, and if that were not enough... Levi has been carrying the improved thunder spears over the last few years. Zeke has nothing to do against him XD

    The story of what surrounds Sasha, which began with that chapter that saves the girl, is collected by Isayama in this way, joining points from different characters to give it a sense and a brutal meaning. Hate brings more hate, we must take the children out of the forest. And for that message to come from Sasha's father just after meeting his daughter's murderer, it is... simply epic.

    Mikasa has always been and will always be free because she has the ability to act of her own free will, evaluate options and choose, but her decisions have a causal origin, if this were not the case, we would be talking about metaphysical free will. In this case her will would be the first cause of her actions and would be exempt from prior determinations. Mikasa is free because her decisions are based on the conditions of her environment, perceptions, desires and emotions, and are determined by various factors, such as biological predispositions (non-genetic), and her learning history. Her decisions are caused by a mental process based on her beliefs and desires, she is free because decides based on her knowledge, values and needs, and not by other sets of causes such as pathologies or external coercion.

    Two legandary episode

  • @TomiThemself
    @TomiThemself 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The title? I mean... I don't want to be that one, but duh? I mean, I know that we were meant to route for Eren no matter what, but let's get some empathy and morals into this - no matter what intention, either Eren OR Reiner had, an invasion, a genocide, a terrorist attack in this case or any other kind of aggression, is not forgivable! It's just a matter of different point of view (in another words, we would feel the same if we've got Reiner's point of view from the first episode). At the end of the day, no matter the ideology and/or the reason why someone's violent, it is on behalf of innocent people dying... And forgiving them "because they had their reason", is nothing more than being terrorist-apologetic.
    I think it shouldn't be controversial to say that while Eren is greatly written character, he can still be evil... Let's not be blinded by our biases towards the main characters, otherwise we won't understand what the genius author Hajime Isayama meant by this story - violence births violence. Love your reactions, but don't be naive! 😉
