    Bought my 7.3 brand new. Still driving it. 180 k and ready for another run from the east coast to the west coast. The reason the oil pumps need replaced is that parts do wear. Especially no one knew to drain the HPOP reservoir. Oil sludge will kill these injectors. And if you do replace the pump and no change . the injector O- RINGS ARE LEAKING.

    • @rc9660
      @rc9660 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      LOL. The Hpop drains itself every few seconds into the injectors, then right back into the oil pan, Lpop brings oil up to Hpop from pan. Repeat, repeat, repeat every few seconds, fact.

    • @tomoconnor7528
      @tomoconnor7528 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rc9660 Yeah so you are saying that sludge does not lay in the reservoir .oil rails being shut down in extreme conditions. That the crap gets in the injector solenoids and cause wear. and therefore no start in cold weather. And all the bullshit about the oil circulates. Small/ Big block chevys ford dodge. always had sludge at the back of the head in the rocker galley. And seen the oil changed on a regular basis. Not a chevy fan but paid the bills. so back to the crap in the oil rails? The top end holds 3 quarts. And the circulation rate just because its " HIGH PRESSURE" It dont flow very fast to have an exchange rate that you would think it would flush out any crap. Well it dont. And that lil bit of crap causes all the problems.

      HPOP feeds HEUI injectors causing more reliable fuel injection.

    • @Golgi-Gyges
      @Golgi-Gyges 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      HEUI injectors need their own high pressure oil pump - and still have an oil pump for the engine, which is called the low-pressure oil pump.

    • @motox103
      @motox103 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Low pressure oil pump lubricates the engine and feeds oil to a small resivior for the HPOP the HPOP feeds the heads high pressure oil to supplu the injectors, if the injectors need more oul volume then the pressure will drop. So more volume means you should be able to sustain the needed pressure. These engines don't have high pressure fuel pumps, it is all done with in the injector with high oil pressure.

      Hook up a OBD scanner and a laptop with freeware. Look at your IPR pressure while towing something heavy with your foot in it. You should see it down around 500 psi or so with the engine idling, then as you start accelerating it should run up to 2500-3000 psi. If it stops below 2500 or so, then replacing it will help. Apparently it was a bit of a crap shoot with the factory pumps. Some would put out 3200 no matter what flow rate, others would fade out if you required continuous 2500+, others would never make it above 2200 or so. I have two 2000 F250's that are identical in every way, one is much stronger than the other, it's pump will hold 2800 as long as I need it to. The other will maintain 2200, but that's as far as it goes.

      @@reggieanderson885 no it’s the original with 316k miles. Rebuilt 3 years ago and it started a slow weep through one of the plugs and I think the pump gasket. I installed the adrenaline after a hiccup it’s running good. Def burped the oil rail in the head by removing the ICP.

    Will this pump make any power or fuel mileage improvements?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this pump really shines when there is a demand (hauling). If you do a lot of hauling where this pump raises your efficiency the truck will get better fuel economy as well (depending on overall health of the truck). You will be very pleased with the Adrenaline.

      Obviously you must not tow much. Make a visit to a big rodeo, or a campground for RV's. You very rarely see a Chevy. Why is that? They can't haul weight and last.

      @@bullstuff3938 if it did tow the ford and trailer it would be made possible by Cummins. Everyone knows the Cummins packaging (Dodge) is junk iron. The ultimate rig would be a Cummins engine mated to an Allison transmission then installed in a Ford Superduty.
