    FWIW, the biggest/quickest killer of a starter is low voltage. On an "inductor" which in this case means electric motor, if your voltage goes down, the current goes up to do the same amount of "work". Current is what causes heating, which will literally melt the bushings out of the starter. Having a jump from another vehicle, or a big battery charger is a savior of starters. Even if you are just beginning to try to crank one, especially when it has been run dry of fuel, jump it off.

      You may be right but I don't think it's that serious. My 7.3 has 415k miles and for half of those the previous owner only ran one battery. Start became weak but never failed.

    I would have taken the serpentine belt loose at least to get it out of way.. 1/2 breaker bar and off it goes. for the rest it can be a bit of bear but not bad.. wonder if it might be good time to take the back pressure tube off to clean.. they get crapped up with crap over time. I found a square type weed eater line shoved down and put on a drill to moving it in and out when turning at a good speed works well.

      The adrenaline pump is good until it is not. They are reman pumps with their parts inside. My pump failed in a year. Dieselsite was good about it but I had to put a OEM reman in, didn’t have time to wait. ( you have to send the pump back and then they test it and then wait for it to ship back )
      Mine was bad, blown relief valve. So they sent me a new one.
      Now I have a new pump setting on the shelf.

    Hi, its sounds confusing re: "diesel site tell to remove that spring and you will be re-using "these" fittings on their new Adrenalin pump" so by the "fittings" does that mean you use your old check valves, in your new Adrenalin pump or do you just remove the check valves from your old pump, for some reason?

    • @thoroughbreddiesel
      @thoroughbreddiesel  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Sorry if I misspoke there. The main takeaway is you will be removing the fittings from your stock pump and reusing them on the Adrenaline. Do not use the spring and check valve from the old pump, just the fitting.

    Flow more oil huh? What did we open up here to flow more oil? Are we flowing more oil simple because the pressure is higher? Unless we changed something in the system to open it up to more flow how can we flow more oil? If it needs 3000psi and its getting 3000psi (just picking a number) how can we flow more oil without increasing the pressure or opening something up in the system (bigger hole)? There must be a opening of larger size if the pressure is the same. I'm pretty sure you guys didn't open anything up in the system, heads or injectors etc etc. Where is the increased flow coming from? Are we just bypassing more oil? Do we need increased pressure? Does increased pressure put a strain on other parts? Trying to understand where this greater flow is coming from. Maybe the stock pump is just on the marginal side? Mines been running now for 25 years so....Still runs like a top. I doubt its marginal.

Reason I ask is I had some 175cc from ol swamp donkey years ago on a 95 7.3 & I never had enough pump to fully utilize them. I tried the 99 & up pump with little success & really didn’t like the long cranks due to the resivor draining back with the different ipr setup
