I tore those stinking strainers out. I plumbed in an inline strainer ahead of the fuel pump and mounted it to the frame. That was nearly 80,000 miles ago and had zero issues. The local Ford stealership wanted to charge me $1,800 to pull the strainer. I told them to pound sand and did it for myself in about 2 hours.

The screens filter return fuel before it goes into the tank or back to the fuel pump. If the tank is empty the return fuel will just recirculate back to fuel pump. the fibers in the screen are from the fuel filter. Normal happens on trucks that only see a new fuel filter every 10 years (exaggeration but you get my point.). Due to the return fuel recirculating if the tank is empty, when you run out of fuel in a 99-03 7.3 you are OUT!! there is nothing left in the tank, the lines, the filter bowl and only maybe an Oz or two in each head.

I’m about to do this for the third time on my 02. Next nice day I get. (I don’t have the luxury of a garage, unfortunately).
This time, I’m doing the HUTCH MOD tho. Would really love to Harpoon it too. Times are tough tho, and new injectors, KC300X, etc have really set me back. So I’ll do what I can afford…truck really came alive tho with the 180/30 and 300x stage 2 .84, up-pipes, hydra, etc. Really enjoying the truck.

Any videos on how to clean the vent tube? I had the harpoon mod done thinking that was going to fix the issues of when the tank gets remotely full having fuel spit out of the filler neck. So it still takes forever if i want a full tank for fuel.
So tank isn't venting properly and guessing the tube is clogged?

#2 diesel flashpoint temperature or when it off gases enough vapors to be flammable can be as low 125 degrees Fahrenheit. Some documentation gives a range of 125 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Just food for thought if gets poured on black pavement in the summer it can become flammable some cases stay safe.

Getting ready to do a inline water fuel separate filter to keep it from getting to the fuel bowl seen people pay no kind to the water in fuel light and have a mess. So keep it from ever getting to the bowl. Also see people do fuel bowl deletes but Iv never had issues with mine dumping fuel in the Valley so there’s really no need for me to put the money and time into it

I have a 2002 F350 Dually 7.3 when it's cold out I have no power. Push gas pedal down nothing. Night creep a little. But once it gets a little heat in her she will slowly start to go. Once warmed up she will go. Any ideas?

Is it louder than normal? No boost? It might be the turbo bypass (exhaust back pressure valve) my 1997 still has it and it cycles when cold, but opens up when you push the pedal hard enough. I have heard it doesn’t open and you lose boost and thus no power.

What if you splashed a bottle of everclear or pour some ethanol in the tank to evaporate the little bit of water and algae that was left and made it easier to clean and dry completely? Would that work or would it be more trouble than good?
