Just reached 3,300 miles after 2 months on my 2023 MYP. It's so much fun to drive.
No kidding. That’s the problem 😜thanks for watching!
Always good to see another informative video.
Thank you! Means a lot!
Great review! Model Y Performance is a solid car!! I have 18,000 miles on mine and is still brand new.
Thank you very much! It’s an awesome car for sure. I appreciate you watching and subscribing!
Rock on 🤘 to your Tesla 😊😊
Thank you!
Nice video. When I lived in the Peoples Republic, they were strict on no front license plates and tinted passenger windows. Has that not given you any problems?
Out of all the Tesla channels this one is the most honest one others come up with issues for views I also have a 2022 model Y performance same miles and so far so good no issues to report other then replacing all four wheels 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you that means a lot! My 50,000 mile Model 3 review is coming soon and just as honest.
Check out our Model 3 50,000 mile review. th-cam.com/video/PaKfn3IKAKA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2bBqNiMAuMSA-rHC
Great video as usual. I have a late 2021 Tesla Model Y Performance, and what I did is I upgraded from my original pirelli summer tires to the all seasons michelin 4s tires. I also put 295's in the back and 275's in the front. This improved the ride quality, as the tires were not overstretched and it squared off the car. It also provides additional rim protection. Think about it. I had 5 friends follow this and no complaints
I'm pretty sold on the idea, probably after the Tesla Takeover, I'll put new rears on it. So for a bit I'll have 295's rear, 255 fronts
@@TeslaTipsTrips you will definitely love the look of the beefy tires, as they won't be so stretched out
I purchased my Model Y Performance two weeks ago. So far love it, immediately swapped out all 21’s (and sold them) for aftermarket 19” Rims and 275/45-19’s. Looks amazing and rides WAY better while also providing great rim protection.
If I could only share a picture here I would show you
@@jmanjrvery interesting. How did you go about selling the 21” rims and wheels? Was it as easy as just selling it on eBay? I would like to do the same thing but switch to the 20” wheels.
Cool review. I wonder what the battery degregation is like after 30k miles... How many miles does the power bar show when at 100% charge?
I can do a video on that, but generally it doesn't concern me. Thanks for watching.
Great summary video!! Love MYP 2022 with 8k miles on it. Could be the roads, but it seems to ride rougher lately. Do I have a valid reason to schedule a service appointment or not really since nothing is broken that I can see?
Probably not, it’s just the nature of this car. Thanks for watching!
Very interesting comparing. I have a a ‘22 3P that is 19 months old and 30k miles. I have pretty much the same experience. No issues, just tires, and cabin filter. I do have full PPF and tint. I’ve got a few nicks in the PPF. I had to have my windshield repaired from a chip. I have TONS of tiny chips or abrasions in the windshield. That is the worst thing. Due to my commute being 45 miles at 70-75mph my avg whp is 304. Also due to the fact I went from a 235 to a 265 tire. I replaced the wheels from 20 to a 19 and see much better ride comfort. Otherwise we are very similar!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience, it's cool to compare. I appreciate you watching!
@3:31 shows poor alignment at side marker. I understand that has improved.
I took delivery November 29th MYP still HW3 vision and my odometer is 4999. I’ll upload some reels.
What about the driver's seat headrest? Mine (2021 MYLR) bubbled on me last year by ~24k miles. Tesla service came out and replaced it free (at first they claimed hair products, but I have had a military short cut for the last ~40 years and only use basic shampoo).
I have not seen the bubbling head rest on either of our cars Model 3 at almost 50k miles and Model Y at 30k miles. So far so good, I treat it with the 303 Protectant featured in the video. Thanks for watching!
Great stuff! re cabin filters @7:46, local Tesla Service center has done mine for like $30 (I already bought filters/coil cleaner spray)... good deal vs the hassle of getting in there...
but mine is model 3, maybe Y differs.. but $150 seems very high??
Wow that’s a great deal. I’ll see what ours does it for. My 3 is starting to get stinky again. Thanks for sharing and watching!
Ok just put this in the app. $66 for my Model 3. Not bad when $47 is for filters and spray anyway.
Well, after they reviewed my original request to include Kool-It coil cleaner it went up to $187🤨no thanks
Need an alignment for sure if it is wearing more on the inside or outside of tires.
Probably, but the tires need to be replaced anyway
@@TeslaTipsTrips Yes but if you don't get an alignment when you get new tires the new tires will do the same thing.
Get the proper size tires when you replace. 295 in the rear and 275 in the front.
I'm considering it. Any rubbing issues? Thanks for watching!
No rubbing issues at all. Been running the tires for over a year. Less harsh, looks better and helps prevent curb rash.
@@RT-zg9qi can you link the set?
This is an interesting video. Would you ever suggest anyone buy a used Tesla with over 50,000 miles - out of warranty? Or would that person be screwed with any repairs? Thanks.
Thank you. I can't make that recommendation as every used car is different, but they do seem to be holding up well, and remember the battery and drive unit warranties are far longer than the basic 4 year/50k. My Y for instance has an 8 year / 120k mile battery/drive unit warranties. I appreciate you watching.
Car looks great after 30K!
Thanks! You should see it clean 😉 thanks for watching and subscribing!
Hello, where is the matte black dash cover from?
That is from Tesmanian, which was a 1 piece, but I notice they only make a 2 piece version now, perhaps there were issues. Thanks for watching!
$2000 for tires is a lot of money. Your paint finish looks new. Nice useful selection of accessories. I agree keep Band Aids along. Tesla needs a manual door release like ice cars. Good video.
21 inch tires cost a lot. Thank you (paint) Thank you (accessories) Teslas do have manual door releases. Thanks for watching
Research about Tesla manual door release before posting away aggressively!
I have to agree that’s a big number to spend on tires that wear down that fast. My Telluride has 20 inch tires and I spent $1000 on all 4 including alignment after getting 55k on my originals. Definitely a factor. But man that acceleration is addicting lol.
at 4:55 nice orange peel paint job.
Thank you, bought it myself
Where did u get that hat!??? Link pleaseeee? 😁
That is a Tesla original that is no longer available. Got it a couple of years ago. Thanks for watching!
Do the alignment so that your new tires wont wear unevenly like your old ones and you wont have to replace them so fast !
I'm hearing from other users, and Michelin reps at the Tesla takeover confirmed, the rear alignment won't matter on a Performance. Michelin said they back them up to 45,000 and will prorate a new set.
Where is the best place to find Tesla owner groups? FB?
Facebook usually for your area.
Which one would drive better the 3 or the y performance for both?
I prefer the 3, my wife prefers the Y, so I recommend you drive both to judge for yourself. Thanks for watching!
Dude! Why have you not painted over your "rash"? It is more noticeable and crappy when your wheels are spinning. Use black Acrylic paint and a q-tip and dab it on. Black blends in perfectly.
I actually have the correct touch up paint for my wheels. No time. Busy making videos!😝
@@TeslaTipsTrips I love your videos. I live in the San Fernando valley and have learned a lot from your videos.
Did you replace tires yet?
Not yet, waiting until after Tesla Takeover
count yourself lucky that your MY Performance didn't come with Pirelli summer tires. My back tires were wasted at 19K..
Ours delivered a week after they started using All Season Michelins. Very thankful as it’s a commuter car 😉thanks for watching!
what about the degradation?
