I really hope that they make a speed champions DeLorean that can be converted into the Back to the Future car. With all of the new building techniques and pieces it would look so much better than the Ideas one.
I definitely think it's going in that direction. I think they just wanted to let the creator version shine on its own first (there is a large creator version right now FYI). And then they will probably do a speed champions one.
The fact that the designers care and listen to the fans is awesome. Those tail lights prints are exactly the sort of thing fans have been asking for, and for them to have been implemented is such a great refresher! Thank you to the Speed Champions design team for all their hard work! I hope they allow you to do another interview when the next wave releases. :)

The change to 8-stud really shows the improvement it makes on the cars as compared to the 6 stud versions it needed the added length/width as those proportions were way out, and as we can see overall a better designs is achieved will be getting the DB5 first but can't wait for this set. I still like the purple challenger and will try and get that to display with this one as i think they complement each other plus i like dodge but would prefer more ford builds

LEGO is making a mistake by _NOT_ releasing a double pack. What other iconic car movie franchise offers such a chance? Speed Racer!? Disney's Cars!? A Fast & Furious Dodge Charger & Toyota Supra double pack would fly off shelves and websites in under 10-seconds.
Even if they did a double pack based on F9 with Dom and Letty, Ramsey as it would be more current/easier to source material and the cars are similar but of course the Brian Supra Build would be better
For the fast and the furious Lego Speed Champions theme, they could chose Brian’s Toyota Supra Mk4 next And for the James Bond Speed Champions theme, they could chose the Lotus Esprit from ‘The Spy who Loved me’ next
i doubt they gonna carry about the same movie themed cars. it’s too much of a hassle and buyers won’t appreciate the repetitive ideas. People rather want to see new themed sets like a back to the future delorean, or bumblebee from transformers. there are many more ideas to choose from.
Great set :) I modified mine into a Mad Max style swamp machine using larger (older) wheels... Want to buy another of the same set, when I can see it on offer... Great Video too!
This one turned out more more impressively built than at first glance. I'm really excited to pick both up now! It's funny how your roof fix wasn't included in the original because it's so good! Though that Dom minifig is... goofy as hell.
One of the high tier Speed champions sets, I’ve been collecting and building them since 2014, this is up there for me, great detail and it’s a very cool model
Batman's Muscle Car is my favorite unofficial Speed Champions model :D Was a bit sceptical about that one but it does look better live that it does on the box, solid set for a probably good price.
This is a very nice set, definitely an upgrade from the 2019 charger, but the wheel covers make me want to cry they don't look good at all. The roof is very good and the vents on the side are a nice detail, the engine is very good proportional.

I would love to get a Back to the Tuture Delorean or just a regular Delorean DMC-12. It’s such a classic car, with the new electric version that they just unveiled. It’s would be such a good opportunity to make a speed champion Delorean. I for a side note. I would love to get a new and improved speed champion Bugatti Chiron. I know it probably won’t happen and it’s not a classic movie car. But I think it deserves the 8 wide stud treatment. Anyways I’m really really exited for the step Lego is taking the speed champions line. We really needed good quality models in a smaller scale and because of that a cheaper price. I hope they some day even wonder over to other vehicles like space chips or just smaller collectable models from our favorite franchises.
It would be funny to see an 8 wide speed champions back to the future delorean. Then we have even more comparisons to make! Edit: I would also like to see more speed champions trucks, Like the dodge ram or Ford F:150 Lightning
They should release the Toyota AE86 Trueno from Initial D, and the minifigure should look like Star Wars - Clone Wars minifigures, because it would look like a character from the Anime
I have a couple of 6 wide speed champs cars and the current 8 wide Countach. The 8 wide are a lot better proportioned and I really like this Charger. As someone who grew up in the 80s I’d love to see a General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard, my favourite childhood tv show of all time. A-Team van would be a second choice. My favourite film of all is Mad Max. The last of the V8 interceptors would be superb
Although the roof is loose, I think that the design has gotten better from the 6 stud wide charger from 2019 this review also helped me decide if I want to buy it :)
Very cool, detailed review/comparisons. Stunning how much larger this version of the charger is than any of the others. And for looking relatively simple to build the front/rear sections in how they're assembled/attached are anything but. Overall aesthetics/shaping really good, and big appreciation for the rounded off roof which looks much better that the squared off tile from previous releases. Definitely very similar to the Challenger from last year but still different enough. Can't wait for this one, and the DB5 to release.
i do love me a classic charger. After they released the 8 wide Challenger i always thought they should remake the previous Charger model in the newer larger style they have been making these sets in lately, and i'm so glad they did! Even better that its the one from Fast and Furious!
I wish they had included a swap-able hood piece as seen in the earlier rendition of the car, but I am determined to upload my own alternative build for those who don’t care for the exposed blower hood featured in the movie.

This is a great set, but also opens up so many awesome possible ideas for future speed champions waves. I think two they need to do is the Ecto 1 and the DeLorean, but personally my biggest want is The Blues Brother's Bluesmobile. But here's too hopefully years of movie cars!
Built Dom's 70 Charger last night and looked GREAT as is as expected. It was easy to take out the flat smooth black square block on the driver side at the back, swap it for a flat black one stud and add a silver flat round brick as a proper gas cap (like the ones on the 6 stud Chargers). I replaced the rear side cab sloped bricks with the ones from the 6 stud charger that actually had "Charger" badge stickers. On the back panel I took out the flat black square brick and replaced it with one of the "R/T" badge bricks from the 6 stud era. Minor changes that really improved the look of the model. I currently have a one stud slope brick on the driver side for the peep mirror. For now that seems to be best despite the square shape. I don't know why there was SO many translucent amber bricks used in the interior of the build. Seems like a waste of a perfectly good signal or clearance lamp. Oh well. Pretty happy overall! ^_^
im hoping for the Lamborghini Countach from Cannon Ball Run. It would be amazing to have a basic white one while theres also the modified movie version, obviously in black. Even the colors of the 2 would match as a great contrast to eachother
I would love it if they made Mr. Miyagi's 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible. I'd even be willing to pay the extra $5 to $10 for both a Daniel and Miyagi figure. This whole movie car thing they introduced was the best way they could've done to bring in new fans, and satisfy old fans alike.
this set is so cool, hopefully with movie cars they can do a yellow camaro with black stripes, I dont need a bumbelebee that transforms but it would be awesome to get his car mode in a speed champions set
The one car I hope they make, but I seriously doubt it because it’s very controversial is the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard. As a kid that was my favorite car, but I didn’t realize until I got older what that flag on the top of the car represents.
Not a huge fan of Dodge muscle cars but i can do with this one....! It's well designed and have very nice details for the scale. Thank for the great review!
Just got mine today, as good as the build itself is, that back trunk part... The way that thing is connected is just abysmal, it completely messes the back end for me since it sticks up so high AND grabs the back lights up with it, making the back end all sorts of wacky looking...
The car was cool and all, but I hate the roof. And if you ask "But he showed you how to build a better one" which is a logical question, but I can't, because this is only my second leg set, and I can't find the pieces for the roof build. Certainly inconvenient for new builders like me. But aside from the roof and having to put his arm in an awkward position to for the mini fig in the car, I have no complaints. It's a great car!
Next we need a 1989 Batmobile, a back to the future Delorean time machine, a KITT from Knightrider, an A-Team van, a set of classic Mini Coopers from the og Italian Job (because the Speed Champions Mini is still one of the best ever Speed Champions models but an ever-so-slightly larger update would be cool), the Vantage from The Living Daylights, the Wagon Queen Family Truckster, Mad Max’s Interceptor, and a Mutt Cutts van from Dumb and Dumber. Maybe also the 66 Imperial from The Green Hornet, because even if that movie sucked, it was a cool car.
I actually never stopped to think of a logical reason why lego might include like clear pieces on the inside of a build for example when you aren’t going to see it, it makes sense now that I think about it, they did that for the ferrari with the printed logo piece, instead of just including the two you will see, make them all printed, so you don’t get to the point where you need to make the ferrari logo visible on the sides only to realize you buried it 30 steps ago and you only have a basic red 1x1
They should of gave the James Bond minifigure a gun with those pistol pieces, or maybe those lego wine glass pieces. But nonethelss these sets are really cool! at first I thought these were fan made mocs and I was astonished to see that LEGO made these, awesome :D
I'd rather the wheel covers to be a flat circular plate with the design. It doesn't need to be domed, and certainly doesn't need the stud in the middle. I'll still buy it and maybe customise the wheels by updating them to the larger style.
I think DeLorean time machine is almost certainly the next Speed champion movie car in 2023. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wet Nelly, Herbie, KITT, Bumblebee (in car mode) and Brian's Supra or Skyline at some point. What would be really cool is the Daytona replica from Miami Vice seasons 1 and 2, but I bet Ferrari is still so sour about it that they would ask the Lego to make the white Testarossa instead.
I don't care much for the Fast & Furious franchise. I'll make mine a Bullitt Charger, to proudly display next to my green Speed Champion Mustang form a few years ago.

6:29 Noticed the air intake manifold is the exact same size on both. It looks ridiculous like a Hot Wheels exaggerated motor on the smaller one. I'll have to fix that. It's going to drive me nuts putting them both side by side like that!
That was the second video that i've seen of you.The first one, was the DB5. Some Detail views or modifying the top are to fast for me to recognize. I 'd wish you gave them more time to rotate it more and show more perspectives.

These videos are already pretty long as I would like to show many details but don't want people to turn it off halfway, so I need to find the balance between long shots and keeping the pace of the video. If you want to observe things in details there's always the option to pause the video.
I really want a luxury car like a Rolls Royce in this theme. This theme is so focused on cars with speed and power which totally makes sense, but Rolls Royces also have good performance so I don't see a reason why not besides licensing.
Not me coming back to fix one of the two things I new I would have to fix I like recreating scenes for rolling over and stuff don’t want that coming off 😅 now we need a Supra and is it supposed to be slanted

It needs to have the wheels and tires from the 2020 set to be more accurate to the movie, as the first time we saw the car it didn't have low pros on it .
I wasn't going to get into the larger (and more expensive $20USD) line of Speed Champs UNTIL I saw Dom's Charger redone then I was like "Sh!!!!t, here we go again!" Every time I think I'm done with Lego THEY PULL ME BACK IN! LOL

They have limited resources, cannot design new pieces for each and every set. The Charger got more printed parts to have a proper design at the rear.

i really want series "slow champions" with for exaple VW beetle in minifig scale
The car was cool and all, but I hate the roof. And if you ask "But he showed you how to build a better one" which is a logical question, but I can't, because this is only my second leg set, and I can't find the pieces for the roof build. Certainly inconvenient for new builders like me. But aside from the roof and having to put his arm in an awkward position to for the mini fig in the car, I have no complaints. It's a great car!
Lego speed champions mad max would be sick. I want the pursuit special.

Next we need a 1989 Batmobile, a back to the future Delorean time machine, a KITT from Knightrider, an A-Team van, a set of classic Mini Coopers from the og Italian Job (because the Speed Champions Mini is still one of the best ever Speed Champions models but an ever-so-slightly larger update would be cool), the Vantage from The Living Daylights, the Wagon Queen Family Truckster, Mad Max’s Interceptor, and a Mutt Cutts van from Dumb and Dumber. Maybe also the 66 Imperial from The Green Hornet, because even if that movie sucked, it was a cool car.

I actually never stopped to think of a logical reason why lego might include like clear pieces on the inside of a build for example when you aren’t going to see it, it makes sense now that I think about it, they did that for the ferrari with the printed logo piece, instead of just including the two you will see, make them all printed, so you don’t get to the point where you need to make the ferrari logo visible on the sides only to realize you buried it 30 steps ago and you only have a basic red 1x1
The Aston Martin really should have used transparent stickers for the various details. The grey color just doesn’t match at all
They should of gave the James Bond minifigure a gun with those pistol pieces, or maybe those lego wine glass pieces. But nonethelss these sets are really cool! at first I thought these were fan made mocs and I was astonished to see that LEGO made these, awesome :D
I'd rather the wheel covers to be a flat circular plate with the design. It doesn't need to be domed, and certainly doesn't need the stud in the middle. I'll still buy it and maybe customise the wheels by updating them to the larger style.
I think DeLorean time machine is almost certainly the next Speed champion movie car in 2023. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wet Nelly, Herbie, KITT, Bumblebee (in car mode) and Brian's Supra or Skyline at some point. What would be really cool is the Daytona replica from Miami Vice seasons 1 and 2, but I bet Ferrari is still so sour about it that they would ask the Lego to make the white Testarossa instead.
I don't care much for the Fast & Furious franchise. I'll make mine a Bullitt Charger, to proudly display next to my green Speed Champion Mustang form a few years ago.
my powered up app does’not working in my apple ipad i have downloaded and it’s was working but now more then a week it’s not working wen i enter it it show the animation then keep downloading for ever can someone help me please before i buy the off road buggy

I somehow like this more than the other car model. But that other one had more unique parts and shapes. So really hard to tell which is better.
The gear shifts in the movie aren't technically fake, it's just a ratchet shifter. Lets you determine shift point.
6:29 Noticed the air intake manifold is the exact same size on both. It looks ridiculous like a Hot Wheels exaggerated motor on the smaller one. I'll have to fix that. It's going to drive me nuts putting them both side by side like that!

Some Detail views or modifying the top are to fast for me to recognize. I 'd wish you gave them more time to rotate it more and show more perspectives.
Thanks for the feedback. These videos are already pretty long as I would like to show many details but don't want people to turn it off halfway, so I need to find the balance between long shots and keeping the pace of the video. If you want to observe things in details there's always the option to pause the video.

I really want a luxury car like a Rolls Royce in this theme. This theme is so focused on cars with speed and power which totally makes sense, but Rolls Royces also have good performance so I don't see a reason why not besides licensing.

I don't drink coffee, but after you advise I won't even consider trying it :D I was late with the video, wanted to record and edit it quickly to be able to publish in time so maybe that was noticeable. Will try to focus on it next time, thanks for the feedback!
It needs to have the wheels and tires from the 2020 set to be more accurate to the movie, as the first time we saw the car it didn't have low pros on it .

I wasn't going to get into the larger (and more expensive $20USD) line of Speed Champs UNTIL I saw Dom's Charger redone then I was like "Sh!!!!t, here we go again!" Every time I think I'm done with Lego THEY PULL ME BACK IN! LOL
