I think the white Lotus from The Spy Who Loved Me would be a better fit for a Lego version due to it’s sharp lines and angles. Fingers crossed we get one of those too. Imagine a Creator Expert version that can convert to submarine mode as well. 🤞🏻

It would be a good second set but as THE James Bond car, they were right to go with the Aston Martin first

I reckon they'll do it, but they probably didn't want to release it too soon after the white Lamborghini Countach incase people thought they looked too similar

With the way the wheels work on the Creator Expert Back To The Future DeLorean, a CE version of Wet Nelly would be awesome.

Simply amazing design... there is so much potential with LEGO's 8-wide vehicles so it is great to seem them branch out even further... my dream set would be an 8-wide VW bus 😊

You can see that the stickers aren’t matching the color of the lego bricks unfortunately, seems to be the case in a lot of sets nowadays. Other than that, I think this is a great tiny set, seems like this is closer to a die cast model than a lego model! Truly remarkable! Love seeing your reviews, keep up the incredible work.

  • @mattterrell4304

As much as I love the Creator Expert version for the build/gadget functions, this smaller variation is all around closer to the mark. Only real noticeable discrepancy as mentioned are the fender flares nowhere present on the actual car. Other than that for as simple as it looks, still features some mind blowing techniques/unusual parts usage throughout the build. Definitely excited to add this one and the Charger RT to the 8 wide collection. Side note/ Kitt would also be an awesome choice for this new line.

One little detail I like about this set is that it comes with a little piece that looks like a handgun as an extra piece so you can give Bond a ranged weapon. I don't know if they planned that or if it was just a happy coincidence.

After what Christopher Stamp said in his presentation I now made up my mind that among the next movie icons there has to be the Lotus Esprit. Not sure if a Wet Nellie conversion is really neccessary, but the basic shape of the Giugiaro Esprit is so iconic and lends itsself to brick building that the choice should be obvious.

That hood scoop design is super unique. The only other set I can think of that uses a similar technique is The Mandalorian Brickhead figure. The front parts of his helmet aren't connected by studs but are instead slid into place and then held on by other bricks built over them. Not exactly the same but pretty similar

For the “loose assembly” of the hood scoop, there is a similar technique used to shape the wheel wells of the flying ford anglia in the “75968 Number 4 privet drive” set. It’s not quite as complicated but it uses the same general idea.

The design is great as it is for Speed Champions in general, and I could live with the color of the stickers being off by just not applying them. But the color of the print on the canopy is so far off the color of the rest of the car it looks like a convertible to me. Which in the end makes this set a "thank you, but no" for me.

    • @uzul42
      @uzul42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, I won't buy the set either solely for this reason. I had thought about replacing the tiles on the roof with parts in the old light grey color which matches the canopy print much better, but sadly the 1x1 round quarter piece were never done in that color.

  • @Aquatikelfik

I don't really like the large-scale vehicules like the Ecto-1, the DeLorean or the James Bond's Aston Martin. They are just display pieces without life has they don't have matching scaled figs.
But I love the minifig scale vehicules, such as the ones i mention above or the Classic Batmobile, it's so much fun to see these vehicules and characters interact with each others, like in Lego Dimension.
So, James Bond in this scale ? Speed Champions theme possibly taking care of others famous vehicules ? I take it !
    Some building technic are mindblowing.
One downside is the stickers, this bluish grey color is really ugly. If I put the stickers, I think I will cut out just the small needed detail and leave out the large gray areas.
Thanks for the review, and the very interesting interview you did with the designer !

This is by far the most exciting channel on Lego automotive sets. Fairly so.
All the best with your channel! You are great!
NOW. @LEGO, please consider more «ultra detailed expert level sets” of the speed champion scale.
Most of your customers, even the richest of them don’t have mansions. Storing and exhibiting 10 creator expert cars is a real challenge. Storing am exhibiting 10-100 speedchampions scale sets, maybe very detailed, is much more easier fit. Many of us have wives and kids, with which we share space. Creator export items are just tooo big if you are really committed to a full scale collection. And it’s not even a question of money, LEgo is expensive by default, we’ve accepted that, let’s move on. @LEGO, don’t take too much space please. Speedchampions scale is perfect for combining detail with size. Let’s push this one way further in terms of product lineup

An interesting fact that I came up with myself is that only a small number of kits use metallic silver parts, and most often they use light bluish garay parts, but here they were used because the car itself was made in light bluish gray and LEGO were forced to make parts in in metallic silver to make them stand out from the gray of the car.

With the black bricks and plates that are already harder to see on camera, the constant shifting and moving of the object did not help unfortunately. You can show the object by holding it steady and turn 360 degree slowly instead of turning them back and forth swiftly to show the details. Just some advice.

Great looking little car, but i cant understand why they cant make transparent stickers like on the dodge charger? Sure that would solve some of the color matching.
