He have a very good review this time. Most sports cars have a lot of power, but you can't use it all at legal speeds, so you're kind of driving a car that has one arm tied behind its back. The base boxster has just enough power than you can push it's limits within legal limits, and enjoy the car at it's best. A very focused package. Still, how can you check your oil when the engine's buried in the middle?
I'm watching this video in 2023. I have a 2016 base Boxster with a PDK transmission (my previous Boxster was 5 speed manual) Bought this in 2018 with 9K miles on it. Due to covid, only has 23,000 miles. love this car. sometimes wish I had manual transmission, but still great car. Planning on a move to Spain in next 6 months, but not sure if I should get rid of it. Really won't need a car, but is it worth the price to ship? Las grimas!
I couldn’t help but notice that he said the Boxster and Cayman were the only mid engine cars in Porsche’s lineup but at the time this video was made the 918 Spyder was in production too. It may have been a near million dollar supercar but it was still part of their lineup at the time which made three models from Porsche that were mid engine and not just the Boxster and Cayman.
This review says a world to me. In the old days reviews were focused on how the car drove but these days the non important crap like navigation etc. is the main focus....
3:58 Other cars have too much power on tap? It might be just me, but I kind of like knowing that I can push my car a little further and faster with extra power.
That is one nice car. I could do w/o all the voice control and touch pad stuff, would just love to own one and enjoy myself. Swear I'll get one someday but it probably won't happen so easily
+Aaron Baker I don't think they're comparable. I plan to get a Boxster because I love Porsche styling and want a high quality interior. The Corvette is MUCH faster but after driving a high-powered Mustang for the past 4 years, I've learned that 0-60 times only matter when arguing on the internet.
I had a 2001 C5 at the same time I had a 1986 944. Vette was obviously faster-in a straight line. My 944 hugged every curve like a baby monkey grips it’s mother. Not one, not one rattle at 16 years old. My vette rattled and shook at 2. Other than dash-which admittedly was inexcusable, fit and finish was far superior in the 944. No question I loved the HUD. But two Vettes and 6 Porsches, no doubt about which I loved and which I tolerated.
2013 Boxster is far superior to a 993 in handling and the S model will leave a na993 in its dust. You will have to fire up the 993TT to put the Boxster S in its place at the dragstrip but the Boxster will eat a stock suspended 993TT alive on a short, tight track. Any Porsche is a great car.
Snobs will see the Boxster as a low budget entry level wannabee sportscar. Two seater ragtop owners will see the Boxster as dream driving fun come true.
You obviously dont know anything about cars by making this statement! Brian isnt a car reviewer, he is a car tech reviewer hence the name. The best car reviewer is Chris Harris.
"best bargain in the porsche world." Hardly. I may be being a stickler, but you cant say that. 993 is fantastic bang for buck, widely regarded as one of the best porsche platforms, and most of them have performance on par with or better than the 13' Coxter.
Now look at that. Talks big but can`t afford his own Porsche and has to ask his Papa about cars... What a child -_- Once you get your licence go and drive a Boxster. It`s a great car and very well made. Judging something by it`s price is stupid. Before you start complaining, yes I own a Porsche myself, bought with my own money.
Why am I going on youtube because I happen to like going on youtube. I also like to comment on videos. I also made this comment because its true. Nobody who can buy a 911 buys a boxer it's just a fact. Also why are you so offended by this statement.

I’ll buy it

1:56, the dude behind the wheel apexes his turn into oncoming traffic on what appears not to be a closed course. Awesome.
for no reason too. Goin' 30
1:42 why did this guy find it ok to smash the car on the road like that ...
Not theirs. Drive it like you stole it ☠️
1:43 Ouch!
The boxster has had the hidden away, pop-out cup holder since 05.
I have slide out cup holders on my 01 Boxster
I love the blue interior and top. I would spec my boxster exactly like that if I bought one.
I have exactly this colour combo on my Boxster S. Looks even better in real life!
No USB in my base 2015 Boxster. Must have the PCM system on this one?
The format is focused on the in-cabin technology, hence Car Tech.
cooley is one of the best reviwers out there. keep making great reviews cnet/cartech!
3:58 Other cars have too much power on tap? It might be just me, but I kind of like knowing that I can push my car a little further and faster with extra power.
Brian is the #1 Car reviewer in the world !
How many times hav I thought about trying a boxster ???🤔🤔👍 Good looking car!👍👍👍
That is one nice car. I could do w/o all the voice control and touch pad stuff, would just love to own one and enjoy myself. Swear I'll get one someday but it probably won't happen so easily
THANK YOU CNET FOR MAKING IT AVAILABLE AGAIN!!
I just bought one, its GREAT
I sure miss the 981 Cayman and boxster N/A Engine
Does it have to have a convertible? Or coupe
The boxster is the convertible, the Cayman is the coupe version of this
RandomVideos how much r caymans tho
this or the corvette c7 convertible? theyre roughly equivalent in price
+Aaron Baker If you don't have a huge ego, then you can't beat the Corvette.
I've had a dozen corvettes. Not even close to a Porsche in terms of fit and finish or quality. Never another Vette.

I have the old one from 2006.I love it.
Me too.Love mine
An 08 since 13.
Respect !
No, it's not. It looks waaaay better then ugly 911 convertible, and it's mid-engined so it has better handling
the manual only stop starts in neutral
Is this boxter or boxter s?
It's a Boxster and not a Boxster S
can porsche make a boxster 4s
6:15. Thats Not Brian Cooley!!!
5:27 , looks like the wheels aren't moving ._.

Because a poor man can afford a 60,000 car.
no back up camera 🤦🏾♂
Snobs will see the Boxster as a low budget entry level wannabee sportscar.
Two seater ragtop owners will see the Boxster as dream driving fun come true.
boxster is like a mini version of Ferrari in Red colour but then off-course its all about the speed.
3:50 You know he's a car guy when he stares down every car that passes! lol
With this guy's mustache, ANY car is manly.
This car has import taxes over here that doubles its price .... This costs the same as a BMW 320i over here if we use its normal price ($55k)
where do you live lad?
Egypt.
He would choose the infotainment system over the sport chrono package. That says a lot doesnt it!
in the Ph, having a bmw or a mbenz is a rich person, but having this kind of car is like your the king of the road. hehe.
Why is this the only video that i can watch in belgium
Came for the Porsche stayed for the cup holders...
honda should do a exotic car so they are motivated to make sporty cars
They need to get gymkhana reviewing the cars
Me too...freakin' amazing!
Cuanto cuesta me quiero comprar uno ya tengo 70.000$ reunidos
Hello
You obviously dont know anything about cars by making this statement! Brian isnt a car reviewer, he is a car tech reviewer hence the name. The best car reviewer is Chris Harris.
1:43 LOL!
Beautiful :)

Can't think for yourself...just gotta repeat what daddy tells ya, huh?
2022 here
Porsche needs to be a bit more daring with straying from the core design I think!
Now look at that. Talks big but can`t afford his own Porsche and has to ask his Papa about cars... What a child -_- Once you get your licence go and drive a Boxster. Great review! This car kinda bored me though lol
in my opinion its gotta be jeremy clarkson, not saying brian isnt awesome, but jeremy just has so much witt
Reading ? Are we talking about lip reading ? :)
11/23/2019
Dear CNET, read my lips, START EVERY VIDEO BY STATING THE DATE. Example: Today is 11/23/2019. Do not forget to include the year.
3.22 panamera gearbox
Strawberry fields forever
yea they not that great looking, but it looks better and is faster!
From cnet
buy a base porsche macan s and no options. best porsche for 50 grand
....And also the least equipped?
I own a macan and its not nearly as fun as my boxster. It feels like a cayennes little brother. That's it.
+George C Macan is heavy as hell. GLA has better handling, which is a damn shame. Since when was a Mercedes better sorted than a Porsche?
who the f wants a cayman?? for sure u can't afford a 911...the cayman has no backseats, no sunroof and the engine is hidden somewhere u can't see.
Buy the S.
Do you have the S?
No, not really.
Basic reading comprehension isn't your forte, then?
i dont understand why you would want a boxter unless you like convertibles! the cayman is only a couple g's more!
enough with that music already
sadly I do it too ;)
That interior color is hideous.
All Porsche cars are almost similar it seems!! Pretty boring!!
aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh :)
The interior design looks nothing like the Carrera GT. Fuck, I wish people would stop posting ignorant shit on TH-cam.
yes but the cayman also looks like shit
buy a used boxster for >10k
+Powderhorn916 Have fun fixing whatever will be wrong with it.
Nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche.
lol my dad is getting the new 911 c4s
I had a 911. Sold it😃....
Bought a boxster.... handles much better
its a poor mans 911
worst car review ever
or rather mazda...
Idiotenwerbung ;-)
You buy a boxter because you can't afford a 911
That's the dumbest statement. You obviously have no clue. :P
***** Its the truth nobody with the money to buy a 911 winds up buying a boxster. It's the truth deal with it.
Yawn, you bore me, next.
Satoru Iwata actually I have a 911 so yeah.
Why am I going on youtube because I happen to like going on youtube. I also like to comment on videos. I also made this comment because its true. Nobody who can buy a 911 buys a boxer it's just a fact. Also why are you so offended by this statement.
