Boxster is such an incredible format. Timeless and just a joy to be in. I’ve been tracking, clubbing and touring in my 718bs for over 4 years. Just haven’t found a reason to own anything else. Awesome.
Mitsos Da Best this is why i buy old cars. Most of these extras aftermarket would cost you a lot less. I can get a great entertainment and sat nav system for a 1985 car, that would cost less than $250 to buy and install.
Mitsos Da Best I would insist that the dealer paid for that deflector otherwise I'd go to another dealer and I wouldn't rest until I find one that threw it in as part of the sale. I would refuse point blank to pay for it 😂
Great review Mat. Agree there is a lot of gouging going on. I'll wait three years and get one for 60% of its original value as I did with my current 09 BS. Great review as always. Cheers from the great white north.
GeorgeCan Quickscope if service history and good nick then yes but beware will cost on rear tyres and service not cheap plus likes a drink if you drive the way it should be driven but apart from that great cars
i'd have a white standard boxster , with the blue interior, white dials, silver seat belts, aliminum interior package, the sport chrono package, the PCM, locking diff, and aluminum roll bars. manual ofc
Mabual clutches and gearbox are completely different. DSG ( vw ) S-tronic ( Audi ) and PDK have the same root but different specifications ( mostly related to the torque they can handle without burning )
I would get the Boxster Spyder. Has 10 more horsepower, 90 kg lighter, much better looking, and no stupid electronics to get in the way of the ultimate roadster experience.
For those that have never had a Boxster, be aware that over 40 mph, the noise from the rear engine is so loud, you can’t think, much less talk to the person next to you. If you’re only interested in racing then you may not care.
That`s true yes, but that`s quite normal for sportscars with a long history like Porsche. In the old days they made them like this to make them controllable. Old Ferraris have the hardest clutches though. Try a something like a 355 and the one in the Boxster will feel like cotton wool. By the way Audi uses a completely different transmission than Porsche.
I love Porsche... but I think the front air vents are too big. I love the front air vents of the 986... Actually, I know that a lot of people are not quite fond of the original 986, but I think it has simplicity, character and purity. The new cars these days are just all about being aggressive and aggressive. And the designers are just losing it with putting too much lines, unnecessary bigger vents etc. I am not rich and cannot afford any of these cars, but if I could I definitely get an older car... any car... the old cars have class, and are unsullied and nifty. As an example... look at the older Lamborghinis.. quite pleasing to look at. Have you seen the newer ones... especially Veneno... UGLY.... Just UGLY... Hope this is not the future of automotive industry.
I agree the options are stupid. Porsche's attitude is, "well if you can afford a fancy german sports car then you can afford the options." Its all about money at then end of the day.
Let's do the numbers. If my monthly income is $3000 and all my expenses are $1500 and I have a leftover of $1500 per month. Is it a good idea to buy a used Porsche for $40,000? Let's say the monthly loan payment would be $500. Advice from owners??
Audi and Porsche are the two companies that charge you a lot of money for options, even the ones you expect are standard from a premium brand.(All German luxury brands are like this, but Audi and Porsche's are just ridiculous) >.>
in Canada a Cayenne S starts at about 73,000 ...... you think its a decent price for a Porsche until you get in and see it is BARE... you want options? sure no problem fully loaded adds about 50,000 to the price tag..... so 73k+50K for options LOL.... I'll stick with my Mercedes

I just realised that i need this in my life.
Did you get one? I have reached the same conclusion, albeit 11 years after your comment
He should have been on top gear not Chris Evans
Looks great, like the old 911. Now the boxster doesn't look cheap anymore
So confusing to see matt here
Porsche are extremely good cars, but the Extras cost so much money that you can buy some more expensive cars than Porsche... -_-
No! If I had money I would still buy a porsche
Mitsos Da Best this is why i buy old cars. Most of these extras aftermarket would cost you a lot less. I can get a great entertainment and sat nav system for a 1985 car, that would cost less than $250 to buy and install.

Oh my god he was so young here❤️
Very fun to drive. Great Porsche driving experience without the premium price tag.
Mat you're the best car reviewer!!!
Too much red, more black or grey accents would be better.
Best colors for Porsche is black, grey, and polar white. :D
...and dark blue
you are the best reviewer! the only carbuyer reviews i watch are yours.
Great review Mat. Agree there is a lot of gouging going on. I'll wait three years and get one for 60% of its original value as I did with my current 09 BS. Great review as always. Cheers from the great white north.
Please review the 3 cylinders Clio 4
Please do a review of the new most powerful Mini with 228bhp! Thank you!
Did they ever sort out the intermediate shaft failure issue or are the engines still dropping like flies?
I really like this guy's review
The best thing about the new Boxster:
A fully automatic roof and no annoying windscreen catch.
I have a 2013 boxster s manual with sport chrono package and it does NOT have rev Mach on downshifts. I believe only the new cayman has it for now
Such a great design, I love the red top too, the storage is really smart thanks for showing it great review as usual!
I reckon matt is the besttttt car reviewer!!! Hes an ideal new presenter for top gear!!
The engine is in the middle, right in between the seats and the boot/rear wheels.
Is a 2004-2005 Porsche Boxster a decent car for a first car for around £5,000-£6,000?
GeorgeCan Quickscope if service history and good nick then yes but beware will cost on rear tyres and service not cheap plus likes a drink if you drive the way it should be driven but apart from that great cars
Are they really good cars even if I buy a used one like a 2010
could you boost up the volume a bit? it's hard sometimes to hear
i'd have a white standard boxster , with the blue interior, white dials, silver seat belts, aliminum interior package, the sport chrono package, the PCM, locking diff, and aluminum roll bars. manual ofc
i love the red interior :) matter of taste :)
When do you visit Halton region
I think it uses a couple grams of palladium. All that's missing is a nice glowing blue light.
is that true that it comes with auto rev match with sports chrono package if you decide to go with a manual option>?
This reviewer is the business.. good work mate!
Mabual clutches and gearbox are completely different. DSG ( vw ) S-tronic ( Audi ) and PDK have the same root but different specifications ( mostly related to the torque they can handle without burning )
notice how he doesn't even compare it to any other car, purely top of the class. great review, even better car
Because the Jaguar F Type is too good to compare the Porsche to
is this the new 911?
The steering feel isn't nearly as communicative as the 987 this 981 replaces.
What colour it's that Silver or Grey?
Nice interiors. Is that the Stevie Wonder Limited series?
I am searching for ur reviews for all this car
I hope Porsche is watching this. At last, one car reviewer who says it like it is when it comes to overpriced options. Good work.
3:52 something is horribly wrong with your mouth Matt. Get it checked out ASAP.
Please review the Cayman S!
Matt says: The red-leather interior looks like you sitting inside someone's mouth! :D :D
Matt from Carwow!
the red leather looks so nice !
great as usual :D love watching your review man :D
I want to see the new 718 boxster (when it comes out) on this Chanel👍
I would get the Boxster Spyder. Has 10 more horsepower, 90 kg lighter, much better looking, and no stupid electronics to get in the way of the ultimate roadster experience.
is this guy henderson from liverpool?
The Terracota is a very nice colour!
"Sitting inside a mouth" LOL yes, i also dont like the colour :D
He didn't mention the Ford Focus or the Mondeo..:P
Why is this video in fast forward?
You are good Matt you really are.
Mat.... you actually look really good behind the wheel of that car.
For those that have never had a Boxster, be aware that over 40 mph, the noise from the rear engine is so loud, you can’t think, much less talk to the person next to you. If you’re only interested in racing then you may not care.
I’ve found it quieter in a Boxster than a Cayman and I’ve owned both for a number of years.
Did someone bleed to death in the interior to create that color?
Where is the engine?
The Telsa Model s can do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Please review that car :D
A Porsche Boxster S is 4 seconds faster around Nurburgring circuit than an Aston Martin DBS....
This car is beautiful even though it is not the fastest sports car. Beauty at its best
Eyooo is that matt watson???
4:26 - bringing out your true accent there Mat
That`s true yes, but that`s quite normal for sportscars with a long history like Porsche. In the old days they made them like this to make them controllable. Old Ferraris have the hardest clutches though. Try a something like a 355 and the one in the Boxster will feel like cotton wool.

Underneath where the roof folds
best new porsche you could buy
love it
Roof down, definitely more edgy and the best way to enjoy driving a sports car.
Good as a second car? For when I’m 19/20? The 2002 version that’s under £3000
"feels like you're sitting inside... a mouth" is probably the best car complaint I've ever heard
great review !
I like the red interior on silver
Must be fun to do a timing belt/chain in this
Red leather is what’s cool about this silver Boxster.
… YES! but they installed the steering wheel on the WRONG side !!! ;o)
that's England buddy
you can't be serious hahahahhaha
FrenzyRaptus Or Australia :)
FrenzyRaptus In India we've right hand drives too.
Top Gear is entertainment show, not a serious car review show
white paintwork with that red interior...now your talking
Nice one mat! Don't like the colour of inside either! Great driving car for the money!
Porsche are clever! Nice win for Hammy in USA by the way !
If the handling is very good..wait until the Cayman comes along...
I agree the options are stupid. Porsche's attitude is, "well if you can afford a fancy german sports car then you can afford the options." Its all about money at then end of the day.
£200 for a plastic wind deflector! As Car Throttle demonstrated, you could buy an entire car for that!
I will buy this car next week
Guys, this is Mat's personal channel: MatWatsonCars
Thumbs up so all people can see it.
The latest model turbo 4-cyl models in the Boxster and Cayman are a disaster.
he needs to keep the wind out of the cabin since he's still recording sound.
Why?
3:05 Where's the engine??
No, it's mid engined and has two seats, the 911 is rear engined and has 4 seats.
An expensive plastic thingy? i would raher
I like the red - But maybe not a full solid red.
It is not a primary family car that is for sure. SO red in a second car that is a sports car like this I could live with.
Let's do the numbers. If my monthly income is $3000 and all my expenses are $1500 and I have a leftover of $1500 per month. Is it a good idea to buy a used Porsche for $40,000? Let's say the monthly loan payment would be $500. Advice from owners??
agreed. 911 is the only Porsche I like.
if you have to have only ONE car, its got to b the 981 Boxster!!
Audi and Porsche are the two companies that charge you a lot of money for options, even the ones you expect are standard from a premium brand.(All German luxury brands are like this, but Audi and Porsche's are just ridiculous) >.>
bmw x6 and audi q7 please
Yeah I would go for a black or biege.
in Canada a Cayenne S starts at about 73,000 ...... you think its a decent price for a Porsche until you get in and see it is BARE... you want options? sure no problem fully loaded adds about 50,000 to the price tag..... so 73k+50K for options LOL.... I'll stick with my Mercedes
I would take this car in line gold interior
Did you just compare a Porsche to the inside of a mouth? Blasphemy!
I think that only Nissan 370Z and Corvette Stingray have auto rev match
seems like the best car in its class, but it can be very pricey compared to a one year old 911
