You know what will be a great R-rated super villain movie, Carnage
And they would still make it PG-13.
Yes, because carnage is a serial killer
@The Derp Chaos Knowing Sony wants to reach a wider audience like with this film... Yeah...not gonna happen.
Anyways, I heard Upgrade a better version of this film.
For sure should be a horror movie about him hunting people maybe in a prison he was being kept in or something
Carnage would be past rated R it will never happen
I thought it was enjoyable, but you're right. It was lacking A LOT of plot and jumped around like crazy. 10/10
Movie was hot dog shit

Honestly though? Me.
@msr803 possibly Bi?
Venom is in a relationship with eddie brock in the comics -.- so be it homo or nuh it love that man
Draconiya ... Is tht a newer thing?
Sony: This movie will be R
Audience: AWESOME!!
Sony: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaannnnndd it's PG-13.
Honestly it probably wouldve been a edgy piece of shit in the hands of sony
F O C U S G R O U P S
Was marvel who stepped in and wanted it pg-13.
No, Sony made it PG-13 because they want an opportunity for Venom to team up with MCU Spidey
It's hilarious to me because whenever someone asked Kevin Feige if Venom is in the MCU, he repeatedly said no... oof
I did laugh at how bloodless all the violence was.
The Carnage movie is also gonna be Rated G
They'll still find a way to Fuck that up
Based on the friendly carnage comics
Bambi is more graphic than that shit
@Anon 1 Bambi at this rate will end up being more graphic than marvel movies. You know that deer who mom got killed?
@Anon 1 BAWAHAHA no man I seen horror movies in order for it to be illegal they would have to kill real animals and have hardcore gay sex for that rating
I really enjoyed this movie, don’t think the reviews do it justice.
Perfect? Absolutely not. Eddy and Venom’s relationship is legit hilarious and fun to watch.
Pacing is off in the beginning and the plot is shallow like any Marvel origin film but the movie is overall a ton of fun after Eddy and Venom meet.
I highly recommend it but don’t watch it like a sweaty nerd and enjoy it like a popcorn flick.
@Flavouredsalmon117 Every marvel origin movie except for Raimi's spiderman 1.
It’s a very well made movie made for establishing things so hopefully they do follow through with the other two entries because I think they’d have more to offer with the sequels
Uhhhhhhhhh, Iron Man?
Kizzo TheJester
Iron Man is good, but does have a weak plot.
@Quarter Blazer highly disagree but okay
I think three things would have made it better.
1. Rated R
2. Deciding on either being a deadpool/buddy cop movie or horror movie.
3. Less cutting of footage.
NintendoWolf I have never seen a movie waste as much talent as this
2 Was my biggest issue with the movie. The first 40-60 minutes seemed like a half assed attempt at a horror film
Buddy cop is kinda good
Are y'all serious? I thought it was a perfect mix of comedy, horror, and action. I mean the first half was boring but it was building tension, just like a horror movie, and that's probably why everyone was impressed with Venom, because the movie built tension around him, until he was finally revealed, and damn did he look good.
Mikołaj Majewski Horror part was trash, predictable jumpscares =/= good horror movie
I thought Deadpool and Logan proved that rated R comic book movies COULD succeed
BlackOverBlueSkies Deadpool is pure comedy, and thus shouldn’t be considered a comparable movie to Logan. Logan was amazing, enjoyed every minute of it. Venom isn’t really the brutal one in the symbiote family, he just has a hard-on for spider-man. which this movie portrays. If they do make an R-rated movie based on the symbiote s, they should make it about carnage. she’s the real ass blaster
McSalty Sack my point is R-Rated comic book movies can be profitable
The end goal for Sony is to have Venom become apart of the DISNEY MCU, that can't happen if its rated R
fknalexman deadpool?
@@mcsaltysack5622 pure comedy with peoples heads getting cut off and massive fight scenes? Lmao

I remember I paid to watch this in theaters and I remember regretting it. awful movie for me tbh. But I’m happy that you enjoyed it. For me I just couldn’t get behind the terribly written script and villain is extremely weak.
Nah I agree, I'm not saying it was dogshit though it was definitely bad and lots of pieces were missing. I did find myself entertained when I watched it but this is one of those kind of movie when you only want to see it once and that's it because of how uninteresting they turn the movie not only that I I felt like the movie give me blue balls on how much they cut out the most important parts of the movie though this could be MCU trying to tease us for something much bigger though either way it was definitely a bad cut editing.

The 2 red flags were easy to see, it came out in October and it was PG-13.
Wait why October? I understand the PG-13 rating but what's wrong with October?
@Solar Freak Halloween I guess
the studio knew this movie was not going to be good so they put it in October because there is less competition for the movie to go up against.
@Plain Plane @glusniffer2
I can see why. That makes more more sense.
gluesniffer2 The movie HALLOW FUCKING WEEN is coming out in October, that’s pretty big competition.

Nah Sony is just a parasite with only their permission to offer.

Same. I loved the dynamic between Venom and Eddie. I'm sad that they cut out forty minutes of it, but when you think about it, that's not really that much time. There were definitely moments when it felt a bit off, but as a whole, I really enjoyed the movie and I would 100% watch it again. I truly hope they make a sequel, because I've heard the movie didn't do too well, and it would be upsetting if they chose to discard the characters. I loved the movie and imo they did a pretty bang-up job.

Alright, I’m going to have to disagree with this review, I thought Venom was fantastic. The dynamic between Eddie and Venom was wonderful, the action was great. That first scene with actually seeing the full power of venom had me grinning ear to ear with how great it was. I thought the final fight was fine. I agree with a lot of points that you criticize, I just think the score was to low.
Charlie has every right to not like this movie. I’m just here to say that I loved it and think it’s a great watch.
Flavouredsalmon117 we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Another action scene was when Eddie/Venom was on that news tower, and all the FBI agents/police use smoke. If *spoiler alert* the carnage movie they teased comes out, I hope it’s more to your liking.
DeeDo go read some critic reviews from RT it’s shit, from every standpoint it’s a pretty messy movie
Unknown Burger1 you should never listen to rotten tomatoes, I thought everyone knew that
DeeDo I loved the movie but that final fight scene was really really messy. Maybe it was the theatre I was in but holy fuck it was a dimly lit scene and I honest to fuck had no idea what was going on at all sometimes. It really did feel like it was a giant bottle of cum with two humans inside it being jiggled around until they got a giant rocket penis and fire involved.
Yeah 25% is way too low for a movie this enjoyable... Most of crit's points were too vague, his only specific point was the "plothole" about Venom changing his mind.
It's great, I honestly thought they were going to f**k it up but no. Venom's relationship with Eddie is hilarious. The comedy is intentional. The pacing was great, the film felt really short despite being 2 hours and that's a sign of good pacing. It was a lot of fun. I highly recommend seeing it.
Now into semi-spoiler territory:
- Everything in the film has consequences, and I love that. For example, Eddie looks through Anne's emails to find dirt on Mr. Drake before the interview. When in the interview Eddie brings up the confidential law cases he found out about from doing that, Anne loses her job, and Eddie gets dumped, and his network fires him.
- Carlton Drake meets a very satisfying demise
- It has the best Stan Lee movie cameo since Spider-Man 3.
- Lines like "Turd in the wind" work because they are meant to be silly.
- The first post credit scene is awesome, leave after that, the second post credit scene is just one of the trailers for Into The Spider-Verse.
+Andrew McAllister Well it’s not gonna be fun if we get introduced immediately. Character buildup is important. That would be like if the first Avengers had literally everyone side by side as soon as the movie starts instead of slowly building up the team so they can win the battle
@@andrewmcallister9908 It's a breach of confidentiality, the public didn't know about the lawsuits
@@andrewmcallister9908 It's implied a few days past, maybe that is shown in some of the 40 minutes of unused scenes
@Flavouredsalmon117 Rumours but no proof. And Drake was an ass who valued a parasite more than his test subjects and employees. His demise was satisfying because you think he's gotten away and then Venom cuts down engine with the blade Riot used to stab him, and then gives Drake's words back to him, "Have a nice life".
@Flavouredsalmon117 You did care because you went into the movie thinking it was shit

Did we watch the same movie dude? Venom changed his mind because of riot. He joined back up with Brock because he needed him, he was his perfect match.
Once linked back he learned riot was here and was going to execute his plan but better since riots a stronger symbiot.
Venom changed because Brock was someone he liked personally. Brock being a loser mirrored Venom, the loser of his home world.
Thus he scrapped his previous plan. Killed riot with Brock, and decided to just live inside Brock instead of being some overlord.
Fuck Crit, you miss that one detail (or ignored it) and decide Venom is just homo for Brock.

R.I.P. my need to watch the moist meter anymore.
Yeah you're right. I came off as too harsh near the end. I was just angry at this B.S. review. Editted it appropriately.
To be accurate, Venom isn't really from a homeworld at all. The Klyntar were created by Knull, originally as living weapons. Being forged is what gave the symbiotes their fear/weakness to fire I believe. The "planet" is not actually a planet, it's a bunch of symbiotes surrounding Knull's physical body.
So more accurately he'd be an outcast of his species, not of his homeworld.
Well said.

I thought the whole point of Spider-man not being in it was so that it can be rated R, that way a mature audience would be able to have fun with the character before he’d understandably be toned down for the Holland Spider-man films. But like, what’s even the point now if their just going to make it PG-13 and we know Sony is planning to have him crossover anyway. I think i’ll just wait for that, this movie looks like a snooze fest.
The Holland movie is a marvel movie and this is a sony movie though. I don't think they will crossover
Barry Benson's Side Chick Sony's plans don't mean shit when Marvel has consistently stated how Venom is not in the MCU, despite owning the rights Sony has no power in the relationship with Marvel and Marvel clearly didn't care about a crossover, not to mention after the terrible critical reception the movie is getting they'll be even more inclined to just say "that was a Sony thing, it doesn't affect our movies"
Well for starters, and one of the reasons I dislike tom holland as spiderman is the fact that Peter is still in high school. Throughout the marvel universe, Peter parker meets Eddie through the daily bugle as a reporter. At this time Peter parker is no longer a high school student but in college. And Eddie in this film is much older than a high school student. A crossover? Nah, wont happen at all. If it does, somebody is screwing up big time.

damn, its not even that bad of a Movie. I feel like people are overreacting and calling it bad because it wasn't a gritty and darker take on the character and for the most thing, that's perfectly fine. Giving it a 25% is a bit disappointing. In all honesty, the more appropriate score would be somewhere around 45%-75%
Yep, for me its between a high 40s and low 50s. No more than 60 though because its a very incoherent mess, and it shows.

going to be my first time disagreeing with him here. i saw it today and i loved it. in fact everyone in theater clapped at the end, and they did explain what changed his mind. Venom says hes always in his head so he knows everything about him. Venom also says hes a loser just like him on his planet but on earth he can be the cool one. idk if charlie was even paying attention. also they humanized Venom even though hes a alien hes got his own hopes dreams and wants. great character development
Virtual Victory I wonder what would happen if the people in your theater watched The Dark Knight.
Honestum and G G can you guys please explain what the fuck you mean im genuinely confused.
there not saying virtual victory at the front of there sentences there just referencing how stupid it is to clap at the end of the movie and how a stupid audience could like an actual good film get it now?
Adelin Ravdan I agree. This is the first time I’ve disagreed with Charlie’s rating.
I had no hype didn't see any interviews didn't think it would be anything and I really enjoyed it.
I feel like I enjoyed it more just because in the days leading up to it I kept hearing about how shitty it was and went in with such low expectations
Don't listen to movie critics they seem to attack this movie but alot of people that are not movie critics loved it and i am going to see it monday i got scared from the reviews because i listened to probably paid movie critics trashing it.
@@ajknight8640 i am seeing it monday most non movie critics loved it the movie critics scared me away from it.
AJ Knight same for me
I actually liked this movie. It made me want more 👍
I'm not inclined to disagree with Critikal here, but I enjoyed the movie. Looking back, it did seem like there were weird edits, some missed opportunites and for some reason it shyed away from violence a lot (particularly with Venom himself) but I did like tom hardy, i didnt find his performance to be that bad. Loved the symbiotes mannerisms even if they did drop the more darker aspects that I think the movie should have kept. More comedic than I thougt it would be. But I am also a big Venom fan, so I am biased...

If you are indeed Venom fan then you would hate this movie.
just cause you're a Venom fan doesn't mean you cant be open to more interpretations of the character. if youve ever read a comic youd know that there is many different interpretations of a hero all written by different people stamped with Marvels official logo.
theres at least 12 different Hulks lol.
@@VirtualVictoryTM Yes and this version sucks. What was the point you tried to make?
Am I the only one who really liked this movie?
Debate Me Irl the movie is such a basic bitch but your comment was cringeworthy as fuck, smh.
@@penny1992 Must of accidentally spilled salt on your cereal this morning, I bet.
Giant Dad remember he has a high IQ, we better call salt sodium chloride haha
Debate Me Irl you’re lucky people don’t make cringe comps of youtube comments
no I liked it too
i thought i could trust you but now im in complete disbelief of what you said venom (2018) is the greatest movie ever made
I’m going to the cinema today to see the movie, im so happy you uploaded this video today , keep it up
Dollar Shave Club vs The Beard Club
One thing I noticed that just made me happy: Charlie has so much more emotion in recent years than in earlier videos. I know it's obvious and it's prob been pointed out already but it still makes me smile to think abt
Yah but Peter Parker was supposed to be in it
Not as spider Man, just Peter
Was it there or not?
Henry Clay nope the director confirmed tom holland was never set to be in the movie
To be honest it's better that spiderman isn't in it.
1) Spiderman bad reboots have sort of stained all of the spiderman universe, even the people who liked the most recent one are still thinking "Much better than the last one(s)"
2) Spiderman would've hogged the spotlight even if he was just a cameo, people would go "omg is he gonna show up again later"
All of your answers are good
But only one has dancing down the street in it
Henry Clay nice fucking meme
@@KBzDvSt well
SM 3 is god tier
Watch the DVD release with a "R-RATED VERSION"
Stanley Chen Was the full version of BvS good?
It would have been a better movie if the plot didn't have cuts at the end everyone thought venom died from the fire then all the sudden boom venoms back wtf happened 40 minutes cut the producers should have said hmmm dose this shit make sence
i actually liked this movie D:
You're not alone. I also enjoyed it
Same I feel the plot was choppy but overall it was not bad
Xalahath same dont worry
same haha
It's my guilty pleasure, i know its got a bad script and bad pacing but im ashamed to say i liked it damnit!
This was crap? I thought this was great. I don’t see it
Shadow Darkon *because you’re not moist enough*
I feel like he is right about the original cut with the pg13 rating being a bit much, but you have to also remember that this is set in the same universe as spiderman, and that theyll meet up someday for carnage. Also, while definitely lacking in action in some places, the action we do get is fairly good, and the effects are done almost flawlessly. Venom vs venom is supposed to be a gooey mess. Its to show how similar the characters are, even if theyre separate, as well as to highlight the importabce of the hosts they chose.
@@julianhagen5625 they dont have the rights to spiderman
Julian Hagen it is not it’s in its own universe
@@casper5949 you realize that technically sony owns spiderman too right? Theyre working in association with marvel :/
Man, sucks a lot when everyone dislikes something so much but you love it
"If Venom had grown himself a fierce beard"
I liked the movie, end was rushed but the rest was really good.
I've just watched venom. I call those movies a one timer, they are not particularly bad but you just watch them once and forget they ever existed
that is exactly it
Me and my friends really enjoyed it, I thought it had a lot of hilarious moments and the conversations with Eddie and Venom are great. I do see the problems with the story and pacing but I overall have to say its a solid 7/10
I enjoyed this movie :3
Same
for the love of god for people who disagree. youre just casual watcher. so chill, venom bad because some of us see and judge the "art" and complexity, the choreography etc. not just "is it fun or not". fun doesnt mean good
LOL, irony deficiency is bad for your health dude-mar. Just because you took a couple courses where some professor "told" you what to think when watching a movie doesn't make your opinion "advanced." Critics are just casual viewers as well in case you are confused about that. You just have higher opinions of yourself because you have 3 credits of time under your belt that makes you think you're a more sophisticated audience. You're not more aware of the complexities of a film. You're just a douche who thinks 50 cent words make an opinion a fact. Or did you miss the fact that so called professional reviewers also have different opinions to one another? Simply put, an opinion is an opinion, no matter what measure you use to judge a piece of art.
You don't need to take any courses to notice the film's abysmal writing. Doesn't mean I was bored in the theater, doesn't mean the movie was any good.
let me simplify your comment "its nitpick" your welcome
"art and complexity" This comment has Rick and Morty written all over it.
Uh oh guys we got a special snowflake over here
This was the most unintentionally hilarious Superhero movie I’ve ever seen. It was like if Tommy Wiseau had a sizeable budget and a contract to make a superhero movie.
I personally thought the fighting at the end between riot and Venom was epic, good cgi, but doesn’t help when they are in the dark, in the sky and you can’t tell who tf which one is smh.
U probabpy can, just look at there faces, or there voice, if that doesn't help, just look at there body difference probably?
It was such a bad and dumb fight. Literally couldn't see qha happens it was so dumb
Spoiler: Venom can control Eddy’s actions. When Venom said, “Now Jump” during the window break, why did Venom let Eddy chicken out instead of just jumping?
3 years later, eddy can control him as well
Venom isn't that bad. I have to respectfully disagree with you on movies sometimes like when u gave Annihilation a great score.
Either way, ur still the man and your moist meter is the golden standard!
Annhilation was horrible all these movie critics trashing venom and i see a whole bunch of non movie critic love it i am seeing it monday to judge for myself i made the mistake of watching movie critic reviews and scores and it scared me away.
@@redpillchristopher8790 it's similar to how critics trash videogames. And how critics keep bringing up the "pg-13" rating for Venom like a broken record.
I hope you enjoy the movie!
What if they release a rated R version with the missing part talk about a good idea for revenue
Tbh this is my favorite romcom!! Cant wait for the next one where carnage tries to get in between them
i have to agree that from this analytical/critical view then the movie wasn’t very good, but as just a movie it was fun to watch and enjoyable
I loved the movie and what people dont get is that EVERY CRITIC IS DIFFRENT people say its bad and some people say its good
thatnavarezguy opinions be like that
I'm so grateful for Moist Meter, whenever I decide to drop plans (which is every time), I can just watch this and forget about it anyways!
I actually really liked it.
I just saw. Its not An award-winning non-stop action thriller that'll make your heart stop and your balls tingle will moistyness but it WAS a very FUN enjoyable movie! It was a bit fast paced but if you love the IDEA then I'm sure you'll at the very least be amused...
i got an erection and precum all over my pants the entire movie
Watched it last night with the lowest of expectations. I walked away a little impressed. Yes, it feels like a choppily edited cheese-ball movie from the 80's, but I thought they did Venom's appearance so well, and I decided early on to embrace the overdone comedy aspect instead of rolling my eyes per usual. 6/10.
I dunno, I thought it was better than suicide squad, at least. It's watchable.
Why is Jackson narrating your ads Charlie? Did you outsource all your menial labour to Australia?
Kalleth Bright-Talon That is where the Haitch-Q is at.
Like, your points are super valid, but it's soooo FUN! More entertaining than most superhero content, even though it doesn't really grab you emotionally (or make sense lol)
I enjoyed this movie since I entered the theater expecting it to not be close to the storyline but there's no doubt the movie would be billion better if it was rated R shame since the cgi was amazing loved the effects they had on venom
Adding more drugs and nudity to this movie wouldn't really make it any better. That's really what it takes for movies to get an R rating nowadays. Some scenes like Riot killing all the scientists in the room should have shown more gore and people getting cut in half though.
@@cs0345 yeah like scenes where venom would rip someone's head off it would get cut off and rui. The vibe
The whole time I was watching, all I could think of was “Predator (2018)”
Love the movie and character but this video will never not be funny. This is the funniest video ive ever seen and nothing makes me laugh as hard as this video. I subed after i watched it the first time and good lord do i rewatch this one.
In my opinion, I thought the movie was pretty decent. It may have lacked some action but it was mainly because it was focused more on how Eddie's life sucks at the start. Hopefully they release the R rated version in the future though. Because seriously, they were cutting scenes almost every minute.
Agree with you 100%
