Brother Allen, I have severe OCD, I had some intrusive thoughts and compulsions last week and I panicked and made some promises that were too extreme and some that go against my walk with God, I’ve repented ceaselessly, in Your video about making promises You said in Ecclesiastes 5:6-6 that God will destroy everything I’ve ever done and that has me at my lowest man do I have to fulfill these promises even though I repented? I’m broken and confused.

@@lesliewells1062 Yes. You're correct. The Hebrews/Jewish people rejected Jesus back then. They did'nt believe Jesus could BE the Messiah, even though the proohecies were ALL fufilled and perfectly came to pass. HE IS the Messiah.
They just wouldn't believe it. The Jews who HAVE found the truth, and know Jesus, are SO HAPPY and thrilled, knowing WHO Messiah IS, and what He did, that they tell as many people as they can.
I've offen felt, "What an honor, to come from the people and the bloodline of people that Jesus came from"....and live in Jerusalem/ Israel.
But, God had plans for the Gentiles too, and we serve Gods design for the world, doing what He wants for us to do. One day, all Believers will be united in Heaven and can swap our stories, as we share our experiences.
I do believe that “pleasing your wife” also means treating her kindly and lovingly throughout the day. A husband cannot just please a women sexually and think all is good. We don’t work that way. A woman who feels safe and loved will be a woman who is willing to please her husband.
“Happy Wife happy Life” Is what they say… I know as a woman we would do everything we could if the husband would not just think of us as getting sex. Spend time, help out w/children if any & chores around the house etc….

correct...conversely, a woman cannot just please her husband sexually and then bring all sorts of drama, chaos, nagging, and disrupting of the peace the other 23 hours of the day. we dont work like that.
My husband and I have been married 30 years. This video would have been so helpful in our first 10 years of marriage! I’m very grateful my husband agreed (well maybe at first he was forced) to go to Christian counceling together and together we learned the Truth of sex and marriage!

Kathy may I ask do you and your husband have intercourse 3 weeks out he month? Better yet can you answer all these with a yes? (this is social experiment to reveal something to you)

2) Is he truly the one for you?
3) Does he last as long as you like in bed?
This is why I avoid church women a lot of fake I remember how shallow the church is especially women. Dated a church girl who claimed to be a virgin for 3 years as I was waiting only to find out she’s been with different dudes behind my back and sleeping with her other exes she told me was a friend. I’ll never go back to church again a lot of you Christian’s are fake you use religion to do good but most if you aren’t good people without religion your only good because of religion a bunch of shallow individuals
A healthy marriage is meeting both partners needs by asking your spouse,” what do you need from me to make you feel loved?” It’s different for each spouse. As a woman, I feel most loved when my husband listens to me and we have long talks, spending time together without kids, and making quality time for things other than sex. If we can connect mentally, emotionally then the rest follows. Women’s hormones, and men’s, can change after the age of 47. Trust me. Look at all the factors to understand what your spouse maybe going through. Make Jesus the center of your marriage. Blessings will come.

Let me ask you a rhetorical question here( I dont expect you to answer publicly): have you ever been sexually unfaithful to a man before? That is have you cheated sexually with a person you were not in a committed relationship? Did that man you slept with have to meet ALL those requirements that you laid out? The problem & concern of men is: women have 2 sets of requirements for sexual intimacy; 1 very long list of Do's & Don'ts for their partner/spouse. but a very, very short list of requirements for a small amount of guys (Pookey & Ray-Ray, or an Alpha guy). So why do women put their chosen man, their spouse through a much longer list of requirements than they would a man who would be a stranger? Many of the guys have an answer to this, but most women either seem oblivious to it or wont admit to it. THIS is the OUGHT (problem) that men have with women! 2 sets of standards!

My wife was a Christian (before she passed away), and I was not.
Once she died, I cried out to anything that would listen and God finally answered me, so because of her Death, I was saved.
When people say, your marriage wasn’t biblical, I get a bit angry, because I’m saved because I married a Christian woman and she put up with me.

I tried to use this on my own wife telling her that she is obligated to sexually please me and that her body belongs to me. Well after she stopped laughing she punched me right in the gut and asked me how I liked her body now. Thanks a lot, Allen:)

You forgot one Pastor Parr...MEDICAL ISSUES....My wife passed away after 38 years of marriage...Marriage was sexless for 20 years...her body could not receive me without severe pain..her surgeon tried many medical issues to no avail..

Thank you for bringing up this issue! I addressed it in my comment ( somewhere above) you are a godly man for believing this way... The majority don't! My opinion is that with medical problems, forcing the issue would be the same as rape/ abuse... As Christians, no one should inflict pain.

Medical issues are real for ladies. 70 percent of ladies have pain with sex at some point in life, not just the first time. Guys don't wanna communicate and think ladies are a sex bag. Sigh.
@@rachelm9350 Yes! There are so many things that can cause sex to be painful for women. We need to see our gynecologists when that happens. There are a lot of things that can be addressed to make it better. Communication between spouses and with doctors is so important!

Shouldn't all strong Christian men, especially those with platforms for teaching, be jumping into all the deep ends and if their gift is teaching, teaching regardless of what may come?
Thanks for the word today brother. Out of this I have learned that we must respect one another in marriage, and never lead one another into commiting a sin. Most importantly we must have a purpose of why we want to do something 🙏🙏💯🤞😊.

My wife and I are in the middle of another high risk pregnancy (Praise God for another beautiful little baby!! 😊) so we HAVE to abstain from sex for at least the next 6 months (maybe 7 including recovery time for her). We’re 3 months in! We had to do this with her last pregnancy too. Thankfully God blessed us with a marriage that is not reliant on that type of intimacy. Don’t get me wrong we enjoy sex with each other deeply but we don’t NEED it for our marriage to be happy. We find other ways to be intimate with each other that doesn’t involve sex. I believe that men ( as well as women!) need to educate themselves on gynecological health - things such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, etc. Such things can definitely impact this topic. Not to mention hormonal changes after menopause and hysterectomy. Empathy, compassion and understanding is the key. As Christians, we should not hurt or harm another - if sex is painful, pursuing the issue is abuse! Our society emphasizes and assumes that everyone should behave like lustful, unbridled 18 year olds... Circumstances changes, people can get ill and not all people age well. What if you are young and your spouse becomes incapacitated/ paralyzed/ etc? That is not an excuse to leave the marriage or look elsewhere... Many people don't understand the meaning of " for better or worse, in sickness and in health..." Intimacy, closeness, and Love, especially; is on many levels.

Using the exceptions to justify new rules is never a good idea. We should all seek to take care of our own bodies, and treat the bodies of our wives as our own. So if she has health issues that make sex painful, they need to get them sorted out, so that a return to non painful sex can happen. If that's impossible, well then other things would need to be discussed ... but telling your husband to just castrate himself and that part of his life which is God designed and beautiful, simply because the wife can't or refuses to seek the help or make the changes necessary to fix the issues, is not the way. I see this all too often, the idea of men just being able to "control themselves" ... are you aware of the health problems that occur for men when testosterone drops? They are already chronically low in men, when they can't have sex, or are told to "turn that off" ... it gets worse. This is a nuanced exception, and should be treated as such. Most men and women have no physical issues stopping them from having sex, we should teach the rule, and address exceptions when they arise, not the other way around.
This is by no means an exception - statistically, it is very widespread, worldwide. Just because something isn't spoken about, openly ( stigma, shame, taboo, etc.) doesn't mean it doesn't exist! Many health conditions are incurable - despite expensive treatments, surgeries, etc. And some cannot afford or have no access to treatment. Selfishness is no excuse for disobying Godly laws. The marriage vows do not state - " discard your spouse if they become ill or incapacitated." Abstinence has absolutely no negative medical effect on men - a urologist would laugh! " religious" but their marriage works because of COMMITMENT, AGAPE LOVE, unity, empathy, etc. - things the world needs more of!
Fortunately, this is no longer a large issue in the 1st world - but watch any documentary on fistulas - I recommend "The Road to Beautiful." This is precisely what happens to women's bodies when men think they own them, and pursue their own unbridled agendas. The women and girls in the documentaries are those who could access treatment - imagine the lives of those who couldn't. I am aware that in many religions - particularly Islam and Hinduism, marriage is not allowed for those physically incable of consumating the marriage - but we are talking about Christianity here. In the U.S., marriage is legally permitted between prison inmates, the developmentally disabled, those in nursing homes, etc. One can argue the ethics or wisdom of this, but these are the facts!

You just proved the same, it's a laughing matter to most, and yet the psychological and physiological effects of lack of (especially denial of) sex in a situation where sex is supposed to be happening (marriage) causes a myriad of issues.
Like I said, if the woman's issues physically can't be cured, other options would need to be discussed, and a loving Christian woman in that position certainly wouldn't just tell the man to chemically or emotionally castrate himself to "love her" by being ok without sex for the rest of his life.

I think it's so important to have these types of discussions openly and with compassion. There are some people out there on the Internet teaching women that if they don't feel like having sex with their husbands, they need to just get over it and do it anyway. After all, their husband gets up every morning and goes to work to provide for them even if he may not feel like it. This is really sad. Both parties need to know that God cares about both of them and wants them both to be satisfied in their marriage. Rather than tell people that sex is mandated in the Bible so they must do it, they need to know what sex in a healthy and loving marriage should look like.

Most of the time, women have NO clue how to treat men properly, or know what aman wants or thinks and frankly women dont care! So thankful you are addressing this!!! If your husband--or wife--is not interested in you in any way or doesn't seem to love you or is abusive mentally and or physically, you are not going to want to have sex at the end of the day!!!! It is the very last thing you want!!! Then that spouse uses that against you---and is not willing to listen to you or go to counseling --or lies the whole time or lies during the counseling sessions--it is horribly hurtful and still changes nothing. Sometimes things escalate and even become more abusive---even if the other spouse complies and has sex anyway. This can be the way even in a Christian marriage!!! Marriage needs to be based on more than just sex!!!
Did you take him to counselling just to change him and make him comply with YOUR wishes? Or did you go in willing to be transformed and comply with his wishes also? it is a known reality, that women are extremely difficult to counsel because they dont believe they have anything that needs to be changed! This was me and my ex-wife's problem ( both were Christians before marriage*). I stayed in counselling longer, even marriage counselling because she was unhappy with what the counselor told her. She didnt feel like she had a problem. This is very common attitude from women in counseling, particularly relationship counseling. I prayerfully ask you to check your heart & your motives. We all need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds!
I think Christian’s become to worldly with this whole counseling idea. Why can’t you both go to your Heavenly Father? Isn’t what God says more important? And lastly how many people use wisdom before getting married. How many women who are not virgins got healed from spiritual ties, mind you the more sexual partners a women has the less likely she is to stay married. How many men took the time to deal that issue? Instead crying later about it. Because it will come up in your marriage sooner or later. Lastly how much time did both people took into realizing if this is the person you want in your life till you die?
People lack wisdom then cry when it blows up in their faces.

I was promiscuous until 5 years ago. The molestation started at age 6. As a teenager I ran away from home and I was kidnapped for sex trafficking. I was in church for 50 years but during that time I never Fully surrendered my life over to God so I willfully sinned every single day. I had a porn addiction, I was going to the nightclubs, dressing provocatively, having affairs, I even slept with a pastor. Then in the summer of 2017 I was about to commit suicide because I had been struggling with 4 multiple personality disorders. I suddenly realized that it only takes 1 day to Listen to the New Testament Bible. I made a list of 182 verses from the New Testament that are just like 1st John 3:9-10. They scared the Hell right out of me. it says: "No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them, they cannot go on sinning because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the Devil are!! " My Victim mentality instantly died that day and I surrendered my Entire life to God. In 1 day God healed my mind, body, soul, and spirit. Now that I truly love God with ALL my heart, mind, soul, and strength, I have never even had a perverted thought or felt lonely in the last 5 years. I removed every unclean thing from before my eyes, because if our eye or your hand cause you to sin, cut them off. Jesus said Go and sin No more, not less! What sin is worth burning in Hell forever and ever? I have read/listen to my Bible from cover to cover every month for just over 5 years now. I wear an engagement ring to remind me that I am now a Wise Virgin that is waiting for her Bridegroom.

For most women sex is emotional. If the husband is not feeding those emotions don’t expect sex. When you make an emotional connection with your wife they’ll help you with your physical needs.

Just like a man doesn’t want to be intimate with a woman who doesn’t treat him right, a woman doesn’t either, and she doesn’t have to.
This is not even up for debate because it's directly written in scripture:
"For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control." (1 Corinthians 7:4-5)
A husband has authority over their wife's body but the wife also has authority over their husbands body. This is good because it's a loving, unselfish marriage on both sides. It makes sense why Paul writes this, Christ exemplifies selflessness, God IS love.

You did not mention what the divorce was about, but there are only two acceptable reasons to divorce. The bible states that we are allowed to divorce for infidelity (allowed because of the hardness in our hearts it causes, not required) and if your spouse leaves you and files for divorce there is nothing you can do to stop them, therefore God must be accepting of that divorce also...

My responsibilities and sleepless nights have never changed regardless of whether I've stayed home or worked. Whether contributing financially or not, ACTIVELY taking care of the life you've helped to create is the point of procreation and the main reason for calling oneself a "parent." The definition of a parent is being the caregiver of your own offspring. Its hard with one and I refuse to bring another to reset my life. A child doesn't keep the man but it definitely keeps the mother lol. Marriage or not.

I noticed you didn't mention all the things husbands are responsible for on a daily basis... btw none of those things are the reason(s) why a husband should treat a wife with care, because it's not conditional, he should do it to glorify and imitate Jesus Christ. She should do all those things for her husband and family, for the same reason. Including have sex with him after all that if he wants it, or if she wants it, because that is glorifying God too, especially when you're "tired" or "not in the mood" but your spouse is.

It's common in Christian marriages that after being overloaded with information FOR YEARS about how bad and evil it is to have sex...once you get married the desire isn't the same. Many Christian couples have discussed this...especially a lot of the women. They didn't feel comfortable for YEARS in their marriages after being told for years they were going to going to hell for any type of sexual immorality. That fear of doing something "bad" didn't leave them even after they got married. That's where things are now. It's hard to come from out of that. Again, I feel like churches don't properly address sexuality in general. And there is so much confusion and heartache.

However, in addition to abstaining during agreed prayer & fasting, and hormonal changes of the woman or man, what about abstaining during the woman's menstrual (Lev. 15:19 and 20:18)? If a husband is not providing a safe and comfortable place for his wife and a secure life then how he expect certain sexual duties from her? So he got marry to her only for sex ? Ok then … hmmm!
Safe and comfortable are ultimately going to depend on the mood or state of the wife and that'll fluctuate constantly. Your duty to provide sex to each other isn't conditional, the Bible makes that clear. While he has a separate command (not this verse) to love you unconditionally, self sacrificially, etc ... that can't be the basis for providing sex, if it is the woman will usually always end up weaponizing sex, the temptation is simply too difficult to avoid, that's the entire point of this teaching (when taught right) ... most women do not have the self control to not fall into the mindset of "well I don't feel loved, so I'm not in the mood, so he's not getting any" or "if you play your cards right honey, you might get lucky."
Flip the script, would you accept the statement "I'm happy to love you, make you feel comfy and safe, but only as long as you provide me with good sex that I'm pleased with, if you don't, the comfort and safety will stop until you do"... I think not. And you shouldn't, but we shouldn't teach the opposite either, which we are.

What if your husband is super overweight, been unfaithful for years, and treats you like an object? I'm so disgusted with him. Just thinking about giving him my body throws me into a panic attack, makes me ill and I start shaking uncontrollably. I used to give myself to him whenever he wanted but he still went to other women. I'm completely against sex. I've lost all of my sex drive and all of my desire for him. I also have sexual trauma from childhood. I refuse to give myself to him. He disgusts me in every sense of the word. I'm only with him still bc of our kids and bc I don't want to have a divorce on my record. He's claimed to be faithful for the last year but I still can't bring myself to even think of even doing anything to please him in any sense. I don't do his laundry or cook for him anymore. I do nothing for him anymore. He ruined our relationship. I tried to force myself to be with him but it's only left me with suicidal thoughts. I hate to say it but I honestly hate him. I'm doing my best not to. Idk what to do. I want to leave him but I can't. We aren't happy with each other. I can't measure up to the women he chose to watch online. He used to be EVERYTHING to me! I almost worshipped the ground that man walked on. I took care of myself and the house, everything. Just for him to not be satisfied with me and want other people. I can't ever give myself to him again. Even the thought of using him for my own pleasure disgusts me. I cry thinking about how I ever gave myself to him. I feel defiled and used and disgusting and not enough and ugly, you name it. I'm trash. My depression has only gotten worse over the last year. My only moments of peace or happiness are when I think of leaving him. So I guess that's my only option even though I'm doing my very best to find another way. I'm trying to find something for him, anything other than hatred and disgust. It's destroying me inside. I haven't even cleaned my house this whole past year. I've literally done nothing but lay in bed, dissociate, cry my eyes out and pray for God to take this from me and to give me a new heart and mind. It's not a matter of forgiveness, it's a matter of our bond amd my desire for him has been completely severed. I just can't ever see him or myself the same or in a good light ever again.

Sound like you’re in a soul tie I can’t choose what decision you will make that is up to you and god but soul ties are gruesome to say from experience they make you feel like your the problem even when you have done everything you can and everything possible I don’t have advice to give you but it definitely sounds like a soul tie and those take a while to get out of. Regardless change is needed and prayers go out to you speak with god seek counsel and wisdom god sees your situation and believe me sometimes it feels impossible or like it will always be this way but trust me it won’t.

We look at it as we both should serve each other. There are times I am really tired but still serve my wife and she does the same for me. But also we understand a real long lasting marriage is more than just sex. We just love and respect each other and the great sex life comes natural. But of course being both Bible believing Christians we are connected on a deeper level.

1. Hormonal change....yes! Pre-menopause or menopause, a time where women really need understanding from their husbands and not been made to feel guilty. It's hard enough for the woman dealing with the changes, which are very real and not excuses, and can be very upsetting for her when she can't deliver for her husband in that area, it affects her mentally and emotionally and if forced through guilt triping her it will affect her physically. God wants love and understanding not bullying and guit triping your wives during such a change in their lives, as if wives do it out of spite and lack of submission. Compassion is what is needed. Its not entirely blaming the other! This is a short-sighted view of what is happeneing, and a lie through omission. Each side of this debate is truly and totally ignorant of how the other operates! This ignorance is the first sin (problem) but by no means the last. Thanks to this ignorance, each side does what they think is right in their own eyes (they give the other what they themselves want or need, not what the other actually wants or needs). So onward the cycle continues. Each side believes they are trying there best, and maybe they are, but are still greatly missing the mark! I wonder what advice would be given for the spouse who has been sinned against and does not feel emotionally safe to be vulnerable. He mentioned underlying marriage problems. What if the person causing those problems insists they don’t exist? And the wife feels like having a panic attack at the thought of sex?

Short answer is yes. You can’t preach no sex without marriage and then get married and are not giving it up! It’s false advertising! I wish my husband would tell me he no he has no right! I have a higher sex drive and if I can’t get sex from my husband who else can I get it from I’m stuck! If my man wants sex he gets it. Sex is good for husband and wife so much intimacy comes from it, now of course we should be understanding but if both of us are not sick and are abled body then saying no to sex is wrong!

@@lisacox3750 I'm not the only one? I found sex to be a great way to make beauty babies, but as entertainment I've never found it all that interesting. There are probably a thousand things I'd rather do with my time. I was married for 14 years and "wifely duties" was the most challenging part of marriage for me. I've been very happily divorced for 28 years now, absolutely no desire to marry again. The ex remarried, was widowed, and would like to find a third wife. Amazing how different people can be.

This was good teaching. My question is there have been 1 and every 4 women that have been sexually assaulted. I know of women who have been raped throughout their life and struggle in sex, especially when it becomes demanding. Also the hormonal change is real. I think these topics aren’t touched on Enough and then it ends up supporting a rape culture within the church. this is a topic that i don’t hear many preachers speak on. But the amount of women that feel like they are basically raped by their husbands is Allstar astronomical and people use this scripture as a space to manipulate.
I have been abundantly blessed to have a very understanding and supportive husband. We don't have sex very often and we mutually agree our marriage is more than sex.
I'm so glad you brought that up! Marital rape is real. So are histories of long term sexual assault as children. I agree, we live in a rape culture. And then, after all that, the wife is often pressured to give her body away over and over.
Thank you! Many women and some men were sexually abused as children. I am one of them. I really have so little desire for sex in my life but still want to be married. I'm in my early 40s and it's hard. I don't think I will ever find a man who will understand me. I've dated, and even Christian men still want sex even before marriage. It's just the facts. Let's not pretend it's not a real thing. I don't have sex with them and everything ends. It makes me sad and I feel unlovable. I love intimacy..but not intercourse. It physically makes me ill and it's painful. I have been in therapy for years for all my childhood trauma. It's just hard. I want love and I do want marriage, but I need someone who understands my situation.
Many men don't. They just don't. I've been dating on and off for 20 years and nothing really changes. And I'm alone. I'm a writer and former journalist so I talk to other women who are Christian who have been through what I have and WAY worse. Many women felt abandoned by their churches when they talked about sexual abuse. And yes...marital rape is VERY real. Some of my Christian women friends have discussed this too. The church is failing people...not just women but EVERYONE when they don't get real about sexuality. They don't talk about it in an honest way.
The church doesn't talk to teenagers about sexuality in an honest way and they definitely don't talk about the REAL expectations after marriage.

Well, once your brain is taught that something is bad, it's hard to flip it back to thinking it's good just because we're now married. Thankfully God majorly blessed me with an understanding husband.

This was an honest question but unfortunately a lot of Pastors won’t touch this subject . I’m convinced that God doesn’t have a Pharisee approach when it comes to this topic. He loves his children and no Father wants their child to be raped or feel as though they are being raped or forced. I do believe it’s something that should be walked through, but i just honestly wish Pastors and/teachers would expound more on this . We can’t look at statistics and not see this as being a problem.

Women will always be quicker to claim they are on the receiving end of abuse, even when they are not; men will often be on the receiving end of abuse and they wont see it! keep all these in mind as you listen to women's interpretation/diagnoses of what a problem is. Some women do have a capacity to be fair & restrained and i want to acknowledge it and commend it! but more often they sound like the OP. And society absolutely encourages, promotes it!
