At my previous church, I was always pushed to date these single men to the point I wanted nothing to do with getting married. They assumed I was desperate and lonely for a man (because I am in my 30's.) Once I left that ministry, things began to fall into place & I am happy to say I will be getting married next week after being in a relationship for a little over 3 years. 😊

this was encouraging to read. I`m in the same spot and I`m 27. I don`t feel desperate yet but people around me make me go crazy, if anything it turns me off from men and marriage :(

This is NOT only a struggle for young people. I’m 62 years old and have been single for 26 years. I still struggle with lust and it’s heartbreaking when I slip. I love the Lord and I desire obedience in all ways. I know we all fall short but this seems to be a sin apart from others. Thank you for this video and look forward to anything more. I will be victorious as ANYTHING is possible with Christ Jesus!

So what is the right reason for marriage? Companionship?

    • @life.exchange.ministries
      @life.exchange.ministries ปีที่แล้ว

The right reason for marriage is indeed companionship, as well as procreation, and sanctification... Nothing shapes a man or woman into the image of Christ like that person you love, and have to love.

I married a nonbeliever when I was a nonbeliever, and now I'm on fire for Jesus and can never deny he is real again. The best advice I can give everyone reading this is to find someone who loves Jesus more than they love you, and the vast majority of your issues will work themselves out. God's plan is always the best plan. Being in love with someone who denies Jesus is worse than being single.

I’m glad a Bible teacher is addressing this topic because not many people in the church really break down and explain these things. They expect you to be married by a certain age… but never tell you how to go about seeking or searching for a spouse.

Got born again recently in April and this spiritual walk has been beautiful. I thank God for the gift of sexual control and even since i recieved Christ, i trully stopped stressing myself on issues of marriage. Am 38,single,no kids and alot of people especially family look down on me for they feel i don't belong. I gave God my all and i believe and trust His plans for my life. True i desire to get married to a Godly man who will love God even much more than me, but at this point, am working more on finding my purpose and calling in God's Kingdom.

Welcome brother/sister in Christ. FACTS marriage isn't about sex it's about intimacy, procreating children and trusting each other. AMEN and God bless brother Allen Parr ministry I'm glad I don't have sex before marriage because fornication and pornography leads to adultery when married ☺️. Getting a goodnight sleep after a long day of working as a teacher's assistant, biochemist and sociology professor is what takes up my time after doing Christian Apologetics and making video edits on comics and pop culture. In this world we all have worries due to pain brought in Life from natural disasters, fears and stress fueled by nothing but the moral depravity of humanity. It's heartbreaking and unpleasant but TRUE.
ATHEISM AIN'T GOT NOTHING NEW OR BETTER TO OFFER THAN THE VERY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS THEY'RE CRITICAL OF SO IT'S HYPOCRISY AT IT'S FINEST 😂. Hello this is for all you Atheists, unbelievers and skeptics. I'm going to address a few misconceptions and lies about God's Character and His Word. The Bible doesn't support chattel slavery or anything else Immoral. Ok so Atheists and unbelievers say God is either Immoral, incompetent or not responsible so let's see what The Scriptures actually say. God revealed himself and created a nation in a real, historical context. It was a world with a slave-based economy, with city states often at war with each other, with polygamous marriages to ensure the continuation of family lines. The laws of the Old Testament regulate this behaviour. Slaves are to be treated humanely (Exodus 21:11). They are given rights and not seen as mere possessions. Hebrew slaves were able to buy their own freedom. Human trafficking is condemned (Exodus 21:16). In contrast to the law code of Babylon, Old Testament Israel was a light to the nations. The Old Testament law and narratives do not stand alone. Jesus is now the best example of what we read. So the moral teaching of the Bible cannot be summarised by a quote taken out of context from the Old Testament to demonize God and His Word. Slavery was permitted in Old Testament law but it was regulated by God giving the Israelites instructions on how to fairly and humanely treat their slaves (it was like indentured servitude where someone could work for you if they owed debts or needed income not cruel like chattel slavery). God allowed the people of Israel to own slaves since they themselves has already experienced over 400 years of generations of Egyptian slavery and knew how inhumane it was to be beaten, overworked and taxed so God set them apart from other nations and cultures around them by giving them a fair way to treat their slaves since slavery had already existed in the world but it doesn't mean God condoned it just used it for His Will to bring Good And in the light of the whole scriptural teaching, we find the reasons for its ultimate abolition (Ephesians 6:9; Colossians 4:1-3; Philemon 15-16 and Galatians 3:28). The Word of God provided the moral standard against slavery in the Roman Empire and against the slave trade in the New World.
But what of genocide or holy war in the book of Joshua? Several things could be pointed out. The use of warfare in the ancient world did not always mean literal total destruction, even when events are described in such terms. Furthermore, the book of Joshua does not describe a genocide. It is not a race who are being wiped out, as in genocide, but a religious practice which was often appalling and degrading. Those who repent (like Rahab from Jericho or Ruth) are not destroyed but become part of Israel. It is not the racial group that is in view but their "detestable practices".
However, after all is said, we must still acknowledge that God brought judgment on the nations of Canaan. It is not our place as believers isn't to sugar-coat the Bible. For some skeptics, this is enough to make God a moral monster. But the fact is that Jesus continued to affirm that God is a Judge who will bring a future judgment on all peoples and all nations. God’s judgment will be just. The list of Old Testament stories rejected by critics often leads to a similar dismissal of the New Testament teaching of Jesus on the existence of hell.
After all, what was the Flood of Genesis or the conquest of Joshua if not a glimpse of future judgment? Hell does not demonstrate cruelty on God’s part, but it does demonstrate His Holiness and our moral accountability. Perhaps this is the real reason many people rail against the God of the Bible? It is not that they think He is a moral monster, but that they are afraid He is a moral Judge, and that has implications for our behaviour now. God is an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being and we as His creatures have Eternal souls and spirits so the punishment for our sins against Him must therefore also be Eternal but so must the reward for righteousness that's why He sent His Son Jesus to live a perfectly righteous and sinless Life (which none of us could ever possibly expect to do) suffer the humiliating and torturous death of crucifixion to shed His Own Blood willingly so that all who willingly accept His gift of salvation by grace through faith in Him will be saved and given Eternal life because that's what God wants is for us to willingly accept His gift of salvation and choose life. Exodus 21:20-21 literally speaks about capital punishment befalling anyone who mistreats their slaves so yes people are taking Scripture out of context to demonize God who literally promises that slaves who are mistreated under someone else's authority is to be avenged. When we hear the word “slavery” we think of innocent human beings, kept prisoner for life, having no rights under law and so reduced to animals. This is clearly immoral because it is unjust: the slave has done nothing to deserve the treatment.
The situation described as “slavery” in the Bible was nothing like this. It is more accurately described as one of indentured servitude. Many “slaves” were indentured servants, working for a term of years
Some other “slaves” were prisoners. There were no prisons. Prisoners had to work to live like everyone else. Some had life sentences. Some served a term and were released.
People didn't beat their good slaves but treated them well and protected their assets thus.
But no matter how rebellious a slave was, you couldn't just beat them to death. And if you knocked out their tooth or damaged their eye then you had to set them free. (Exodus 21:26). God wasn't using what other nations did because He wanted to set His Chosen People of Israel apart from the cruel, inhumane and unjust systems other cultures had so He gave them a fair way to treat their slaves and servants.
There is a lot of ignorance on this topic which is understandable given the age we live in but it's not the nefarious set up we think of when we think of modern slavery. The question Atheists must ask themselves is how come the Jews aren't being accused of slavery and human trafficking if they're guilty of it in The Bible and why would white slave owners rip out pages from The Old and New Testament Scriptures to justify their owning blacks as slaves if The Bible already justified slavery?

I was married for 15 years and now I have been celibate for almost 2.5 years; by the grace of God. You have to run to God and be honest with him about your desires because if you want to be kept, God will keep you. I remember crying out to him and being honest about having sex outside of marriage and he gave me three words; he did not say," I understand, you are human," he did not say," I understand because you are a man", he just said, " to your detriment!" You have to ask him for the grace to stay pure because its his will that you stay pure. You also must guard your eyes, mind, and thoughts. Tell him your struggles. I don't want to offend him because he has never offended me, so I run to him. After all- he is the Lord of all flesh

I’m struggling with my singleness more and more as I get older. I’m 32/single and can’t help but feel depressed about my situation. I feel guilty because I’m supposed to be content in Christ, but I can’t shake this aching desire to be a wife. To have someone to share my life with. Most people around me are in relationships and I’m the only oddball that’s always single. I can’t talk to people about church about the sadness I feel because they give me the same tired/judgmental responses. Only God knows my pain. If I’m to live like this for the rest of my life, I at least want to be satisfied with it.

The only answer is to get closer to Christ, and when you do, God will most likely give you a wife.
If you feel you still have faults, then repent of them and let God help you to work them out, so that they plague you less and less. Then you won't be so worried and insecure, and the peace and joy of the Lord will come more into your heart, and then manifest in your life more.
One will become more humble and inviting to others when they do this.

In God's original plan (i.e. Eden), there was no risk associated with a man and woman marrying and starting a family, because no one knew how to sin, or wanted to. In today's world, the chances of a truly godly marriage (even in the hands of people who truly want to be obedient to God) are so low that some of us just stay single to avoid messing up. It all depends on your attitude and whether you want the relationship to last or not.
After recommitting to Christ and allowing Him to shape my view of relationships and what part sex should play within a healthy relationship, my outlook has improved so much. I’m not desperate to feed into the attention of every man that looks my way and I’m more content and relaxed in this season of singleness that God currently has me in.
Naturally, I still would like to get married some day but God has blessed me with patience for His timing. He is blessing me to understand that there is so much else going on that He wants me to currently focus on, planting seeds in every area of my life. God has blessed me with the reassurance that if it is in His Will for me to get married, then when He blesses it to happen in His perfect timing I will finally be allowed to understand why it never worked out with anyone else. God is personally writing my love story and anything that is surrendered to God is something that I know for a fact will work out for good and peace.

I've done absolutely nothing sexual (thanks to Allen), for nearly 3 years and sometimes I just want to bang my head against a wall. My sexual desire is beyond fighting a pornography/masturbation addiction - it's fighting my basic human instincts to procreate. Alcoholism is horrible but it's not built into our DNA like procreation is. Nobody understands...the few people that know (because I can't exactly brag about it) can't begin to understand - my alcoholic father can relate but at least he can tell people and get some sympathy - I just get weird looks like I just grew a third eye. I've been debating finding the first Christian girl I see, marry her in 2 weeks, and fully release my desires. But I know I can't. This video is a good reminder of what matters most. Serving God. I am prepared to serve God as a single man my whole life. This is hard to admit sometimes, but the satisfaction I get from serving God outweighs my desires. If marriage happens, it happens. If not, I'm not going to cry about it. I'm just going to thank God and try to be the best brother, son, and friend I can be.

There’s no such thing as “the right one”. Every person probably has 2-3 “eligible” marriage candidates in their life, they just “don’t want them”. This is typically because they don’t find the person all that physically attractive. This is the problem with modern day relationships. There too much emphasis on the physical and not enough on the stuff that matters. No one marries anyone from their friend group, which is mind-blowing to me. Like, I would want to be friends with my future spouse before I got involved romantically, because I want to see them as a person before feelings and all get involved. Also, if I choose to have someone in my life for a few years as a friend, then that means they’re probably a good person that I enjoy being around. 2 qualities I want in a spouse.
Also, and I’m gonna get a bunch of hate for this part, but that passage from Paul is the ONLY place in the Bible that says it’s better to be single. From the very beginning of time God points out that singleness isn’t good, that’s why he made Eve for Adam. Don’t fall into the “gift of singleness” trap. Sure, don’t get all kinds of depressed if you are single, but also stop acting like your chance will never come. Go do something to meet people your age and ask a girl/guy out if you’re lonely. Visit a local church, attend a community event, etc. Or, look at your friend group at some of the people you may be overlooking. God made you to be in relationship with others. Don’t let 1 verse hold you up, read the rest of your Bible and see that that 1 verse is an outlier

    • @EmmyFrankGoodin
      @EmmyFrankGoodin ปีที่แล้ว +7

That passage doesn't say "it's better to be single." That's a half-read of the passage. It says it's better IF you can control yourself. Most of us can't and God knows this of course, which is why it's clearly better for the vast majority of us to marry. No one has set a "gift of singleness" trap. That's just you half reading and half interpreting the passage and creating a straw man argument. You mean well but accuracy is important.

    • @nathan1sixteen
      @nathan1sixteen ปีที่แล้ว

@@EmmyFrankGoodin yes, and that is the ONLY place it says that in the Bible. Woman was made for man, so the baseline is that Man should be with women. I’m not going to get into my take on that passage, but it’s definitely not Allen Parrs take. I think it’s a lot closer to when Jesus says things like “Be perfect just as my Father is perfect”. In other words, as a human, you CANNOT NOT burn with passion. It’s engrained into your DNA. It’s your nature. It’s like when Paul says “to live is Christ, to die is gain”. Yes, heaven and eternity is better than life in Earth will ever be, but it also doesn’t mean you should go off yourself. Marriage is the rule, singleness is the exception. There’s a reason that marriage is talked about so highly in the Bible, it’s because it’s something we should all strive for. It’s a representation of God’s relationship with the church. Sure, it would be better if we didn’t need it and could rest solely on God, but we can’t because we are sinful. I also think this was one of Paul’s “I’m better than you” moments that you see throughout his letters.
Also, that “clarification” is pointless. It’s like saying “the Bible doesn’t say it’s better to be able to talk, it says it’s better IF you can control your tongue”. Obviously it’s only better if you can keep from sinning, but that better is the STANDARD.

I'm a 22 year old college graduate who's never had sex before marriage or been in a relationship even in college or high school out of personal experience with many modern Women that was unpleasant and nothing I needed in my life.
FACTS marriage isn't about sex it's about intimacy, procreating children and trusting each other. AMEN and God bless brother Allen Parr's ministry for your Christ centered and Scripturally accurate content for the furtherance of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏❤️👊. I'm glad I haven't had sex before marriage because fornication and pornography leads to adultery when married ☺️.

At the end of the day we will never get rid of our sexual and burning desires, even if you try not to look at the opposite sex. With that said, I think your other point is the core issue now days (especially for men); way too many christian men have turned to masturbation to cope with not having premarital sex, and that will completely wreck your ability to stay unaroused.
Sadly, many don't view that as an issue worth worrying about until it is way too late, and yes, I do feel there is a point where your mind can be so warped by porn and the act of masturbation, that you will never be an eligible candidate for marriage, especially as a christian.

When I was in my 20s, I married a woman that I didn't love for the purpose of sex. I can personally testify that this is NOT the answer. My marriage was absolutely miserable and it ended in divorce. I beg and plead with all young Christian men and women: WAIT for God and WAIT for the right person. Waiting always pays off when it is blessed by God. His plan is always better than our plan. Purity may be hard, but it is far better than entering marriage with the wrong person just so you can have sex. You will quickly realize how little sex you actually end up having in a bad marriage that is not founded in love and respect for one another. If you are struggling to stay pure while waiting, talk to your pastor or other men at your church to keep you accountable.

If I might share wisdom, it’s this:
1 Corinthians 7 is clear. You have to throw out all of your pre conceived ideas because the call is bigger than you think. Paul says to marry if your burning BECAUSE the end of all things is near. He adds how we shouldn’t have any dealings with the world, how we should live as if we’re not married or to not weep if you are at this said time [im quoting parts from the end of the chapter], to not rejoice if you are and so on, all to ultimately sums up his points by saying:
“the time has been shortened” [v29] and, “the form of this world is passing away.” [v31].
He’s drawing the reader to understand that we want to be LIKE those who are “free from concern”, and who seek to “please the LORD” and not their spouses. How one “may be holy both in body and spirit” and not divided. His desire is for us to “to secure undistracted devotion to the Lord.” So because of immoralities, because “each man has his own gift from God”, and because it’s harder for some to now practice self control, it’s Paul calling the communities to practice such a radical measure that goes so against the grain of how we think we should date or marry or find “the one”, or even take time for engagement or planning of weddings for all the family to see “at the best time”, solely for the sake of righteousness- to fulfill all righteousness and not be distracted with the burning passions of the flesh that go unfulfilled, or acting in a manner that transgresses the commandments of God.
To the couple who marries in this way, it should be not for the sake of lust, but rather because lust is waging war with ones ability to hold fast the commands of God. So you should see then marriage as not a dating venture, but as a Gods given grace to you FOR purity.
[Also, I did this, and me and my beloved wife are living in light of eternity, waiting for the Kingdom of Messiah, so it’s true that the person shouldn’t be any one right off the street or from your past whom you know is not a believer- my advice would be to test each other. Be upfront about your desire to be obedient to the commands of God, and your looking for a partner to help you in a way that no one else can as you both see yourselves as sojourners. For my marriage, we didn’t need all these points Parr brought up, IN LIGHT of living out 1 Corinthians 7 because we both had the same goal- to go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the God of Jacob, to be students of Messiah and walk in His paths. For the Law comes forth from Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. It’s from that conviction, that marrying in light of eternity made much sense where we wasn’t checking off criteria on how to please each other or how we can by our interests as Paul was advising not to do. I do believe in being equally yoked, so again I’m not saying marry anyone. But if you both are very mature in the faith, not looking to play church but truly sojourn with the people of God, and imitate the faith of those from Hebrews 11, then I’d advise this for you.]

Are you physically attracted to them? This point is very important, I am always being told it doesn't matter as I should only be spiritually attracted. I know for sure that this is not true. I watched a lot of marriages; especially Christian marriages fail because they had no attraction to each other. Sometimes in the church, we are seen as bad people for not being attracted to the who they try to force us to date in the church. I was considered offensive for sharing that I want an attractive husband as I know I take care of myself and would want someone I find attractive. (I also face the challenge of being looked down upon because I like to date outside of my ethnicity. Oh well…)
Do I enjoy their company? Am I able to be vulnerable? What is their character? What is their calling? This where I struggle as it is hard to find men of God with the same passion and desire for God as myself. Sadly, there are hardly any men in the church. Some people get too religious and show no love or empathy in the home but acts concern and holy at church. Many times, the husbandly and wifely duties are not balanced because they are only focused on the ministry. Very powerful points! I’m still prayerful for my husband as the journey is not easy but I know it’s worth it.

This is a bit lengthy in response but apparently what takes about 90 seconds speaking, takes several... several paragraphs being written out - please pardon the length and any speech-to-text typos, lol!!
    Ok.
Whereas I commend you on the sheer gall to take it to the next level on a topic like this which [as you share] can be mired in subjectivity… most pastors would kick this down the road for fear of their own spouses' reactions... which is a whole other topic by itself. I had to go back and redress a particular statement you made with a degree of certainty that left a question mark...
    In respectful dissent.

My thoughts are because you mentioned that you supposed [as a process] was biblical, turns out [this issue] you don't find in the scriptures anywhere… nor even expressed culturally through scripture - that [is] to say, a man is supposed to pursue a woman in relationship, but you do find it in modern culture.
This isn't necessarily a good thing.

Again, paraphrasing, you don't see men as a normative in scripture nor is it laid out anywhere as a doctrine that a man has to pursue a woman in relationship. We see this as a cultural expression quite contemporaneously, but micro to macro, there's a reason why you don't in scripture through symbolism to an extent is... everything.

If memory serves… there are only a handful of instances in scripture where a man specifically went after a woman but not necessarily as a matrimonial pursuit, even if you include Hosea.

    - Jacob and Rachel: That patrimony of the 12 tribes in which Jesus' line would enter time, history, and posterity.
    - Samson and Delilah... which was disqualified as a pursuit on the onset he was seeking an occasion to humble the Philistines
    - David and Abigail... God paired him with a woman in the exact same situation she was in, an environment she wasn’t thrilled with, meaning she understood David's situation with Saul, that was pure grace.
    - David and Bathsheba [the sin of his sexual lust was passed to Solomon and Amnon - the rest is history as they say]
    - Xerxes and Hadassa [Esther] but he didn't pursue her, he fired a queen for insubordination [note not to dismiss that premise] and followed counsel to replace her… that’s not a pursuit, that was an adjudication.
    - Hosea was told by God to marry a prostitute, which does not qualify as a pursuit but [more] an act of obedience.
    - Jesus and the bride of Christ [the church], he isn't chasing us he's waiting for us to make a decision for him and stick to it, which are the lessons of the epistles. It is man in his carnal state who must make a decision for Him, turn in His direction [repent... change of direction in pursuit] to be justified [reconciled into relationship] and pursue relationship as a living member of the bride of Christ who must believe in her heart, and profess with her lips and then be bathed [baptism] as a public profession of her acceptance of commitment.
    - Israel and their relationship with God, when Israel as a people turned to other gods, scripture refers to it as “whoring after other gods”

Those are just a few examples... but in Genesis 2:5-6, the Lord establishes his purpose for man, and created man first to be responsible for who would follow to be responsible for... and put him to work, the term "husbandry" or husbandman [as it related to the topic] is the management of landscaping… and that stands to reason because God placed man in a garden, his job was to maintain [lay claim] and cultivate [subdue] it to make provision from the resources God put in it.

It was only when man was working and doing what God created him for did he discover, later in chapter 2 that there was not a comparable mate found for him [Gen. 2:19-20]. So there we can see how the Lord intends man to discover what kind of companion is going to work for him, and this did not happen until he did - in short, be about productive business showing you can take care of what God provides you in a spouse... when he sees you're ready [I Tim 5:8]
God is serious about a man's role in providing not just for his current family, but the welfare of his children's children,,, so much so, He tells us what He thinks about a man who doesn't in the aforementioned verse - God is a generational God and seeks after the good of all those whom he allowed to be created. If we did it God's way... we would have the perversion of government we have today.

The union of marriage man has worked itself way out of design from with the Lord originally had intended. If you want to really extrapolate the relationship between man and woman and matrimony the way God kinda has it laid out in scripture, it is difficult to exegete scripture in Genesis 2 and not walk away that he intended to have more of an employer/employee relationship, as it connotes and defines a clear purpose in the 1st. Commission [e.g. the first purpose of mankind]:
    1. To take Dominion, meaning to lay claim too
    2. To subdue, meaning to cultivate and gain the benefit of what you claimed [based your giftings and purpose]
    3. Replenish, meaning to procreate to appropriate as many hands on deck as needed to accomplish the mission God has set before him, micro to macro.

Of the three applications, two were designed for man, God... who man made responsible. Who he [then] made responsible he gave giftings to aid in that responsibility. He created woman to support and aid man in his responsibility. Now as a matter of clarity... God doesn't deal in equality, he deals in purpose and he deals in clarity and order [1 Cor 14:33 - I Cor 14:60 ] there are roles and responsibilities for a reason to help accomplish His will... and were never intended to usurp His plan for us corporately.
P.S. there is a part II to this post but I just wanted to get the main gist out there - spoken not to incite or to be antagonistic - but as iron sharpening iron.
    Blessings

I know the Apostle Paul recommended that a man & woman should marry if they cannot wait, to avoid burning with lust. With all due respect to him, I strongly disagree. It takes more that legal sex to make a marriage work, & undertaking such a crucial lifelong committment because a couple can't wait to have legitimate sex is immature & irresponsible & shouldn't be marrying for those very reasons. Thay's my 2 cents.

Great video! First and foremost, thank you for saying that it's okay to be single. The other day, I was just reading a Facebook post about how the Church often rushes women to get married. (Find your Boaz/kingdom spouse in 6 months! Guaranteed! *eyeroll*) Thankfully, my current church home doesn't make me feel that I need to get married before the 2024 election. Secondly, thank you also for saying that physical attraction matters with men AND women. In the future, I don't want to wake up next to my husband and be horrified. I also want to add that if people are getting married just to have sex, then they should get counseling. I learned from married family members and friends that marriage is more than just having sex. I do desire a husband to share my life with, but I feel that I'm not in a rush because my life is full as it is (with my relationship with God, family - I have no children, work, business, ministry, friends, self-care). I just believe God that I will get married on His timing.

SAME HERE DUDE 😊.

But ur totally right I wanted to be done with school at 22 and get experience save and get all adulting figured out before I married now I feel “rushed”
But life turned out way different than I planned.
And it’s kinda sad going to church or being apart of every one else’s “celebrations” and don’t even have nothing to be happy about or a relationship going. But it’s better than dating or marrying the wrong person for sure. Or having long term debt from college.
I wish you well finding the right person to date (if that’s what you want)
I hope we both find someone we are looking for haha. Bc I personally don’t wanna be single much longer (it’s been over 10 years bc of set backs sure I’ve talked to some but nothing stuck bc of my situation) lol

For me, the mere idea that my wife might be nothing more than a godly sex toy is completely disgusting. If that is the case, it won't be more satisfying than sinful outlets because you would still crave a deeper connection and companionship that sex alone can't bring.
People are often very concerned with whether you have sex with someone else or not but you can actually have a very deep intimacy with someone, enjoy their company a lot and love them deeply without having sex with that person. That will be cheating even if in front of mankind you might claim that you did nothing wrong.
    May God help us.

I don't think most people want to get married anymore. They don't see the value in it including Christians. They get married to have sex, have someone who will help around the house, and help with the bills. That's about it. That's why people still have sex but don't get married. The number of people not getting married will increase but the number of people having sex will not decrease and I'm talking about Christians too. It was always meant to happen that way.
I know people don't want to hear this but you cant' "rid" yourself of natural desires. You can't. There is a reason you have those desires...those desires is what leads to procreation. It's very natural and to not be honest about that is problematic to me. I find the church behind on things like this. They shame people for things that are totally natural. I'm not saying people should be going out and having sex with people outside marriage. What I am saying is...stop the shaming. Stop making people feel bad about things that are natural. It helps no one and it's not a sin. That's all I ever hear is "this is a sin" and "that is a sin". What isn't a sin in Christianity? I'm totally serious at this point.
I have always considered myself a Christian, but I have found myself questioning everything these days. It bothers my spirit that I have so many issues. I feel no shame in my questioning...I'm more upset that I feel like most churches aren't honest with the people. I want to know the real details of how the Bible came to be and why all the changes. I know it's been translated over and over for a very long time. And my understanding is a lot of things were mistranslated and that's what I'm more interested in. My understanding is that several things that were taught as "sin" for decades were not actually sins at all. So...church leaders need to start being open about this. I'm feeling more lead to believe a lot of the "sins" were made up by church leaders to control the people of the times and not even about salvation at all. I'm going to continue to do my research.

Even though Paul tells the men that if they cannot contain themselves and keep their members under control, that it is better for them to get married then to burn in their lust, speaking as a woman, I would not want to be married to any man if that was the chief reason, or the only reason that they married me. I would not want to be chosen as the one that you want to USE to gratify your sexual lust. If that is all I am to you then I would rather stay single.

You forgot the most important part about finding a partner: find someone who is a Christian.
A Christian is someone who actually knows what love and commitment is, because it is the very thing that Jesus showed them. Creating a bucket list of criteria for a partner is a surefire way to have an unhappy marriage. But unlike us who create transactional relationships, God loves us even when we didn't deserve it, because love itself is something you cannot earn. It must be freely given expecting nothing in return. The only conditional aspects to marriage are sex and children. If someone cannot fulfil those things for you then you are better off staying friends.
Paul said marriage would be a headache for good reason. No matter who you marry, they are never going to be good enough for you. We are all imperfect and have many flaws. And God gives us the gift of marriage to teach us what it's like to love someone despite their flaws.

Allan, I appreciated this video. I am divorced now for over 2 years. My wife left to fulfill what she said she missed in her 20s. We had been married for 24 years. She surprised me with divorce papers over Father's Day weekend in 2020. We have 6 kids together and they were devastated. Upon my divorce, my church family ignored me and stopped all communications with me. I struggle daily as I would like to find a partner again, but I feel like I am sinning if I date and marry another woman.

The gift of singleness is completely misunderstood. If you are single, that is your current gifting. If you are married, that is your current gifting. We need to quit putting this idea on people that they are gifted to be single the rest of their lives.

I have been single for twenty years as a virgin. I am thirty-eight years old. I have prayed to God for a wife, and someone has prophesied a bridal engagement to me, but the prophesy was only in part and didn't name any names or exact dates, or any other details, except for her approach with an instruction that I embrace her. In light of this, I thought of having a family appointed match-maker (we don't have one currently) set me up with someone, but I didn't want to make Abraham's mistake of trying to do things my own way when God has already appointed someone: so I'm pretty much left in limbo with this as a topic for discussion - but no sex so far. On the plus side, the prophesy has done wonders to increase my confidence.

A lot of people are in this situation. And the church has never been good about being honest about this. This is not new. Most people didn’t wait for marriage in the past either. The only difference is they rushed to marry not long after out of fear. Now, people don’t have that same fear so they have the sex without the rushing to the altar.

Meanwhile, while we wait, don't be afraid to be the one who goes out to FIND a Godly partner! Why? Because if we are all waiting, then who is doing the finding? 🤔

Getting arrived in a court house? If your asking if it glorifies God the answer is yes you don't have to be in a church or a certain place because God is always with us so if you go to the court house and have a few friends or family to witness and get married God is still with you he cares about you and your spouse and that your marriage is dedicated to him and you glorify him in it. The marriage takes 2 thing is a lie it takes 3. But yes I'd say the venue isn't an issue as long as you to love each other and God and glorify him ❤️ God Bless you

As a long time married man let me tell you that you are commanded by God himself to stay that way, I don't even know if Christian Churches should be remarrying people at all yet preachers seem to have no problem with it, as the shepherd I believe that this should be taught more especially when young (or like in your case not as young) people are getting married for the first time they need to be informed about God's commandment, I was informed before I got married and we went through a fairly long premarital counseling and I was surprised that not one word was spoken about staying married outside of the ceremony but Christians need to know while the church continues to be silent on the matter, now that former minister resigned and stopped preaching, then he started dating another woman, then he divorced his wife and gave up the rights to his disabled daughter and completely gave up on Christianity and the church leadership remains silent come on guys this is important let's make certain that we understand that staying with the woman of our youth is important.
