Richie Kotzen is one of the best 'complete' musicians to this day. Ever since I heard the album 'Mother Heads Family Reunion' I knew he was more than just a shred guitar player..The man's vocals and compositions just keeps getting better and better!
I'm a huge Kotzen fan. Thanks for this! He is still the shit & remains one of the most insanely talented & skilled individuals on the planet. Criminally underrated vocalist, as well. The guy plays everything from Motown to metal & literally everything that could be in between ...or beyond. Mind-boggingly brilliant.
this reminds me of Badlands Voodoo highway kotzen is like Prince in this Mother Head , well if Prince was a Range singer and could shred wide interval lines ...lol Kotzen is really an unsung visionary
Guy's Absolutely brilliant and Amazing. Ritchie Kotzen has Incredible Technique, chops, feeling and Emotion in his playing. Excellent, Thank you for posting this very early Interview of him, Showcasing his Talents and Abilities as a Musician. Cheers Mick. 🙏🏼🇬🇧🆒️🎸🎸🎸🧚♀️
I had no idea that RK was influenced by Mahavishnu Orchestra that so listened to when younger playing guitar. Sky & The Family Stone had a great groove!

He's damn good, but it would have been even better if he'd had a real band with a yin/yang partner (Plant /page, Roth/EVH, Jagger/Richards, etc). It's like there is something missing.
Richie's a treat to watch talking about his art, but the interviewer seems to know nothing about music - at least he hasn't worked on Richie's career - and I wonder if he's really fluent at English because he often seems to be at a loss following Richie's flow...
Why are you even here when you obviously have absolutely 💯 nothing legit to say? His mom is Italian Catholic like me. If Mom is Jewish then kids are; if not then not considered Jewish. I grew up with both.
And besides what freaking difference does it make to you? Or his amazing ability to play like a virtuoso? I see either jealousy or a person who seeks vengeance for some reason. Fans do not post derogatory comments like yours.
Richie is a natural born talent, he stayed true to his music and passion.

Kotzen in Poison's album was Brutal!
Richie's voice sounds young. Love Wave of Emotion album.

My god he is dreamy, even with that awful hair 😂 ❤

His outfit, and those goggles around his neck, are ridiculous! His stylist should find a new line of work.
You make it sound like it this interview was filmed last week. It was 30 years ago!
Not sure if having a stylist was the thing at this time.
A jew in Japan...... "Been real busy"
