Am I the only one who thinks that Nuno's short turns on Vai's guitar were some of the best chops in the song and best FOR the song?
A year late, but Nuno is one of the top five best 'rock' guitarist in the world! Via is stellar, but I consider him more of a jazz ( albeit with a rock influence) player.

As a bass player....I always hate that moment when everybody else on stage starts looking at you to do something impressive on bass when they have already stolen the show. It's like, "Seriously? I'm supposed to top that? I'm not Billy Sheehan for Christ's sake!"
Stu is a credit to the bass by keeping a nice grove going..and not succumbing to "guitar on bass " BS

Tom is a solid guitarist, and a very creative musician. However, the other 3 are not guitarists you want to share the stage with. Those guys know the fret board like their own heart beat.

I think Toms creativity is the reason he fit in so well. This was truly a concert of greats. Its only a shame they couldn't fit a few more.
Tom Morello is a musician first and a guitarist second. He once described his role in Rage as "the DJ". The others here are great and technically accomplished guitarists in addition to being great musicians.

Just brilliant tom morrello! He can play as fast and bad ass as those dudes, but he does something original, percussive and even sends the band into that dimension, as they all get inspired and start searching for ambient noises! Well done tom.... Awesome.

For me he sounds pathetic and completely out of context at the start. He don't need to do strange noises all the time to show how original he is. He sounds much better when play conventional patters on this stituation, but then ruins everything putting a political act to call atention more than your sound.

In a pretty short time, you can se Tom Morello playing something like a solo, because in the most of the time, he just make noises with his guitar, but it's okay, it his style, even that I can't consider that, a solo. On the other hand, Steve Vai and Richie Kotzen, yes, those guys were playing a real solo.

Always nice to see great Guitarists jam. I have a problem with the competative nature of it though....Who cares who is the "best"? You can bet your ass they don't!! It's subjective....Main thing is they did it for fun and looked like they enjoyed doing it. They entertained the crowd and that's a job well done in my book.

I'm a huge Vai fan but Tom did some different fresh shit that was more interesting in my opinion. I came to watch some shredding and Tom said "nope here's some fun shit to choke on for a minute".....LOVE IT!

Everything funny, funky and great... Big ego show but also a lot of musical ideas, and very funny to see this middleage men having that amount of fun on stage...
But to me Tom Morello has done what he was called for: bringing his different style in for adding another spice to that already great recipe... And to me he just nailed it f#&+ing right!!!

I was almost afraid that Nuno would be a waste here, but I loved seeing him and Vai share a guitar. And to all the Morello hate, he more than shows here that he deserves a place with the best of the guitar players. His technical ability is often overshadowed by his reliance on effects, but what he does, he does well

Toms always been a political activist and you don't have to agree (I don't) but, nonetheless, hes a talented man; as are the rest of these fine gentleman who put on this free show at Lucky Strike. I'm very fortunate to have been there. Its a shame that Stu Hamm isn't more recognized by the mainstream public than he is. Thanks for making my first trip to Hollywood a memorable one!!!!
3 years later and I'll add that I owe Tom an apology. I'm still not on the same page but I can, truly, say that I disagree with Tom much less now. Damn good time this concert was!
