Check before you buy 27" QHD monitors. Your editing software may display tiny text labels that are difficult to read. I have one, and I am mostly running it in HD resolution. I think for UI display, 24" HD resolution is better. To display the video image, you can get any monitor that can display pixel to pixel resolution, based on your video resolution.

GREAT list! Asus has definitely upped their game from their early days, thats for sure. For me, I wanted to go big, so I went with a 32" 1440 LG. (LG 32QN600-B) Basically the same specs as the one you listed, but has a 75hz refresh rate as well as free sync, and can be had for $400. What are your thoughts on calibrating the screen people have (ie MacBook or iMac monitor) and coloring on that? My thought is, with most consumers watching their stuff on mobile devices, alot of which are apple products, their monitors are fairly good (if calibrated), and would totally be a reasonable screen to color on, since it is the same tech that a vast majority of users will be viewing their products on. It's the same idea as to why most music producers check their mix on consumer products (AirPods, phone speakers, car stereos, etc), since that is what most will listen on.

Wow 😮 I was literally just thinking about getting an ASUS pro art. I wasn't too sure at first because of some bad reviews, but I trust your advice man! I just got a PC built and now I need a color accurate monitor.

@@marcuskif amazing! Still going strong. I got a Asus Color Art monitor and it’s very accurate and bright. Only flaw is that the monitor has terrible speakers.

I am just curious and maybe people can explain why doesn't anyone mention the MSI brand anymore hardly? Are they not good anymore or what? I have one that is over 4 years old and doing great! I just need a new monitor. Been looking at the G273CQ just cause for $179 its specs are as good as some that are over 600 even 800. So, can someone explain why MSI isn't mentioned hardly anymore?

Matt, I always enjoy your content. I'm a sub! Question: doing primarily video-editing. Do I NEED a 4k monitor? Thanks!

So I hear you on the Gigabyte monitor. I do believe the pro version of this monitor is one of the best on the market right now. But doesn't the gigabyte monitor and it's pro variant rendition need to be calibrated for the best color accuracy and delta e values? Don't Asus monitors come calibrated from the factory at the accuracy quoted in the spec sheet? Also, aren't the differences between panel to panel in a gaming monitor are much less regulated to strict standards? Aren't the quality of Asus panels much more strictly regulated regarding uniformity and backlight bleed?
I am pretty much between the pro model of this monitor and a proart monitor with 144hz refresh rate. But bc of the questions above I am leaning more towards a proart monitor for essentially reasons regarding quality control and calman verification.
Let me know if I'm wrong or your thoughts in general.

ASUS ProArt 32" 4K Ultra HD 60Hz 5ms GTG IPS LED Monitor (PA329CV), I just bought this monitor, and it looks great. I want to know your opinion about it. Although I mostly use it for photos and video editing.

    Hey Matt,
Can I have your opinion on the Samsung LS24F350FHUXEN? I have this monitor currently, and considering upgrading, but I'm not sure if the color accuracy would benefit from an upgrade, because it already covers 72% of the NTSC gamut, which should correspond to 99,9% sRGB?
Also, do you really need to own a color calibration device? I mean, you could just have it calibrated for about 20-30 euros, and be done with it? Or am I missing something?
Thank you for your answer, great video btw!
