I've got a great mind for telling the story, and for knowing where to cut and piece footage together, but I have never learned video editing using final cut, or anything like it, so I need some help. Your course looks great. I do not have a great video camera at this time, but I can use my iPhone 16 to learn. Then I'll buy a decent camera that I can shoot 3D pics with. I am going to use my late 2013 apple desktop PC for an external monitor. I am going to buy a MacBook Pro M2 tip 16 inch screen 16GB Unified RAM, SSD 512 GB. I am delighted that I have found you and I look forward to mentoring with you in the near future. Still saving my bucks and with help from a friend, and your instruction, I've got this. I'll use your link above soon.
to all small youtubers - we got this just keep going, be consistent and you will get those 1,000 subs and 4,000 watch hours. Remember that should not be your goal, that should only be your first checkpoint. After that the fun starts. 🚀
I used to be mac for years. Just can’t anymore. I def switched over the PC and also built my cpu. It’s faster than any mac can offer at a fraction of the price. And best thing is, if something breaks I can just replace that part AND install it myself. Im just at a point where I need to have more control with cpu settings, customization, and keep the cost low to do the work I need. The OS is just a pass-thru for my intention of using cpu software to do what I need. It also helps to be fluid and flexible with using many programs. That keeps you nimble in the market.
I'm at 1:14 min of this video and loved everything so far, especially with what he said about "If you love PC or Mac, stay with that....", his introduction, presentation, his editing, and audio...perfect!! I'll be your student for sure. Thank you!!!
This is beside the point but, WOW! Hole ee Cow the Mac book pro was not $ cheap. I do believe it will be the right choice for me though. It’s an investment🤙🏼💪🏻
I just wanted to tell you that your "Content Creator" 14 day course is the BEST bang for the buck. I've purchased TONS of classes, and courses. Your style is quick, concise and what a great price. I appreciate that you get right to the point in your videos and don't blabber on like so many people do. Thank you for your continued great content.
@@MrPaulXavierHow do I find out reliable used Apple laptops in Houston or even any where else? Any suggestions or names of any store whether local or out of state? Thanks
Have already purchased 3 of your courses and plan on buying more. The value you provide has been immensely helpful for someone who is a complete beginner in all of this. Thank you 🙏🏻
Honestly this is one of the best channels I've found for entry-level creative tech advice. A lot of these principles get transferred over to graphic design, etc. I currently have an ancient build that I'm trying to upgrade, and being out of the loop for so long as it's consequences. I cannot tell you how often I've come back to this video and your channel to check that I'm doing things right. Your videos are so good!
not all heroes wear capes. im grateful for stumbling into this video because i have literally no clue what the tech bros are talking about with all that jargon
I had to chuckle when you mentioned staying with the system you're most used to. I recently tried a Studio Max after nothing but PCs since the 90s and I just don't like the Mac OS. My custom-built PCs have always lasted over 5 years with few or no issues. It was upgrade time and the Studio was only $1500 at Costco so I figured why not give it a try. Already got my custom PC on order. I go custom at a local shop so I know each component is quality and I can see it working before it leaves the store. Win 10 Pro.
Two major issues with new Macs: The new Macs are basically disposable units. The only thing you can upgrade is disk and USB peripherals like mice and card readers. They can only be repaired by the Apple Store, $$$$$. With the new Macs you are stuck with the CPU and RAM you initially purchased. So buy more memory. You are correct about getting 512GB of onboard SSD. It doubles the disk performance because it uses two 256GB SSDs with two disk controllers attached to the CPU. Upgrading beyond this is better with an external USB 3.2 SSD. Your comment about system on a chip integration memory is mistaken. System integration does not reduce memory requirements. If you are running memory intensive programs like a video editor it will require similar amounts of memory on a Mac or PC. Be aware newer versions of programs always require more memory so buy as much memory as you can afford since you can't upgrade it later.
SOCs suffer from one big problem. If your RAM burns out, you have to replace the entire CPU, GPU and RAM, which is expensive. With independent modules for CPU, GPU and RAM, you only have to replace the module that went bad. SOCs were popular for a while, decades ago, but fell out of favor because of the above problem. Overall, I enjoyed this video. Updated my overview of the processor and gpu specs.
Just the info I needed. I really appreciate your concise, clear communication style, Anthony. I'm taking your 14 Day Filmmaker course with my 14 year old niece. We're both loving it. We're also doing the DSLR Shooter course about our camera -a G85. Between the two, we're learning so much -and looking forward to shooting a project together when we're done. It has been really special to learn and practice with my niece. Thank you!
Terrible advice, dollar for dollar PC gaming machine willtotally smoke a Mac when it comes to anything above basic editing . The only thing the Mac do extremely well on the low end, is if you use a certain type of video, it has built-in chips that make it run and seem quicker than it is. Also Anyone who works with video with under 2 GB of SSD would be ridiculously hard in the long run. You'll notice the author is using super high-end Apple systems. He doesn't tell you how ridiculous it would be to work with a 512 drive, and 16 GB or below. Try using fusion, or color grading anything besides basic editing with this cheap Mac. With the basic Mac you can cut and edit anything simple, however, you don't need those programs for that, you can just go with luma fusion on a tablet. You can see it all over these 256 8 GB Mac for sale. They become useless unless you attach hard drives to them, now you've lost all your portability, and you might as well just bought the PC in the first place. Go ahead and look at the prices of older model PC gaming machines in a 1 100 range, and compare that to a comparable Mac. The difference would be night and day, on anything except for basic editing. And if you're going to do basic adding just do it off your tablet don't worry your phone you don't need a big old computer for that.. Plus they'll get a gaming machine to boot.
I’m using a 2017 macbook pro and let me tell you, on paper it does look a but outdated compared to pc’s today but it’s still running and going really strong. Of course, I’m also looking for an upgrade, which will also be a mac. They’re pricey but they’re worth it. Also just subbed!!
Absolutely great video. Very fair and solid overview. I am a Macbook pro user but I'm ecstatic we bought a new Lenovo gaming desktop because it is much more cost effective than buying a new Mac laptop. Apple Soc is not upgradeable but our pc can make the leap from 16 gb to 128 gb ram easily. And many components can be upgraded and are user accessible. My next personal computer may well be a Mac again but I am happy we have a pc workstation here with gaming and massive media production capability.
We got a mid-range Lenovo Tower 5i series with a Core i7 13th Gen CPU, mid-range graphics card (RTX 3060) and16 GB RAM (wuth intention to upgrade GPU and RAM in next 5 years)@@joycebrett8364
Finally the video that breaks it down on what to look for . I’m literally having to save video to watch later and take notes just bc it’s a lot of valuable info. This is what you need when making big expensive purchases . I went to Apple Store and they didn’t know what to recommend for what I needed
I am a total beginner and starting from level zero, your videos helped me alot , including this one, every question I had on my mind, the answer is always on you channel . Thanks for sharing all this information and knowledge . some day when I become a good editor then I will share my work with you so that you can help me with mistakes that I dont realise. 😊

3:00 brother i gotta say, ive been cycling through a lot of these vids and youre the only prioritizing education not monetization. If nothing else youve taught me what i need to consider for laptops and made me a smarter consumer for it. Legitimately, thanks finding this vid feels like finding a 12 karat diamond in a new Delhi sewer.
as a mac fan, I am not proud to say it is not future-proof unless you invest on a high-end. On the other hand, a PC is modular, so you can easily upgrade it over time.
I just ordered your 14 day course and can’t wait to get into it! This video is absolutely awesome, I took notes and have a much better understanding now! Thanks so much!!!
Very informative and clear, thanks. I would add one thing that I found in a few months of intensive research before buying a computer myself: the 11th, 12th, and 13th gen Intel desktop and (to a somewhat lesser extent) laptop CPU's have hardware acceleration for video editing built into their integrated GPU's. This consists of media encoders and decoders that are very effective in sorting out computer-slowing 4K footage created with later-model mirrorless cameras, recorded in h.265 & 10 bit 4.2.2. Just be sure to get Intel CPU's that do NOT have an "F" after the name--eg i9-13900F--which doesn't have the integrated graphics and media encoders. With their integrated graphics Intel has a leg up on Ryzen in this respect. Timeline performance and general editing performance is much better. And comparable (tho perhaps not quite as good) as computers with the Apple M2 CPU/GPU's. The Intel integrated graphics works well in conjunction with discrete graphics cards, which are also recommended, in order to get comparable video editing performance to the latest Apple computers.
Totally! And also it depends on what editing suite you prone. Adobe is a fair bit more efficient with CUDA acceleration vs open gl from non nvidia gpus. Especially when dealing with a lot of assets in your timeline, whether psd files, after effects elements and other render heavy things. Chances are most people use a combination beyond just a video editing suite and based on that echo system, you may benefit a lot from more cpu cores, if a pc laptop making sure it's plugged in so the gpu isn't throttling due to insufficient wattage etc.

@@Joedisney I've been selling and servicing computers since before the internet existed in conjunction with real estate related work. What i fix the most is Macs. Not even close. I can't vouch for them in terms of reliability from my personal anecdotal experience. That doesn't make it enough of a sample size to pass judgement on industry wide averages. That being said, there's no denying that the M1 and M2 chips are highly effective with built in encoder/decoder (media engine) for both h264, hevc and ProRes formats. It's a HUGE DEAL for anyone that has suffered through really annoying timeline scrubbing on a PC in adobe premiere. Puget systems has the most in depth benchmarks on this and it's undeniable that for the average editor it's a game changer. So much so that intel had to do the same for content creators with their latest iterations. I won't even mention how irrelevant Radeon GPUs are in adobe suite apps, the edge is staggeringly on the CUDA side (nvidia). That being said, anyone doing more than just basic "youtubing" won't use entry level stuff anyway. A complex timeline with after effects assets becomes a nightmare on anything low end. You'd have a point there. Personally I just don't get people using a laptop for content creation unless they absolutely need the portability (or a machine that does both things). Most inevitably end up plugging external monitors, NAS, SSDs, keyboard/mouse etc. I edit on a threadripper machine but I know plenty of other real estate photographers/videographers that work on macbook pros with external redundancy cause you just can't trust your primary storage with mission critical work and regardless of pc or mac you'd have NAS and/or cloud for your assets anyway. Onboard storage is nowhere near as important beyond just basic content creation. I don't get why people defend one side or the other like they're paid to do so, there's a tool for every job. Some people do incredible video work on an iphone and others like MKBHD do everything on RED 8k cameras that require some really high end stuff to work with. For my 2 cents, I game on occasion and MAC is not an option at all. For those that exclusively use Final Cut they have to use Apple products. For those that use davinci or adobe apps, either work. The M1 and M2 opened up a whole new world for those that want the synergy of interconnectivity with their other apple devices (phone or tablet). I'm an android user and rely heavily on google apps for my day to day and i'm better served by the PC side of the ledger but there's arguments for both sides and it's really a case by case thing. No statement applies to all. Pugetsystems extensive coverage and benchmarks in all major content creation programs on all silicon is pretty clear on that.
@@RMRealEstateProductions I have about 20 years on you, I have every certification and MCSE A+ Plus etc. I've also has a master's in computer science. I WAS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO WHEN THERE WAS ONLY 500 WEBSITES IN THE WORLD.. I'm just going to say it right out, if you understand what you say you do, then you would know that you can't swap files with a small drive and these Apple slow down, next to nothing OVER TIME. UNLESS YOU PUT AT LEAST 32 GB OF RAM IN THEM. Apples for apples (pardon the pub)you cannot even come close to comparing price point from an apple to a last year model PC gaming machine (laptop). I'm not speaking about integrated graphics, I'm talking about a game machine such as the $700 3070 RTX. You'd have to spend over 3,000 to get the same speed from an apple. The only advantage of the Apple it would run at a lower power, if that was necessary. I'm notout here to argue with Apple fan boys, fact is Apple is outrageously priced. I think they're fantastic computers, but they are extremely overpriced compared to a a gaming PC if you want to get work done for a good price. I have a Mac mini M2, with 512 memory and 512 SSD, and I have an old laptop with a 2070 and an i 7. When I work with fusion, the apple just bogs down, the 2070, its not the quickest but it is capable of getting the work done. . Yes if you do simple editing you can get away with the Apple no problem, but why not just buy an iPad and put DaVinci resolve on it, or use even better yet LumaFusion. Apples just not a professional tool until you get into the 3500 on up price point. This is why you see all these Apple fanboys are spending over 3,500 on their Apple machines. Again, I like Apple, however, it's a consumption device atanything lower than $3,500 price point. This is why you see a bunch of low and apples for sale; you don't see the 3,500 on up Apple's for sale. They're great computers, they are just priced at a ridiculous amount of money. This is why businesses use PCs, they're not trying to get the latest and greatest they are trying to get work done and a good price point. I promise you you will see most business out there buying Apple computers when they are at a better price point per performance than a PC. I'm not here to argue , I just seen a lot of the comments of people who are trying to buy computers for their children, and I hate to see them making a mistake.. I wish you luck, I enjoy your video it's great quality. I just hate to see people getting screwed over because of Apple's great marketing machine. FYI, one of my good friends is an Apple executive and he'll tell you the exact same thing I just wrote here.
Very clear and linear. I especially appreciated the quantitative context. A further argument for using a laptop in a desktop environment is that you won't need a UPS. A sudden power outage can lose you an hour's hard work on your big iron. Laptops run primarily off of battery power. When you mention Xeon processors, you should also advise that these devices incur additional overhead. They may require ECC RAM and a professional version of Windows. This can obliterate the cost savings of building your own or buying bare metal.
xeon processors shouldn't be in a conversation about video editing, because last i looked, they don't have intel quicksync capability and therefore don't support 4:2:2 10-bit h.265 decoding on the editing timeline, which is extremely important: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Quick_Sync_Video
Thank you SOOOO much for clarifying. I just dusted off my 2015 MBP, and it took 6 hours yesterday to upload a 4K, 1 min 33 second video that then went to TH-cam. Ugh…took all day and now I’m shopping.
If you go the Intel route, make sure you buy the Core CPU in a generation that supports HEVC (4k) and is also supported by the software you are editing with. (ie: Adobe Elements 2023 supports a 7th generation Intel CPU or newer). For best value, custom build PC is the best option. Best Buy sells a MacBook M2 Pro 16GB 1TB SSD for about $2700. In comparison, I built a custom Intel Core i9-13900K 64GB RAM, and several NvME SSD's and a RTX 3060ti with 2 - 28in 4k monitors for just around the same price. It's overkill for 4k editing in 2023 but does give you some future growth when cameras and applications get more hungry. I would agree though if you go laptop, go Mac.
Also, although I work on a custom built windows pc and prefer it (because i game on occasion and it's paramount that i be able to upgrade my stuff on a semi regular basis so laptop is not viable for me and i don't edit on the go anyway) if MOBILITY is not a thing for you; you can get a lot more for your money with a Mac mini (if you prefer final cut pro for example you gotta go Mac, i prefer the adobe suite). For $1300 you get a macbook air m2 13" with 512gb , 8gb. If you don't look beyond that you miss the fact that a Mac mini with the m2 pro chip, with double the memory and more importantly the cpu has more cpu and gpu cores for faster workflow is a bit cheaper. For not much more money you can add a monitor/keyboard/mouse (which most people would add ANYWAY cause it's so dreadful to edit a complicated timeline on a 13" screen). I wish the video covered rendering times because that is HUGE in my view. And also the variable that if you game, a gaming desktop or laptop also does great for content creation since adobe's programs are cuda optimized (assuming you go nvidia rtx vs amd equivalent which is superior for content creation), mixed with an amd cpu vs intel since it's also the better option for content creation right now at most price points.

Thanks bro for this knowledge. I’ve been editing with an iPad Pro since I began editing. I use Lumafusion but I’ve reached a point whereas an iPad just doesn’t cut it with editing long 4k videos. So it’s time I upgrade and since I love apple I’m thinking MacBook is the way to go.👍🏻
I am a longtime PC user and I bought this winter a 4TB MacBook Pro M2 Max with 64GB of RAM. I am very happy with my purchase even if it cost me an arm and a leg mainly because of the 4TB upgrade. I didn't want to edit with a SSD connected to my laptop and needed the space to store all of my active projects. I am glad that I went this route cuz my laptop is 50-90% full all the time.
You rock, Anthony - this video was exactly what I needed when trying to research what computer to get to start video editing and because of you I bought two M1 chip MacBooks :)
Amazing content Anthony, I like watching your videos not because of the topics but because of the high quality visuals and messaging you use (I always learn something new). Congratulations and thank you for the value offered in the 14 days filmmaker course. Keep it up, man!
Before I clicked I was asking myself why I didn't take any computer courses when I went to college in 1980. After your video: I passed computers 101! I'm definitely going to check out your other couses.
This was amazing! Ive been struggling hard to edit and figure everything out lately and this video gave me so much clarification. Would love to buy the course as it sounds very helpful but I got a new mac to go buy.
Dude! Where have you been all this time? I became an instant subscriber to your channel. Excellent delivery on a very extensive and complex topic without feeling overly simplistic. I want to learn video editing in 2024 and will definitely check out your course. Thanks again!
Amazing content and advice Anthony! I'm planning to buy Macbook Air M2, 512 gb ssd, 16 gb ram, 8 core gpu, and my question is this spec enough for ligth video and photo editing? Many thanks in advance 😊 Also, I've enrolled the 14 day filmmaking course, so hopefuly I can advance my amateur experience for making video and editing, after almost 20 years in photo & video production 😅
* 500 GB SSD is not enough for video editing unless you also plan on getting external SSDs as working drives. It's barely enough for your system files. * 2 GB of VRAM is not enough for any budget as the lack of this resource is the most frequent cause of NVIDIA drivers crashing your session. * A PC priced similarly to an Apple computer will be SIGNIFICANTLY superior to Apple. I don't care how finely tuned are Apple products, the latest generation of AMD Ryzen 9 and Intel i7/i9 chips are at least twice as powerful as M2. Enjoy upgrading to 24GB of shared RAM for $400, which would buy 64GB for a PC. Enjoy paying $200 to upgrade to 512GB of SSD storage, which would buy you 2TB of top performance SSD storage for a PC. Why don't you just say that you're a Mac guy who doesn't know anything about computers and send people to another channel?
What would you recommend?? I have an iMac now w ram I added and the editing on adobe is soooooo laggy. I’m ready to sell it and find a new setup. Just don’t know what to switch to?? Budget $800-1300
WOW.... that was a truthful sandwich.. so im now retired and taking up photography and video. I'm not a computer person but need a mobile laptop for editing video and photos that will last 2 or 3 years. Would you be willing to give a recommendation or 2 maybe under 3k if possible? I'm not computer educated so really looking for help
Just found your video after months of looking and i have to say its the most clear and concise video on the subject. I'm a PC guy but I'm looking at the M2 studio base model. Im hoping it will last me a few years
If you're going with Mac, one way o save money is to buy refurbished from Apple. It comes with the same one-year guarantee as retail Macs. That's how I was able to buy a base Mac Studio for $100 less than a similarly equipped Mac mini.
I’ve worked professionally in media since the ‘90’s. Macs are a complete rip off. You get phenomenally more performance and flexibility with pc’s. And it’s way cheaper.
Wow! Wow!! WOW!!! This video was perfect. I will be the first to admit that I know just enough to be dangerous on this video’s topics. This really clued me in and decluttered a lot of my confusion when it comes to this. I am so glad I watched it. It covers ALL of the bases and I loved the opinions and pointers. I ordered the Content Creators package but have yet to start it. If it is HALF as informative as this video, I’m going to be set! Thanx so much and I will keep following and learning.
As a new boy in town (on these compu aspects...)... I made a three mounth hard research to get to buy an ASUS TUF DASH 15 which happened to be almost as good as you mention as the minimum resources needed but... If I had saw this video before, I maybe had made better, with less money and with no time losing... I unfortunately didn't saw any video as clear and easy and concise as this one... Obviously I'll suscribe to your chanel to learn far so faster than expected in other teaching styles available arround... Thanks a lot for your real fast, inteligent and practical teaching and speaking style that also benefit a lot in my english development of fast and accurate speech style (for I am a mexican guy...)... Thanx again...!!!
Thank you for sharing this video. I'm looking to buy a new computer since my old one is not performing well with simple tasks--let alone video editing. I've never had Apple tech before, so getting a Mac for the first time feels a bit daunting, but I do want a great computer to edit my TH-cam videos, and I need one to help with my other hobbies such as writing books and creating digital products. This video was beneficial in deciding what I should get. My favorite color is yellow, so I am looking at the iMac. Again, thank you, and I was happy to subscribe! 😁
Ok Mr Paul, for some reason I trust your opinion. I’d like to think I’m a good judge of character. I watched this video and decided to take my TH-cam channel to the next level. I’m shooting on Go Pros 8,9 and 10 plus an insta 360 and the insta 360 go 2 (the tiny one). A DJI full size gimbaled camera also. These are all 4K and I want to edit in that format also. So tonight I watched your vid, then drove to the Apple Store on a mission for a new MacBook Pro. With the M2 and 500+ for stg. I’ve been doing my whole channel off my IPhone 13 Pro and it’s now full and I can’t edit anything or upload. Bought that IDiskk as a video dump to free up my phone but you gave me the excuse to do it right. Right now lol. My channel is 9 years old and close to 1500 subs but I want to bring my peeps more and much better content. I like to shoot strange angles but will be taking your classes very soon. Thank you very much👍🏻. ⭕️❌
Best video I’ve found as it’s a very confusing decision to make. I want to get into editing and now I know what to look for as a minimum. The question is, as a PC user for years, do I buy an Apple? Thank you 🙏
The thing about M2 is if you don’t use a Mac Monitor you need to buy the right monitor or your processor will be slowed down. A 1080p 24 inch monitor will slow a M2 down I use a 1440 24 inch monitor.
Thank you mate! I’m using a 2015 Mac book pro (used to use my iPhone 14pro), and it’s slow. Like way harder to edit with lag than on the phone. I’m gonna need yo return to the phone until I can snatch one of those faster ram Mac😅
This is seriously a phenomenal video. I learned so much in the last five minutes. Can I have my entire life you’re amazing and I making sure to follow.
Currently a 1400$ rtx laptop performs 12% better than macbook. The only thing you need to care to not put virus in the laptop. Which is impossible for 99% Indians.
Nice one I’ve been using iPad Pro and I’m looking for something I can run full lightroom on I mostly shoot raw photos but the mobile lightroom is restricting what I can do so I was looking at a pc or iMac but after watching this I still like the mobility option so think a MacBook will be on the cards
This is super helpful. Thank you. I was about to buy a Mac Studio M2 Ultra with the best specs, but when I heard that the M4 would be the beast by next year, I was confused about whether I should wait until then. Your advice will be much appreciated. Thank you
How can we tackle the upgrade challenges on Mac? Firstly, Macs are more expensive compared to PCs and other systems. Secondly, there are recurring concerns with the cost of new upgrades, which tends to increase each year. ?
That's definitely a good argument in favor of the more upgradable PC's - Personally I've found that macs hold their value pretty well so reselling them is always an option so you can upgrade to an entirely new machine every 5 or so years.
Thank you so much for this video! It was exactly what I needed right now, as I’m looking at specs and what’s new in iMac and laptops for Final Cut Pro X editing. I’ve been editing on an older iMac with an older version of Final Cut Pro X and it’s time to upgrade! I’ve noticed my computer lagging from the transitions to layers to making my own animations. It just can’t hack it anymore. Your explanation of everything was very clear and easy to understand.
Hello I have a question. I see a 2019 16" Apple MacBook Pro 2.4ghz i9 / 32GB Ram / 1TB SSD / 4GB 5500M on sell for 950$. Condition is good no visible scratches. I would like to ask if it is a fair price?
Great breakdown and explanation. Thanks for sharing...I love the Mac, when have you ever heard of a PC last over 3 years...My maxed out 2013 16" MBP is still kicking but I am ready to upgrade...I am looking for Mid level M1 Mac.
Hey! QQ - Im a PC person. The Lenovo Slim 7 you reccomended has 16 GB of RAM vs the general guidelines you gave of 32GB of RAM. I found a good used computer (Lenovo Legion 5) with the same specs you listed as the lenovo slim 7. I just want to confirm the 16GB of RAM works just fine. I will be doing video editing for social media, so short videos (5 min max, usually 30sec - 2 min) but with several layers of edits via Adobe Premiere.
I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how the heck you got that second monitor (TV) to play your video preview while editing on your first screen that's so sick 0:19

Hi, I'm entry level and in the market for a new laptop. Great video, thanks! Are refurbished Dell laptops worth it?
I'll sign up for your course right after I buy my new PC, which should be fairly soon.

Building is always the best option but most people don’t want to learn how.
Great Video. Finally somebody who explains what to look for and why and not just throwing around opinions. This is _so_ helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm at 1:14 min of this video and loved everything so far, especially with what he said about "If you love PC or Mac, stay with that....", his introduction, presentation, his editing, and audio...perfect!! I'll be your student for sure. Thank you!!!

Win 10 Pro.
I agree 💯
Starting out on a cheap tablet with zero subscribers..thanks for all the awesome info and blessings for everyone not giving up on there dreams.
This is the absolute best refresher course I've seen on the why and what behind getting a video editing laptop
Very good point!
If your ram burns out? Please don’t compare 70’s and 80’s SOC (NOT EVEN CLOSE TRO THE SAME) to Apple SOC. You have no clue what you are talking about.

I've been selling and servicing computers since before the internet existed in conjunction with real estate related work.

I have about 20 years on you, I have every certification and MCSE A+ Plus etc.
I'm not here to argue
, I just seen a lot of the comments of people who are trying to buy computers for their children, and I hate to see them making a mistake..
I wish you luck, I enjoy your video it's great quality.
I just hate to see people getting screwed over because of Apple's great marketing machine. FYI, one of my good friends is an Apple executive and he'll tell you the exact same thing I just wrote here.

Thank you for your reply on this video. You saved me from buying my 14y son a m2 what pc build specs am i looking for to do video editing
I like this! it's not just a Mac fan boy video but a more nuanced discussion about parts quality.

More than enough
I bought Macbook air m1 chip 16/1TB nd I can tell u I don't regret it
* 500 GB SSD is not enough for video editing unless you also plan on getting external SSDs as working drives.
Just found your video after months of looking and i have to say its the most clear and concise video on the subject. I'm a PC guy but I'm looking at the M2 studio base model. Im hoping it will last me a few years
Glad it helped!
FYI, everything is less than a trip to the grocery store these days 😅
Finally, a video that explains everything to people who don't know about PCs

If you're going with Mac, one way o save money is to buy refurbished from Apple. It comes with the same one-year guarantee as retail Macs. That's how I was able to buy a base Mac Studio for $100 less than a similarly equipped Mac mini.
I’ve worked professionally in media since the ‘90’s. Macs are a complete rip off. You get phenomenally more performance and flexibility with pc’s. And it’s way cheaper.
Thanks! This helps a lot in the search for a new laptop!
Glad I could help!
GREAT INFO! Finally upgrading my 2015 8GB MacBook Pro. My editing even @ 1080 is at a stand still.
Great to hear!
Subscribed, and bought the 14 day course. Hopefully within 2 months I am creating content using the tools and information I will learn.
Welcome aboard!
Wow! Wow!!
Glad you liked it!
Adobe has always optimized Apple products over PC for the same specs. PC are generally higher performing once you are 2.5K or more.
Have watched several videos on this and yours is blowing them out of the water. The explanation, the editing....Really good. Thank you :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
30 secs in and I am subbed! This guy clearly ain’t playin around
Hahaha thank you!

GAHHHHH, I didnt want a Mac but you have explained this better than any video Ive watched. I guess Ill eventually get used to it.
Haha I'm converting you over to the dark side!
Love it! You got this 💪🏻
Thank you. I’m new in video editing. And this was very helpful and educational.
Glad it was helpful!
Do you think it’s worth spending the extra on a brand new MacBook or do you think refurbished ones will do
If the specs are still in line with what we talk about in this video, buying used is a really solid decision!
Best video I’ve found as it’s a very confusing decision to make. I want to get into editing and now I know what to look for as a minimum. The question is, as a PC user for years, do I buy an Apple?
Thank you 🙏
You must not have listen to all of his advice, if you are on pc and like it, stay with pc.
The thing about M2 is if you don’t use a Mac Monitor you need to buy the right monitor or your processor will be slowed down. A 1080p 24 inch monitor will slow a M2 down I use a 1440 24 inch monitor.
I’m having the same experience. Apple won’t verify it’s an issue with my 4k monitors.
@@AngeliqueStidhum I think the Apple monitors are 5 k. So it would have to rescale.

I bought the monitor this guy recommended because I wanted to play World of Warcraft on my Mac Studio.
Great video, most helpful I have seen in 2023. Well done!
Glad it helped!
You are a scholar and a gentleman. Much obliged sir.
Thank you :)
price range is actually lovely. you can get a macbook air m1 from 4 years ago for 500 bucks. thats a nutty deal used
Agreed!
What kind of computer do you recommend for video editing, video game playing, and making a video of you playing videogames?
Can you put the link for the lenovo you are referring to? I am trying to make sure I get the exact one. Thanks!
I should have the most updated link if you follow the gear guide link in the description beneath the video!
Hey Paul ! What is a good display for under 1000?
$900 was an absolute steal for an iMac with those specs.
Currently a 1400$ rtx laptop performs 12% better than macbook. The only thing you need to care to not put virus in the laptop. Which is impossible for 99% Indians.
WHICH ALL-IN-1 COMPUTER DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR 4K VIDEO EDITING
Does acceptable conditions of used Macs perform less than the ones with excellent conditions?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Generally speaking used macs that have been treated well will perform great!
Thank you
THIS is the video I’ve been looking for! Thank you for speaking down to us non-techies!
Glad it was helpful!
Glad I could help!
Hello I have a question. I see a 2019 16" Apple MacBook Pro 2.4ghz i9 / 32GB Ram / 1TB SSD / 4GB 5500M on sell for 950$. Condition is good no visible scratches. I would like to ask if it is a fair price?
2019 for 950 is expensive.
Im selling my 2022 with 32gb ram Macbook pro with 1TB SSD for $600
@@nishantky7378I’ll buy it off you if it’s still available
What would you recommend for a professional photographer?
I was trying to get a laptop to edit on the go and stumbled across this video. Very helpful, thank you!
Great breakdown and explanation. Thanks for sharing...I love the Mac, when have you ever heard of a PC last over 3 years...My maxed out 2013 16" MBP is still kicking but I am ready to upgrade...I am looking for Mid level M1 Mac.
Hey! QQ -
Im a PC person.
When it comes to saving money we'll always have to sacrifice something. 16GB is enough to get by but the computer will lag more than one with 32 GB
I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how the heck you got that second monitor (TV) to play your video preview while editing on your first screen that's so sick 0:19
Thank You! My Dell Laptop keeps crashing with my video editing software. So I wanted to get the minimum basics for getting into a decent video editing computer. Your video is a GREAT help. It seems about a year old...are there any notable updates since then?
Thank you. Appreciate the video. Wouldve been nice if you separated the Mac Part from the PC part. Nevertheless all smooth and thank you again🤞
