I love the statistic that 50% of women 40-45 got pregnant within a year! With all the doom and gloom suggesting that women basically have no chance over 40, this is refreshing.
Sorry to go back to doom and gloom, but if you consider miscarriage rates and medical abortions due to malformations etc. in pregnancies with eggs of this age, then the numbers aren't so positive any more 😥 IVF with genetic testing before implantation of the embryos might be a better choice for avoiving waste of precious time and lots of heartbreak.
I conceived at 42 (2 months before I turned 43) and it took me 4 months to get pregnant (3 months of trying). The first 3 months I used an app to track ovulation, so I probably wasn't timing it that correctly. The 4th month, I used an ovulation test at home and I got pregnant! My mom had my brother at age 42. I have a very healthy baby boy and had no pregnancy complications at all. I walked the dog the morning I went into labor, haha. Very easy pregnancy. So yeah there is a lot of hope.
Let's not forget about miscarriage too. We conceived at 32 after three cycles and miscarried twice back-to-back. So it actually took us a year to conceive a viable pregnancy.
I appreciate videos like this, my husband and I been trying for 6 months and I started getting worried and become obsessed with getting pregnant. I have yet all your videos learning all I can. So thank you so much
I appreciate you telling people to check on things at 6 months trying. I feel like so many people think a year is normal, and it's actually a lot less common to take so long, especially if you're younger. I'm hitting the 6 month mark, for me, looking at the data is so heartbreaking... being healthy, young, and having extremely regular cycles. I just hate when people make you feel dramatic about that.."It can take a year." I'm only in my mid 20s.
My question always is what are they counting as “conceive with in the first year” ? I had a chemical pregnancy 8 months ago and nothing since but does that still fall under that statistic? Or are they only counting successful pregnancies?
@@lenahanmary322 I wonder if it "resets" the clock. Because even if our cycle looks back to normal, there can still be other aspects of our hormones that are trying to balance out.
@@Nomarcaperabsolutely. I wonder if it’s a “reset” of sorts. My symptoms of miscarriage lasted for two months. I had some very hormonal cycles after that. Now on my 4th cycle post symptoms and I feel mostly normal/things appear to be regulating.

Is there any data on whether someone who has undergone egg freezing more likely to get pregnant than someone trying for a first pregnancy without having done egg freezing?
You should consider it during unexplained infertility and looking for answers, tubal disease on HSG and looking for answers, pain or suspicion for endometriosis and want a diagnosis and treatment if found are a few reasons.
Would be interesting to compare the stats from natural fertilization vs. IUI vs. IVF. Is it better for us timing out women to forgo a year or two of trial and error for a more precise method? I mean, after we've been approved for a second mortgage of course...
You may want to consider contacting RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, which is working hard to create more mandated coverage of fertility across the U.S. They will help let you know of any advocacy opportunities and/or developments.
I am so sorry 🫂It can be embryo issues that we just can’t test for yet but I think about anatomical issues (check uterine cavity), hormonal issues (thyroid, progesterone levels, etc), silent endometriosis or chronic inflammation in the lining. Best wishes for you❤️

When should be stop testing If Get negative again and again ? If you got negative 20 DPO does it mean you Are 100% not pregnat at this cycle? Can you please explain ?
