    Season 1 Episode 8 - (BONUS VIDEO)
    How To Climb A Coconut Tree with NO TOOLS!
    And we are back with another mini episode and this time Shawn heads to the beach to teach us how to climb a coconut tree with no tools and no spikes, just his bare feet and his bare hands.
    The coconut tree is literally the tree of life, and the Hawaiian word for coconut is niu. Loaded with electrolytes and potassium, the coconut is like a natural sports drink and the perfect cure for dehydration.

    Yesterday, I climbed a 15ft tall coconut tree and harvested 21 coconuts.
    This was a new record for tallest tree I’ve climbed and I must say it was an unreal experience….
    I want to climb these 3 20ft tall coconut trees which are loaded but sometimes the height can get to me 😅

      Haha epiiiic! And be sure to grab a few fronds in when you reach the crown. I made a mistake once and grabbed a bottom hanging frond and it broke off. Lucky I fell onto grass and didn’t get seriously injured lol. Keep up the good work!

    Awesome demonstration! I’m afraid of heights, so you won’t catch me doing that any time soon, but I totally appreciate your skills!!

      Thank you! And yeah I still get jitters sometimes when climbing the taller trees, but the more practice the better I feel. Thanks for tuning in!

      Haha yeah if I don’t climb for a long time I definitely feel it in the hips. And hopping in the ocean/river after that is mandatory lol.

    How do you get down?

    • @davnerg8452
      @davnerg8452 ปีที่แล้ว

      Inch your way down, pretty much doing what you did to get up, just in reverse. Or, you can slide down on your taint. That’s my preference but you rip up your shorts/pants much more easily

    What is yhe technique to go down buddy ? Are u fly off 😮?

    • @shawnpila
      @shawnpila  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol kinda like a fire pole but with one hand around the tree and the other in between your belly and the tree so you don’t get scratched. And once you get to a comfortable height you can go back to frog or monkey 🙈

    Free climbers always fall down in the end, so better do this while young. Or start use rope 😊

      Yeah I definitely know my limits and have definitely fallen.. not fun LOL.
