Why doesn’t Ford do this from the factory? What is the advantage of the stock set up? Cost?

Probably cost. Although, I can't see why the base GT oil cooler is the same on a PP1/PP2. Kind of doesn't make sense for those who spend the extra money on performance bits and not get that upgrade.

cool stuff, but how did you took OFF those active grill shutters without the check engine light..? .. i searched for that info everywhere, cant find... do you have a video??!! thank you !!

Everything is held in with body clips or small bolts....the key to removing the shutters is take the motor that opens and closes the shutters off the shroud. Then you reconnect the motor and zip tie it to the crash bar. Make sure you zip tie through the screw holes and not the center where it turns the gear for the shutters. If you bind the shutters gear mechanism it can throw a code. Hope that helps!

Аs far as I know the motor that raises and lowers those shutters will always spin ..till the error code..since I took off shutters nothing will stop it in a certain position (open and close)...
or i am wrong?!?!
i saw this dude on you tube, he took off shutters on his ford f150, he screwed two screws in open and close position...so they stop the motor when needed....cant find him to ask...

@saidtheblueknight oil is going to be warmer than coolant. Warm coolant can still be used to cool the oil, if the oil is warmer than the coolant

It’s air cooled that’s why. The radiator let’s go of heat by use of coolant. This being in front of the radiator makes no difference and allows the oil cooler to grab air to cool the oil.
