My thoughts exactly. He was a hypocrite in the Prequels, preaching peach but practicing war. This is why the Jedi Order fell, and this is why Luke is so disillusioned in The Last Jedi. The Legacy of the old Jedi Order was failure.
+AciDic BliTzz They're riding the hype train for all the people searching for Star Wars info who may not already be subscribed. They've done the same thing with most of the last several major movie releases. It's a barnacle tactic.
Why would you want Luke to turn evil?! It makes sense character arc wise, but ruins a perfectly good hero. The ending that we got is the one that he and everyone deserved.
Bema Osei-Kwabena the films ruined his character anyway might as well have done it in a cooler way, mark hamil said himself he thought they made every wrong choice when making his story arc .
@@sauldogeman2816 Because at this point he WASN'T a hero. The movie would've been tremendously better if he had become a Sith. The only way it would've worked as him as a hero is if they had followed the events of the Yuuz'an Vong war. I'm sorry, but the Empire coming back stronger than after the Battle of Endor is utter nonsense.
+William Washburn I think if Luke had turned to the Dark Side, he wouldn't have spent the last 10+ years hiding from everyone; including The First Order. I personally think Luke doesn't believe himself worthy of being called a Jedi Master after Ben turned to the Dark Side, and thinks it's too dangerous to allow himself to train and possibly fail other students. So in shame and disgust he goes into exile.
I don't laugh at it because though the main point of the theory ended up being wrong, there is still a lot of valid information that explains many of Luke's actions in Abram's sequel trilogy. =]
Yeah, someone who recently saw the original trilogy for the first time pretty much said to me that Luke seemed to lean to the dark side. And she asked me if Luke would eventually turn. ^^ To be honest it makes more sense than what Luke does in the new canon.
+Charles Miller He did, if you slow down the fast-forwarded intro text, part of it says "Also, NO he is NOT a Sith Lord! Stop it with your silly theorizing! That is our job!"

Luke's story in this is kept in a "mystery box", that's what JJ wants, and that's all. This specific theory that Luke turned to the Dark Side, I have no doubt JJ and company LOVE and want and enjoy this Internet speculation. But it is "just a theory, an (Internet) Film Theory and too bad ass and controversial for the rather conventional Disney Company and JJ (overrated) Abrams.
"If the secret got out they would lose a ton of money." Yeah because if we all knew what the sequel trilogy would've been like, we wouldn't have wasted money on tickets...
Ian McClain Well I mean, the Jar Jar theory is just so unexpected, this kinda is given how George (or someone, forget who) wanted episode 6 to end with Luke becoming a Sith.
if i may be real for a moment i would take dark side training because its mor badass than the light side but after completeing my training i would indiscriminantly kill light and dark to create my own order and cleanse both sides bc i havent seen a single morrally decent jedi

I'm not sure this is right. A big point for you is that Luke seems to be going the same route Anakin did, the dark side is starting to take control of him. But what is it's not? Remember, Anakin didn't just join the sith from being angry and feeling emotion in general but also because he was taught that it's wrong, almost like something to be ashamed of, that he *must* follow the jedi code but at the same time he sees that same code broken by jedi masters, just look at master Windu he tried to arrest Palpatine based on superficial evidence and then tried to make Anakin kill him. Anakin knew this was wrong, he knew that Palpatine should have been given a fair trial and this was more or less ruining what he saw the jedi as being. The great jedi master Mace Windu was breaking the jedi code and this is why at the end of the movie Anakin says that from his point of view the jedi are evil, they were hypocrites and breaking their only rules while also enforcing them on Anakin. Now look at Luke, he never knew about the jedi code, he was more or less told he shouldn't get angry and stuff(and also wasn't restricted from other things such as love) but not to the degree Anakin was and unlike Anakin, Luke never had the masters he looked up to break the code so he wholly saw the jedi as the good guys. Then we get to the end where Luke uses his anger to defeat Vader in battle and Palpatine seems to think that this means Luke has given himself up to the dark side but he didn't, to Luke he kind of couldn't see how something that simple would completely change someone and make them an evil person, he wasn't corrupted by the power but also didn't see any reason to avoid it like the jedi code tells you to. He was at a middle ground, not truly a jedi as he breaks the code but does not allow himself to be corrupted by the power. If Luke were in similar situations to Anakin in which he saw first hand that the jedi themselves were becoming corrupt perhaps he too would have started to favour the dark side and see them as right as they don't restrict emotion as the jedi do. But Luke never had that huge burden of trying to suppress his emotions, he never saw corruption of the jedi, at the end of the day Luke not properly being trained as a jedi is what saved him, unlike Anakin he has no reason to join the dark side because he has no reason to oppose the jedi, he sees the sith as evil while for Anakin, being close to the jedi and seeing what the jedi order was becoming, it wasn't quite so night and day. So really I don't see Luke being a sith lord at all because why would he? What reason does Luke have to join the sith when he sees them as evil and the jedi as good?
+QuakeGamer632 "bring balance to the force" - balance is the key phrase introduced in the prequel trilogies. The logical play out is that there should one type of force user - balancing the ying and yang that the dichotomy of the light/dark structure presents. Luke's absence is less a question about whether he is light or dark, rather it is has he maintained control over his emotions so as not to be ruled by them. Your point about the jedi order is spot on, there are hints of this internal struggle for the jedi in the prequels. I think Luke's absence is more a promotional element then one of real substance to the movies. Though you need to ask why does each trilogy start on a desert world and the finding of a force hero? If we take the cyclical nature into consideration then perhaps Luke's absence is more akin to Yoda - he failed to do something and therefore hid from his failure - his nephew being a sith is the probable failure.
no. he didnt say to spare palpatine because of the jedi code. he even screams it out, I need him to live. palpatine fully convinced him that the only way to save padme was through some trick that only palpatine knew.
IDK, the fact that this idea has already been planted seems reason enough for Jar Jar Abrams to not include it. No, Luke is just a Grey Jedi, like Qui-Gonn Jinn and Mace Windu. The Grey Jedi have a code as well. "There is no Dark Side, nor a Light Side There is Only the Force I will do what I must to keep the balance The balance is what keeps me together There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish There is passion, Yet peace Serenity, Yet emotion Chaos, Yet order I am the wielder of the flame, the protector of balance I am the holder of the torch, lighting the way I am the keeper of the flame, soldier of balance I am a guardian of balance I am a Gray Jedi." Hmm. Balance to the force? Why does that sound familiar? Something something prequels, something something Anakin Sykwalker, something something destiny. Qui-Gonn used Anakin as the tool of bringing true balance to the force, but Palpatine corrupted Anakin too much. He manipulated his fear of losing his family so much that even Mace Windu, a Grey Jedi, couldn't stop him. Mace Windu is the reason why Grievous was a chunk of spare parts BTW, that's not what his species looks like. He's basically the Kaleesh equivalent to Darth Vader. Nope, I think that the big bad Sith Lord is Mara Jade Skywalker. And Luke is so torn at the thought of killing his wife he allows the Empire to flourish again because of it. Just like his father did in the prequels.
+Remlap1223 See, this is something I can get behind without the silly, stupid absolutism of the Jedi and without the, ah... hm... how do I phrase this? Without the inevitability of George Lucas's Sith always being super evil. I feel like this could work very well.
+sawyer7as the grey jedi were introduced in the knights of the old republic. Revan, in the game, is possibly one of, if not the strongest jedi to ever live. Being a jedi and falling to the darkside during the mandalorian wars he emerged, different. Feeling the views of both the light and dark were 2 sides of the same coin he projected both. Knowing that the evil of the sith shouldn't rule, but the galaxy needed the evil, to keep balance. There can be no good with out evil. No peace without war. The grey jedi strive to keep this balance. But as you say, i don't think it is cannon, but it could be.
Windu was not a gray jedi just because he used bits of the dark side, he used them for good and betterment of his skills and understanding.. And kept it in control...
*slightly better stories. His ability to come up with the plot is excellent. His choice of words used to tell the story could use a bit of work. For reference, pause the video and read the dialogue left in the scrolling teleprompter.
But they did kinda build up the moment as a "yesss we finally found the hero" moment... Wouldnt it be awesome if after that dramatic build up he actually turned out to be evil xD Movie: "Here is your long sought after hero!" Audience: "YAAAYYYY!" Movie: "Psych! xP >_< >=D"
There is no Dark Side, nor a Light Side There is Only the Force I will do what I must to keep the balance The balance is what keeps me together There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish There is passion, Yet peace Serenity, Yet emotion Chaos, Yet order I am the wielder of the flame, the protector of balance I am the holder of the torch, lighting the way I am the keeper of the flame, soldier of balance I am a guardian of balance I am a Gray Jedi

+Angelo Sales Well. This last year his "theories" are based on controversies of the same logic as "Bread is actually made of WATER". They are oftentimes useless or plain stupid. They are just stories he makes up.
On one hand, I can't think of old Luke as anything other than what he is in the extended universe On the other hand, Mark Hamill *kills* it as a villain
You know the sad part is that we may not even find this out for sure in the first movie, they may keep it for a secret twist to keep people thinking even until the 2nd or 3rd movie. I can see it now: "Don't you want to know what happened to Skywalker?" "they told me enough, they told me you killed him!" "No. I am Skywalker." "That's impossible!" "Search your feelings you know it to be true!" "NOOOOOO"
***** Well, rebuilding the Jedi order is what he did in the EU books, he started a Jedi Academy on Yavin IV and the books were about the student's adventures and them growing to be full Jedi. Was a pretty good series.
*Nooooooo!!*. He had a good arc in the original trilogy, bringing him back would just make him more of a known character, the same mistake the prequels made
Marcelo Carneiro no a white saber is when you pure or HEAL a bleeding crystal. meaning that you are strong in the force but not enough to be a Grey jedi.

Lukaszplgrom Usually the republic has tended to populate a small number of "core" planets with there main government/population. Its likely the three planets destroyed were the bulk of the republic.
Faux King Sure they made a huge blow to the republic but I refuse to believe that entire republic was wiped out. They better make the survivors from the other Republic system join the Resistance so that Resistance have more than few troops and X wings and we actually see some ground vehicles as well as Republic ships.
PandaMonium2412 That's what I'm hoping for. Make him a Sith, that's fine, but making him the main villain is so obvious and transparent that I just don't want it happening.
uuh yeah and your point is ?, Luke could still be in the dark side just not with Ren, why would he be with Ren Luke is obviously more powerful with the time given.
+razielimm the film does go at lengths to out right state and imply that like is not on the dark side... and his face looking that way doesnt imply that hes mad/upset/or sad to see rey its more of a world weary and just plain tired look to me as if hes not ready to get out there and train someone yet... and as i said earlier the movie goes to lengths to say he is a jedi not a sith so im in the "hes light side camp" til im proven otherwise in either of the next two movies
Well, I think Luke is more like Qui-Gon, a grey jedi, which don't have one real side, moe like a balance of both, since being a jedi is like being a stone, so a grey jedi has feelings, but is not compleately evil.
+ElZamo92 I completely agree. It's called "the great jedi", an idea from KOTR. A balance of both the light and the dark. Luke wanted to create a new order, perhaps he has learned both sides can be used for good.
+Russell Paul the original jedaii order stressed balance between the light and dark sides of the force. If a jedaii were to fall into to much dark or light they would be sent offworld alone to meditate until they achieved balance again
+Lorentz Khan then there was a split in the order between those who thought the order should only use light or only used dark which formed the sith and jedi
+ElZamo92 cool, then on episode VIII Luke becomes a white wizard like Gandalf, and start kicking asses and taking names with the First Order. Sweet as.
Would be fun, admit it. Though combinig what can be seen of Luke with the input of this Theory episode, probably Luke's rather going to have a dark past (whatever happened between Return and Awakens and if we are truely to ignore everything from EU) he now regrets and ends as a tragic, yet redeemed hero. Just a swift guess. Hope I am wrong.
+essengeebee Yeah. But think of it like this... For all the newcommers for Star Wars that cant think for themself :v thats why the video is here, to help them spoil what shouldnt come as a surprise if it actually turns out like it.
+essengeebee yes, but remember it take some time to create the video and edit it, so probably he was doing it during the time the theory started but now every one know it, but he still uploaded the video since he wanted to help people to understand better the theory.
I feel like Old Luke could be a Gray Jedi in the sequel trilogy. Just look at his choice of clothes throughout the series. In ANH he wears white to symbolize his innocent demeanor and light side warrior, in TESB he wears gray as he struggles with the Jedi code, in RoTJ he wears all black to symbolize his near-turn to the dark side. Only when he turns Vader back to good does a flap on his shirt get undone to show it was white on the inside all along. Now in TFA he wears a dark gray robe with dirty off-white tunic. As if he's straddling the line between light and dark now that his new Jedi order is in tatters and everything that he thought once he'd destroyed is coming back stronger than ever.
I don't actually want to bring this in, but Ahsoka is one of the middleground force users and still canon. Not a Jedi, but not a Sith either. Sorry for not being a huge fan and not sure what you mean with gray Jedi. A Jedi who still studies the Sith ways?
With the release of the new star wars trailer I think this theory still has some plausibility. The end of the jedi right? So is Luke saying that he has been into the dark side or just admitting that a balance is needed instead of the just favoring one side. Random thought...
It is plausible that Luke fell to the dark side only to return to the light. There are canonical instances of Jedi turning to the dark side, and then returning to the light, such as in the new canon book, Dark Disciple. I don't think however that "Balance" can be achieved by the destruction of the Jedi. The Jedi, who wield the "Light Side" of the force are the balance to the Sith (and others) who use the "Dark Side".
+3D3LTAGaming There actually is a group like that in the Star Wars universe called the "Grays" and they're centered around the balance of the force, the balance of light and dark.
A true jedi, finds a perfect balance between the light and dark, between good and evil. Luke managed to find that balance between light and dark in Return of the Jedi. And for that reason, I don't think Luke is evil, and I don't think he'll be evil in The Force Awakens.
@@night-seeker666 I think so, him turning the most evil person in the galaxy good again, then suddenly losing hope for everyone makes no sense. But him taking the same path as anakin is interesting.
Honestly, I think he would go to the Dark Side, but not for evil. As a Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy fan, they've delved into the "use dark powers for good" and "too much darkness can be as harmful as too much light" thing before, so an even more interesting development for Luke is using his anger for good, unleashing the dark powers to stop the empire. Will that happen? Probably not, since it appears Kylo Ren is an ally to the new empire, but Luke has worked in mysterious was before.
+Ruler3995 That was actually done by one of his grandchildren. I can't remember the name but there was a trick he did with the force that used the dark side of the force. His trick involved 'fixing' people in a healing sort of way. As it tampers with life, it uses the dark force as a conduit to actually pull it off. The jedi and sith have always been (in my eyes) the best and worst examples of the good versus bad. Being a Jedi means to emotionally cut youself off from the world to be a pseudo robot that care for life. Sith are full of emotion but for some reason they always go around trying to get more power.
Mariusweeddeath Is that the Expanded Universe? I must confess I haven't read any of it yet, but Shadows of the Empire and the Thrawn Trilogy are on my Christmas list.
I think he's gonna be a Grey Jedi, like everyone will be lead to think he's turned to the Dark Side when, SURPRISE!! He's found the 3rd alternative nobody was expecting, he's found true balance by not siding with either
Well he is quite wrong i wonder if he watched the other movies or just resurch but he fled the scence cause he failed the order but not by betraying it but accidently had someone betray it
+Darth Serpace well your wish has apparently been granted as if Disney couldn't screw things up any worse it does appear that Luke is Evil their going by the books
This theory might have been wrong, but it proves that Luke's confrontation with Ben Solo in his hut during the flashbacks of The Last Jedi was completely in character and Rian Johnson really understands Star Wars. You can't call this theory a good idea and then say there's no way Luke would have drawn his lightsaber on his nephew. Either has has darkness in him still after Episode VI or he doesn't. And it makes so much more thematic sense given all the evidence presented in this video that he did
Take a chill pill everyone! I get it, he was wrong, but that's why it was a theory since it wasn't confirmed as the answer. He never said that he was 100% sure Luke was with the dark side, he was just trying to predict how Episode VII could've shocked us all.
"How often do we see Yoda wrong?" Throughout the entirety Clone Wars and Episodes 1-3. His rigid mindset is his greatest flaw. His idea of the Jedi being an emotionless cult directly led to the rise of Darth Vader

My thoughts exactly. He was a hypocrite in the Prequels, preaching peach but practicing war. This is why the Jedi Order fell, and this is why Luke is so disillusioned in The Last Jedi. The Legacy of the old Jedi Order was failure.

Why would you want Luke to turn evil?! It makes sense character arc wise, but ruins a perfectly good hero. The ending that we got is the one that he and everyone deserved.
Bema Osei-Kwabena I wanted Luke to go to the dark side
Bema Osei-Kwabena the films ruined his character anyway might as well have done it in a cooler way, mark hamil said himself he thought they made every wrong choice when making his story arc .
@@sauldogeman2816 Because at this point he WASN'T a hero. The movie would've been tremendously better if he had become a Sith. The only way it would've worked as him as a hero is if they had followed the events of the Yuuz'an Vong war. I'm sorry, but the Empire coming back stronger than after the Battle of Endor is utter nonsense.
this is so painful to watch after seeing the movie
that twist thing you were talking about matpat, ya he did that to even you. good job.

+William Washburn
I think if Luke had turned to the Dark Side, he wouldn't have spent the last 10+ years hiding from everyone; including The First Order. I personally think Luke doesn't believe himself worthy of being called a Jedi Master after Ben turned to the Dark Side, and thinks it's too dangerous to allow himself to train and possibly fail other students. So in shame and disgust he goes into exile.
+Scuffy P Maybe he did at one time... but we still don't know about now.

+Eros arthur It was no doubt best part of the movie
We laugh at this now, but many people believed this.
It would have been way more interesting, and even the original script for rotj was about Luke becoming the new Vader

+QuakeGamer632 you make a lot of very good points. But the question still stands: why would ol' J.J. try to hide him from us?
SunsetBear Because Luke is the hide and seek champion of the Star Wars universe.
SunsetBear I mean the universe, it's just set in a galaxy far, far away.
Just came back from December 18th, the movie is pretty heavy.

+Marty McFly I KNEW YOU WERE REAL!!! THEY ALL CALLED ME CRAZY... CRAZY FOR NOTHING!!! I WILL MAKE THEM ALL PAY!!!
“Emperor Palpatine’s soul was reborn into a clone”
This sounds very familiar
IDK, the fact that this idea has already been planted seems reason enough for Jar Jar Abrams to not include it.
No, Luke is just a Grey Jedi, like Qui-Gonn Jinn and Mace Windu. The Grey Jedi have a code as well.
"There is no Dark Side, nor a Light Side
There is Only the Force
I will do what I must to keep the balance
The balance is what keeps me together
There is no good without evil, but evil must not be allowed to flourish
There is passion, Yet peace
Serenity, Yet emotion
Chaos, Yet order
I am the wielder of the flame, the protector of balance
I am the holder of the torch, lighting the way
I am the keeper of the flame, soldier of balance
I am a guardian of balance
I am a Gray Jedi."
Hmm.
Luke indeed fits as a gray jedi. So does Starkiller, and he DIED.
no such thing, not cannon, but even before retcon

You know the sad part is that we may not even find this out for sure in the first movie, they may keep it for a secret twist to keep people thinking even until the 2nd or 3rd movie. I can see it now:
"Don't you want to know what happened to Skywalker?"
"they told me enough, they told me you killed him!"
"No. I am Skywalker."
"That's impossible!"
"Search your feelings you know it to be true!"
"NOOOOOO"
+Mr. Person haha, I can totally see that! The reason Hamill isn't in the promos for this movie is that he isn't even in this movie.
+Mr. Person Yup, _IF_ this is true, they will keep it secret, like Palpatine was (to the jedies).
***** Well, rebuilding the Jedi order is what he did in the EU books, he started a Jedi Academy on Yavin IV and the books were about the student's adventures and them growing to be full Jedi. Was a pretty good series.
+Mr. Person Maybe, The Dark figure-like Darth Vader is actually Luke himself trying to mimic his fathers ways!

"Every word you just said in that sentence... is wrong"

Marcelo Carneiro no a white saber is when you pure or HEAL a bleeding crystal. meaning that you are strong in the force but not enough to be a Grey jedi.
also good to pint out is that after both luke and anakin state 'don't underestimate my power' they both get owned.

+Faux King Surley the New republic has more than 6 planets... Probably New Republic in this system got wiped out but what about the other systems?
Lukaszplgrom Usually the republic has tended to populate a small number of "core" planets with there main government/population. Its likely the three planets destroyed were the bulk of the republic.
Faux King Sure they made a huge blow to the republic but I refuse to believe that entire republic was wiped out. They better make the survivors from the other Republic system join the Resistance so that Resistance have more than few troops and X wings and we actually see some ground vehicles as well as Republic ships.
Lukaszplgrom You're right there are likely surviving outposts ect and ships scattered around.
As long as Luke isn't Kylo Ren I'm fine with this.
+Michael Rizzo Kylo Ren is the only guy who Luke could be, unless theres a new emperor who is in charge of Kylo, which is who Luke could be.
PandaMonium2412 That's what I'm hoping for. Make him a Sith, that's fine, but making him the main villain is so obvious and transparent that I just don't want it happening.
Luke isnt Kylo-ren. Ren has black hair according to the Lego company who had early access to movie footage so their sets could be accurate.
and you can see Kylo's long black hair in the trailer, Luke could be the emperor for sure then
Not to mention Kylo Ren has a separate actor
The only reason he wasn't in the trailer, is because he went to get some power converters.

Bullshit.
Jar Jar will take over the universe. It's a more sound theory than "Luke is evil".
Yoshikage Kira キラークイーン
Okay. I just said what matt was saying or the person writing the yellow text :)
Darth Jar Jar kicks ass!
True.
this theory could still be true, luke only appeared for 5 seconds and he didn't look happy to see Rey.
True true
You know that kylo ren is ben solo he even showed his face
uuh yeah and your point is ?, Luke could still be in the dark side just not with Ren, why would he be with Ren Luke is obviously more powerful with the time given.
+razielimm the film does go at lengths to out right state and imply that like is not on the dark side... and his face looking that way doesnt imply that hes mad/upset/or sad to see rey its more of a world weary and just plain tired look to me as if hes not ready to get out there and train someone yet... and as i said earlier the movie goes to lengths to say he is a jedi not a sith so im in the "hes light side camp" til im proven otherwise in either of the next two movies
but thats mostly characters speculating he's on the light side. I feel like the ending is open to interpretation, but lets just wait and see.
Well, I think Luke is more like Qui-Gon, a grey jedi, which don't have one real side, moe like a balance of both, since being a jedi is like being a stone, so a grey jedi has feelings, but is not compleately evil.
+ElZamo92 Word!
Sweet as.
What about the alternate ending where Luke takes of Vader’s helmet and puts it on and says “now I am Vader”
Well... there're always two Sith, so Kylo Ren could be Luke's apprentice.
+Adam “Valus Ta'aurc” Krouk look up Supreme Leader Snoke
+Adam Krouk “Valus Ta'aurc” Yep, I also think that Snoke is actually a Sith.
Luke is not a sith in this I'm telling you people it has to be Jacen if Rey is in this Jacen has to be!
Well, there are always two dark side users.
Snoke seems more like a Grand Moff Tarkin character to me, personally.
can't wait to hear Luke does Joker's laugh as a dark side
OMG YESSSSS >:D
😂😂😂😂
Perfect
Would be fun, admit it. Though combinig what can be seen of Luke with the input of this Theory episode, probably Luke's rather going to have a dark past (whatever happened between Return and Awakens and if we are truely to ignore everything from EU) he now regrets and ends as a tragic, yet redeemed hero.
Just a swift guess. Hope I am wrong.
Boi,you can watch it on demand.
There is no ignorance

Here too
Didn't everyone already realise this weeks ago?
+essengeebee Yeah. But think of it like this... For all the newcommers for Star Wars that cant think for themself :v thats why the video is here, to help them spoil what shouldnt come as a surprise if it actually turns out like it.
+essengeebee You mean 30 years ago?
+essengeebee yes, but remember it take some time to create the video and edit it, so probably he was doing it during the time the theory started but now every one know it, but he still uploaded the video since he wanted to help people to understand better the theory.
+essengeebee YEP. From light years, even. Perhaps we could see it from a galaxy, far, far away.
+essengeebee Uhm... No, it was never confirmed... And there is a different actor playing him, so there also is a chance of him being good.
The reveal is it's Jar Jar....
+jeco0357 noooooooo
+jeco0357 MESA TURNED TO THE DARK SIDDDDDE

MatPat: how often is Yoda wrong?
…
Jake Lockley So true. It'd be great to see a Gray Jedi in the movie series!
qui gon jin was a grey jedi
FryerTad Nah I think Luke just means that they can't rebuild the Order
I don't see myself as light or dark. I follow the Dim side.
I follow the "Moderatley lit, not too dark, not too bright" side.
And I follow the "Shit they cut my electric bill again" side.
+3D3LTAGaming im more of a grey side
+3D3LTAGaming There actually is a group like that in the Star Wars universe called the "Grays" and they're centered around the balance of the force, the balance of light and dark.
+Henri Romagnoli shut up nerd... jk xD
I love how the subtitles at the beginning say “Non-copyrighted Star Wars Theme”
A true jedi, finds a perfect balance between the light and dark, between good and evil. Luke managed to find that balance between light and dark in Return of the Jedi. And for that reason, I don't think Luke is evil, and I don't think he'll be evil in The Force Awakens.
*cough Revan, *Cough
+Fries Fish I wanted to say that. :)
then we see them sword fighting and shit
agreed
+Taco1011 ... and it might be a failure in the making.. hence destines to follow the prequel...
Well, Luke has only like 1 minute of screen time in the force awakens, this theory might be true in the next movie.
SPOILERS!!!!!!! It isn't a true theory :P
i know and its sad how #Blank gets killed by his own #Blank in the huge ass #Blank
+Tommy Toivanen Don't forget that #Blank got fucked up by #Blank who never used a lightsaber before XD
+Tommy Toivanen I know what your talking about and that's just a rumor
The blanks are Han Solo and his son
Dude... I'm convinced, actually... if this doesn't happen i think its a missed opportunity
Luke is I. The trailer with r2d2
+Lagg Bird but what if that's Luke turning into kylo ren and killing r2d2
+Karen Rameaka I don't see that
+mr. .Flaw I don't know though...it seems too predictable.
+mr. .Flaw *CLAPS*
That would have been a better story than the one we got in The Last Jedi.
I know someone is gonna woosh me for this, but Luke becoming a power hungry Sith is better than Luke losing hope?
_I accept my fate._
somebody should make a fan film trilogy about that
@@night-seeker666 I think so, him turning the most evil person in the galaxy good again, then suddenly losing hope for everyone makes no sense. But him taking the same path as anakin is interesting.
I assume this was JJ Abrams' original plan before Rian Johnson came along and... yeah
if you havent seen the movie, I know someone who dies!!!!
a storm trooper lol
+AG Photography NOT THE STORMTROOPER, NOOOOOOOOO!
Traitor!
+AG Photography Come at least put up a spoiler warning.
Han Solo dies 😢
Tech Fanboy
NUUUUUU (I saw the movie anyway.)
SPOILERS: The new movie has an ending.
*gaaaaasp*
*Crys Internally*
I'm sorry I just had to say it.
Omg, you fucking bitch! I thought movies never ended and lasted until the end of time and eternity! Next think you know, unicorns aren't real!
+Dandy Whale but unicorns aren't real ?
Ruler3995 Yeah but I'm pretty sure this guy was in the comics. In truth I only remember seeing it in a comic volume.
+Mariusweeddeath Cade in Legacy comics from old Expanded Universe
+Ruler3995 leave it to a KH fan to give some good input, thx man
Man, Star Wars 22: Darth Luke Awakens is my favorite!
I think he's gonna be a Grey Jedi, like everyone will be lead to think he's turned to the Dark Side when, SURPRISE!! He's found the 3rd alternative nobody was expecting, he's found true balance by not siding with either
There is no in between
SpongeXtermiat0r94 Then it's not really balanced, is it?
+SpongeXtermiat0r94 the thing is, there is, and its something explored in the expanded univerce.
Its even implied Qui gon was a grey jedi.
+El Escolta the new movie will not follow the expanded universe
+SpongeXtermiat0r94 In the expanded universe there is. Granted that's not canon anymore :(
Everyone's bitching about how bad and wrong this theory is.
Meanwhile I'm just wishing it actually happened.
Lol
+katmanxrocks444 It still might have....let's be honest.
Me 2
The question is still unanswered, there is no context as to what exactly happened to him, we have to wait till episode 8 next year
Well he is quite wrong i wonder if he watched the other movies or just resurch but he fled the scence cause he failed the order but not by betraying it but accidently had someone betray it
I want a dark luke so bad. I would sacrifice my soul to Jar Jar Binks for it!
I'm not hating but why?
me to
+Darth Serpace well your wish has apparently been granted as if Disney couldn't screw things up any worse it does appear that Luke is Evil their going by the books
Why would you sell your soul to the most powerful sith for a lesser one
+Darth Serpace They have to make him on the dark side
I AM CR0W
Dude I'm just saying I only rewatched this to laugh histaricly at the theory I could care less about him being wrong
I AM CR0W in the books he does fall to the dark side so...
I AM CR0W I supported the theory... :,(
+I AM CR0W to be honest my my mum dad grandpa and grandma and my twin uncles one of which is actually in number 8 all thort the same thing
I AM CR0W but, Luke might have joined the dark side, then become a jedi.
What if JJ hired Matpat to set up this elaborate ruse? HE even stated that this has been done before by the SAME actor in the video.
+Blue Wonder Theory about a theory! (and a good one, I'll admit!)
+Blue Wonder but its just a theory... a youtuber theory!
+Blue Wonder GENIUS.
Illuminati comfirmed
Oops, did I say "actor"? I meant Director*.
MAT YOU WERE WROOOOOONG
+goodyule how do you know
Ben Dover dude it's in the movie.
goodyule he didn't do or say anything in the movie
+Ben Dover except stare at seagulls.
The G-Wing maybe more info on episode 8 will give out more details
Thought I would watch the first video I watched of matpat. I’m gonna miss him. Have a happy retirement matpat. You deserve a break.
Man same. I watched this when my dad and I were preparing to see this movie, I didn't realize till years later that this was MatPat.
