Car companies, please keep physical controls in cars!!!!!!!! Think about it, in some of these cars today if the big touch screen dies, your screwed, you can't change the climate controls or nothing. It is so stupid how America has fallen in love with screens. I think car companies need to keep it simple, they can have these touch screens, but leave physical controls, that way if screen malfunctions or dies, you can still operate the car, you have a back up if the screen dies. Love the buddy reviews, about time you bring these back.

Good point about the screen. I had a 2017 Pacifica, and it was a nightmare getting to the heated seats and steering wheel. FCA are the only company who don't put a sync button on any vehicle, be it a Chrysler, Jeep, RAM etc. Now I have a 2022 Sienna, with all the buttons for the heated seats laid out on the dash and it is so much easier - and safer! - to use. • @IntoTheLightAstrology

Only recently I discovered that you'all are more than trucks, when I saw your pre-release video that talked a lot about the Corolla Cross. I've already seen quite a few reviews, and quickly came to realize that you two are among tops in this thing. So without questioning your authority I was to finally express a frustration I'm having with Corolla Cross review, which also touches on many car reviews: the tendency to focus on top-of-the-line.
In the case of this car, which will sell more FWD than AWD (based on my poking around) most reviews not only are in AWD, but don't give a clearly stated distinction: AWD is heavier, slower, and with a hit to fuel economy. I'm on the fence with this model (I currently love my 3rd gen Soul, but also loved my previous Corolla, needing to get up off the ground at 66 years old.
I know I'm giving up acceleration (not so important, but I like it) and maybe some maneuverability (though I'm not sure if the torsion beam tech may keep up with my Soul's respectable agility). However I also like smooth. In any case, regarding 0-60, I've seen a number of tests, from 8.6 with a single driver (no passengers) in the FWD LE, and slowest being 10.x in an AWD with a single driver. It is stunning how much the extra weight plus AWD slows it down. Fortunately my choice is the FWD LE.
It would be great if you superimposed some text at key points to note differences in models. The FWD LE is what dealers mostly have "in transit" (a bold faced deception, where it really means "scheduled for manufacture/completion", someday).

I'd easily recommend Corolla Cross to anyone, but Kona 2.0L 6speed AWD with heat steering, leather etc is for me. Not because interior feel more premium then Corolla Cross, but because I can bias torque to 50/50 (front/rear) and with traction off, in behaves like a little rally car in the snow (at any speeds...not just for low speed)... Rav4's awesome traction control system would not be able to catch Kona, which does it better with all the nannies turned off.

IF this car had the Hybrid system on it, that 0-60 would have been greatly aided. While the MPG is good as is, this is def. a case where the Hybrid is needed for the power boost. Lease it. Because when they do bring out the Hybrid, you can swap out w/out dumping all that money on this version.

Question! So there is a 2018 RAV4 Hybrid with 60,000 Miles on it for around $27,000 and the same place is selling a brand new 2022 Corolla Cross LX for 26,500. What is more worth it? A pre owned RAV Hybrid that is 4 years old, or A Brand new Cross?

is anyone publishing a list of Toyota Dealers who are at MSRP?! It's well worth the $59 dollar southwest flight to go pick it up from anywhere insead of paying a Min of $3k over MSRP. I think the OEMs should maintain a list like that if they gave a damn about their brand reputation.

How does it compare to the Vibe/Matrix 1st gen and 2nd gen. Wish Toyota would have used the 2.0 and 2.5 and 5 speed auto and or 6 speed auto. The best car I ever had was the 07' Vibe 1.8 auto running strong at 270K miles, just brakes, tires and changing fluids. Wondering why Toyota didn't call it the Matrix.
Also does it come in a Luxus flavor??? 😎

i think their speed test device showing 13.7secs (0-60 mph ) is not working correctly.
Yes, i agree that the Corolla Cross is ''slow'' but not near 14 seconds slow. Most every other online car video review pegs the 0-60 at the average mark of 9-10 seconds.
I have an older 04 toyota matrix with the standard 132 hp / auto and that gets about 8.5-9.5 secs /0-60. Looking online, the 2009Matrix with the same 132 hp / auto gets 9 seconds. I realize adding heavy overweight passenger and a rear seat camera man plus a full sized adult driver will bog any vehicle down, but not so much to turn it into a slug on the freeway.
Having said all that, Toyota could of increased the torque or increased the displacement BUT they do not want the Cross to steal away too many sales from the bigger Rav4 with the 2.5L.
    - The Cross Hybrid will be no rocket either, i will guess. I thin toyota will play it safe and off the corolla cross hybrid as something slightly a bit faster but nothing to make you go go '' wow!!''.....it will be pretty much the one to get if you want much better mpg then the regular 2.0L gas engine. Toyota will churn out the Cross with 2.oL gas for a decade if they can unless they ugrade the Rav4 4cylinder engine ( they tend to trickle down other engines to other lesser vehicles once they got long in the tooth on the more bigger/better pricier volume sellers)

I've had my 1997 Camry for 25 years and planned on buying a new vehicle this year but I'll be damened if I pay those jacked up new car prices. I'll continue to drive my Camry that only has 130,000 miles and is still running great. I wanted the newer safety technology but will wait until these prices come down. I want the Corolla Cross.

Keep in mind that they're selling this in markets where the Corolla Wagon exists, so calling this the Corolla wagon might suggest to them that the actual corolla wagon will be discontinued. I personally wouldn't have been bothered if they decided to make this the Matrix revival, the same way they revived the Venza name.
