Currents is cleaner than Lonerism, but Lonerism is very nostaligic for most fans. Good to see the handsome trio covering Tame Impala again.

Currents is a very “current” sounding album with just enough psychedelia but lonerism is a pure psychedelic wonderland of sound and it will most likely remain my #1 album of all time. thats just personal preference tho i can see how some songs might be ‘too much sound’

@@tdk.official3740 I absolutely adore Let It Happen & Nangs, but for me Lonerism is the masterpiece. The later albums almost feel too clean, a little too over produced. Endors Toi, Apocalypse Dreams & Mind Mischief was the best triple punch of the decade.

by growers i simply mean the worst version you heard of the album is most likely one of your first listens , as tame imapala only gets better the more you play it

Definitely. The Slow Rush and Currents both clicked almost instantly because they were more accessible. It took some adjusting but now Lonerism is right up there with Currents. I haven’t caught on much to Innerspeaker still, but I know that will change.

This was my trip album for a while, so much nostalgia from this album!
If you love this neo-psychdelic sound, checkout Deerhunter and King Gizz too! And if you want to dive deeper into where this music came from and go down the indie rock rabbit hole, check out the debut albums from Interpol, Arctic Monkey's, and The Strokes.
