This is my favorite album of his. Tame Impala has changed my life. I never thought I would become so enthralled in the work of a single person. I remember being in a record store and having headphones on listening to this for the first time. It was like listening to the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin all rolled into one. I was so blown away.
I had a good time listening along with you gentlemen. 😁 Tame Impala isn't something I typically listen to, but it's hard to not have a good time when reactors are enjoying the music so much. I would really like to listen to some live performances that showcase Tame Impala jamming out with the other musicians appearing with him on stage, because the abrupt track endings feel too abrupt. Especially when songs are really in the groove, it feels like the bassist should be turning to the drummer and they should be feeding off that energy the other is radiating. When a band is jamming together that's where the magic happens, but because Tame Impala records as a solo act we don't get that unspoken interplay between musicians. Can't wait for next week's album. Any hints? 😉

Dude, the extra track on the album, Led Zeppelin (not including the b sides or rarities which I’m sure he would love too) would be awesome to see, especially since it is literally called Led Zeppelin and he loves classic rock. Tame Impala always reminded me of a direction that Olivia Tremor Control could have gone with more access to synths and a little less Beatles influence. Have you heard their album Dusk at Cubist Castle?
Def suggest checking out the rest of the Australian Psych scene that Tame came from, it’s still going on, as well as the more global psych revival they partially inspired. Some ppl fall in love with elements of Tame shared by the scene but think all they’ll ever get of it is whatever Tame releases, so many great bands. Psych is where it’s at man.
