Little story time: I've only started listening to actual Hip-Pop genre back in summer 2019 when my friend suggested to listen to IGOR. While that definitely is not 100% Hip pop album, hearing Tyler the creator the first time (and heard about him in the past) made me jump into the genre. I wanted to jump on the first album I could remember seeing online, and went into Veteran. I dont remember why I had that album in mind, I remember liking the album cover a lot tho. I remember playing 1539 n calvert and enjoyed it, repeated that 2-3 times, then resumed with the second track. Oh boy it was an INSANE run and I never stopped the album, just laid on my bed. "Is this the Hip Pop that everyone was talking about?" I was a bit confused at first, but it became quickly love at first sight. Starting with an album like this surely made me have a different eye on the hip pop scene, even after all the albums I listened after that, and no other albums gived me the same feeling as this. While I think LP! (offline) is overall a better album and a real 10/10 one, Veteran became for me such a classic ageless album and a bit nostalgic too. This album means a lot to me and changed forever my taste in music
