YESS IN RAINBOWS NEXT
Imo the best album from them
I agree In Rainbows next!!!!
They’re finally listening to the best band of all time
you forgot maneskin exist
After Pink Floyd
After Pink Floyd
After the Beatles
Led Zep, Beatles, Floyd are the only 3 ahead of them
yall reaction to him getting the pronunciation right for Subterranean Homesick Alien was JOKES 😭
That had me dying bro
Frrr that was pure comedy lmfao
Happy to see love for Let Down, an underated masterpiece
Let down underrated
Been my favourite song of all time for 27 years. So beautiful. So dynamic. Thom’s vocals and emotions are off the scale. That climax..
Agreed. Check out the Easy Star All Stars reggae version - excellent! And the band themselves are also huge fans.
My favourite Radiohead song, and the saddest song I've ever heard
outjerked
The vocalist is Thom Yorke. I would strongly recommend you check out In Rainbows from 2007 or Kid A from 2000. Fans of the band frequently debate over those top 3 (as well as others) for being their favorite. They are all masterpieces and absolutely stunning.
Exit Music (For A Film) was originally going to be used for a Romeo and Juliet movie, but the idea got scrapped. It was later used in a fantastic Black Mirror episode (Shut Up And Dance). One of my favorite pieces of music ever composed.
Airbag is about a real experience Thom Yorke had in which he nearly died from a car accident; he literally says an airbag saved his life. In the last song, The Tourist, he says repeatedly "Hey man/Idiot, slow down, slow down" which then cycles back to the beginning of the album which takes place after the implied car crash.
Also huge respect for the Let Down love, a lot of people overlook it on first listen but at some point it just hits at the right time and you understand why some people think it's the best song on the album.
Wait wdym the idea was scrapped I swear they put the song in the movie. It’s the backbone of the songs lyrics (though Thom did find his own meaning within them)
Exit music was also in umbrella academy and i thought the placement of it was great and thematically fitting!
If i had to have only 2, it would probably have to be In Rainbows and Kid A. There are about 4 others than ALMOST get to that AAA+++ quality though so it's hard to choose. Amnesiac is fucking good.
@@CaspianMagal-tp8tv you're right actually! it got used in the credits for the 1996 movie with DiCaprio. However, it wasn't included in the soundtrack due to the band deciding to make it a part of this album.
I see. Thanks for clarifying.
Relistened to this album very recently and it really does live up to the hype
The fact that at the end he says "slow down" and the start is him getting into a car crash, is just oddly terrifying. (not my observation, Brad taste in music's observation)
i never deeped this and I've been a Radiohead fan for over 10 years.... thank you
Yup both the opener and closer are about a car crash he got in
holy shit that makes so much sense how did i not catch that
omg you're right
The Tourist isn't about a car crash. I believe it was Jonny Greenwood who was in Paris and he saw tourists running around, as if they had to enjoy their travelling as efficiently as possible. That was the basis for the song.
Just want to say thank you for listening to the songs all the way through and letting the dynamics and flow of the music speak.
It’s utterly painful when people pause 10 times a song and disturb the statement of the song. Especially important with albums like this.
We need their album “In Rainbows “ next
Let Down is one of Radiohead's best songs sorry but it beats creep anyday
let down underrated
Been my favourite song of all time for 27 years. So beautiful. So dynamic. Thom’s vocals and emotions are off the scale. That climax..
The most obvious and correct take
There's atleast 50+ Radiohead tracks that beat Creep anyday
@SlowUnsteady.. agreed. In fact after a quick scan at my completist collection I think there’s probably more like 60 to 70 Radiohead songs better than Creep. Not just the far superior albums but even quite a few B-sides surpass it. Don’t get me wrong, I do like Creep, but they’ve made some of the greatest songs of all time that are mind blowing.
This is the first time I've ever seen your channel. Guy in tan shirt (srry, don't know your name's yet), your description of "Let Down" is exactly how I feel when I listen to it.
Tell your buds that this album is one of the best b/c it perfectly captures the depression caused by existing in our modern world. While not an upper, it is thematically, & musically brilliant as well as cathartic.
IN RAINBoWS
BOTH DISCS
You guys will be blown away. Incredible album!!
Heard Let Down in the season 1 finale of The Bear and it gave me chills
In rainbows
This is the first album I ever bought with my own money when I was in high school. This was back when I had a cd player but they would skip if you bumped them 😅 new tech. I had my eye on this album for a while and finally randomly decided to buy it only having heard Paranoid Android before. Best random purchase in my life. Now I own everything they’ve ever released. ❤
I did not expect this to be one of my favorite reactions to OK Computer ever lol you guys should definitely check out In Rainbows and Kid A
My favourite band of all time. My favourite album of all time. The best musically but also importantly, the most emotionally authentic and powerful. Been listening for 37 years and it still gets better.
Bro the album came out in 1997, the math doesn't really add up
I meant 27 years. Just a typo. I bought it on the day of release.
I love y’all’s energy, great vibes all around, would love to see yall react to other RadioHead projects, most notably In Rainbows
I just listened to this album today and loved it again and then your video popped up on TH-cam! So nice to see fresh faces enjoying this record. Radiohead is the GREATEST!!
The second half of climbing up the walls might be the best piece of music ever
Heavily agreed! An underrated track
Amazing album and great pick for 10k 🔥 🔥
In Rainbows
No Diddy
I appreciate the editing - the timing synced with the music🗿🙏
Congrats on the 10k, yall deserve this and more keep up the great content
you guys are unique with the way your go about your reaction. there are some things that def need work but i see the vision
The flow and progression of the songs themselves, as well as the album as a whole is what I believe cements it as one of the GOATs. The layers and details in all of the sound was so ahead of its time, and there won't be another band like Radiohead in my opinion. I can't wait to see you guys listen to In Rainbows (2008) and A Moon Shaped Pool (2016). Both incredible albums and the latter has a bit of all their albums' sounds cohesively.
If you want to see the band at work please please look into doing the "From the Basement" live studio recording of In Rainbows (after you do the album). Watching them create all of these sounds and how tight they are as a band is super impressive and I think it would make for a great reaction. Fire reaction as always guys i'm glad you're taking the Radiohead journey!
Instant sub. Y’all are a great listen.
Great review and reaction. Glad you dug it so much.
TH-cam algorithm brought me to your video and very glad that it did. Loved you're reactions specifically to Exit Music which i also think is a gem - written for Romeo and Juliet so not a western ;)
The rust clip in paranoid android made me laugh so hard LOL. Wasn’t expecting that. Also great reaction, you guys have great vibes 🤙
I missed the intro with the premiere, incredible cypher 🙏
Great reaction, lads. Let Down nearly didn’t make it on to the album. One of their greatest songs.
the production is getting better and better
great reaction, never seen u guys before. i love radiohead, this album is a classic, not even in my top 3 radiohead albums tho. In Rainbows is perfection.its all personal taste tho. keep it going.
😂 please never stop cutting to the memes that was absolutely hilarious on Paranoid Android with the missile and the chopper
On a side note please blur out every yawn during a Radiohead song from here on out 😂
I'll try to remember that next time 😭
great reaction to a great album. subbed!
i was sat watching your reactions to tame impalas albums the other day, it’s great to see you react to radiohead
Let down getting the love it deserves❤
Radiohead are COMPOSERS. Like when you listen to their songs, you're talking about all sorts of rare chords, totally unique atmospheres, super complex layering, like they don't go into a studio and "jam" and just slop around. They compose the way classical musicians compose, where every measure is very carefully plotted out. True masters.
Congrats on 10K 🎂🎂
Nah this editing is hilarious, props
Well done on getting Let Down so fast.. people usually miss it at first amongst the other brilliant tunes.. so good.
Been waiting on this one fr
Great reaction guys. You just earned a new sub!
Love your reactions - OK Computer was the go to LP in 97...you should also try Ladies and Gentleman we are Floating in Space by Spiritualized... your reactions to this album are perfect. You were in the presence of greatness, and you knew it. Nice one fellas!
Thumbnail fire guys, great work and reaction
I feel the exact same way about Let Down. Song is one of, if not the best of all time. Just amazing, every emotion all at once, the build up and countermelodies are perfect and it has such a perfect climax that the last like 2 mins of this song are actual perfection.
I was so happy to see the positive reactions especially to let down, it’s my all time favorite and I loved seeing the reactions to the first time listen
It's funny that you brought up the Western vibe in "Exit Music (for a film)" because that song was used for the season 1 closing scene in the show "Westworld," and I highly recommend checking that out. A bunch of Radiohead songs made their way into the soundtrack for that show, most arranged for strings.
36:16 was probably the greatest moment I've witnessed in a music reaction channel LMAO
They knew what was coming
edit: something I don't share often with people but there was a "newer" song that was released that had an older version they intended to be on THIS album when it came out. They didn't include it because they felt it would have too much commercial success and take away from the rest of the album lol.
Look up "Radiohead - Lift (Studio Mix #1)"
Every single year the universal acclaim this album gets seems more and more justified.
Everybody is gangsta until Let Down starts.
FYI the Paranoid Android refers to Marvin the Paranoid Android from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
More Radiohead please omg!!!!
Great reaction! I suggest The Bends and In Rainbows next
dang yall the vibes are immaculate, especially the synchronized head bobbing for let down.
yoo big upgrade !!
In rainbows will blow your minds as well
that DAMN > TPAB take was a wild way to end the vid ngl
Another album you need to check out is Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". It stayed on album charts for 990 weeks, it's the 4th biggest selling record of all time.❤
Just wait till you hear out they released B-sides to this album in the remastered version, which just add to it. So if you don't want it to end.... there's more
try their album "In Rainbows" - it is neck and neck with this one as their best album. Great vid, thanks! Peace/
Exit Music (For A Film) is used at the end of Romeo+Juliet (1996) and also an episode of Black Mirror. Both super effective imo.
Probably others too but those are the ones I've seen.
Man the thumbnail for this video is beautiful
The fact that you all felt peaceful and positive in the most depressing and gutwretching songs in the album, ahahaha
got to do in rainbows
What a great reaction guys! I loved watching you all totally vibe out :)
Please do KID-A next …. Then In Rainbows. In that order. You all will not be disappointed. 🤙
love yall
The key to understanding No surprises I reckon is the " get me out of here" at the end. It's not a happy song I guess, it's a beautiful song. I reckon it's about boredom and repetition.
I first heard this album in 2005, I was 20 years old. My friend had recently ended his life. Exit music for a film grabbed onto my soul, I still think of him when I hear it. ❤
I strongly recommend deftones since you guys enjoyed this, another band with an amazing vocalist and have a good balance of ethereal beautiful songs and hard stuff. STRONGLY recommend white pony or diamond eyes. Love the content guys keep it up 👊
While I encourage you to cover Radiohead's entire discography, you guys have to check out Portishead's Dummy album, Massive Attack's Mezzanine album and Morcheeba's Big Calm album, I pretty sure trip hop is gonna blow your mind, it's the ultimate chillax and vibe music. Highly recommend watching Portishead's Live in Roseland NYC concert whenever and wherever possible, it's iconic, they have a full philharmonic accompanying them throughout.
In Rainbows and Hail to The Thief. Best of Radiohead.
let down is my fav song on here along with no surprises and climbing up the walls, 100% felt that let down story, replayed it like 15 times when i first heard it
Let down is one of my favourite tunes of all time. Maybe you should have a look at Toots and the Maytals version.
It’s a fantastic compliment to the original .
Can I suggest you listen to In Ranbows, but the live version from In The Basement. It is so cool to actually see they band and how they interact and some fo the songs are actually better live.
You will be blown away by In Rainbows, even more than this imo
Holy.. that one guy needs some sleep 😂 great reaction!
"In rainbows" next please!! Or "hail to the thief " they will get u prepared for "kid A" lol
Highly recommend The Bends after this one, and then essentially doing the discography in chronological order. Every album is interesting and worth listening to in its own way, and I think hearing how the band progressed naturally, and how they continue to build on themes and motifs carried through multiple releases will enhance your appreciation of their greatness. Kid A and In Rainbows are always spammed in every thread about them but it's not worth skipping over albums entirely and forever missing the opportunity to hear everything for the first time in order.
Saying the first half of paranoid android is a two is just an evil opinion
need more radiohead !!!
When I first listened to this album in it’s entirety about 20 years ago, i legit almost had an out of body experience when it finally got to The Tourist.
love it
I was literally just thinking I need them to react to In Rainbows and I come here to see if there is anything new and it’s OK Computer let’s fuckINgGO
Thanks for thinking about us 🥺
I’ll never forget sitting in my ‘67 Mustang in 1999, smoking weed and listening to this album for the very first time. I had a good system in that car and when Airbag hit with the sleigh bells, the D&B style beat and bass line, Thom’s voice and Jonny Greenwood’s guitar licks, I knew my life would never be the same
best group on youtube 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yall need to listen to the new abnormal by the strokes
I like that y’all picture movies in your head listening to the music, I do the same!
Radiohead is otherworldly. Each of their albums is an experience.
Favorite album since I finished high school in 2016 and to this day there are so many moments where I'm listening and I can't even believe this shit is real
If you think this took you on a journey, you should check out their next album, Kid A.
Haha! I love your associations to Exit music... Not too far of Romeo and Juilett 😊
TAURUS SEASON! 😂 Yo, great reaction to this album. I also consider this album a MASTERPIECE. Definitely check out Kid A and In Rainbows. They're also considered masterpieces, but this one always hits me hardest.
This album needs to played on repeat for about a month
It took awhile for "Let Down" to be my favorite from this album, but once it happened, it's remained.
First Time watching you guys so question for the coments, is it too soon to say "the Smile" 😁
Enjoy your Radiohead Trip
W intro
I fell out when you were all shocked by your guys perfect reading of Subterranean Homesick Alien
Enjoy Kid A... 😊👍🇮🇪
Love the reaction. Radiohead took a good amount of inspiration from Pink Floyd, they’re def a good band to check out. Dark side of the moon 🙏
