      Your so right!
      Actually, every music artist reaching the pillars of success should be "forced" to do at least a bit of teaching throughout their life. Maybe where they grew up. Just as a way of giving back to the community, since we all have been throwing our millions at them

      @@udkc if you want to skip ahead of waiting for that to happen you can just analyze his songs yourself and learn a lot. Maybe not all his production secrets and private flairs but that's not going to teach you the mindset to do that stuff yourself anyways, or why his music is so good in the first place

    The secret to that amazing drum sound on that Queens of the Stone Age record is the producer Eric Valentine. He is the absolute king of drum sounds. My favorite example of his signature “punch in the gut” drum sound is Can’t Stop by Maroon 5. He knows how to get the drums to explode out of the speakers without taking it too far. What’s awesome is Eric even has his own TH-cam channel where he explains in detail how he gets his sounds. I highly recommend watching his channel to anyone interested in music production.

    • @freelance_commie
      @freelance_commie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +373

      @@zapata9617 he’s referring to the repetitive nature of the music sounding electronic. Not just extracting the drum beat and looping/sampling it. If you hear a James Brown track you can hear how it’s sampled and used but it doesn’t sound like a breakbeat. It’s a funk song. The silver apples track sounds like it could be a contemporary electronic song. I don’t think he was trying to claim they were the first drums to play like that but rather so consistent and repetitive. And he’s completely right it’s a quality of the song.

    • @zapata9617
      @zapata9617 4 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      @@freelance_commie Thanks, the reason I thought he was referring to breakbeats is because the drum track does sound like it could be a sampled breakbeat. The breakbeat is a drum break in a funk song. Because it is isolated they ended up being sampled a lot. The beat he is showing does sound like it could be a breakbeat that was sampled so that's where all the confusion is, because it seems like he is saying it was pre-breakbeats
