    I tries the vertex 2 and lets say customer support was not the best. I ended up returning it to Amazon while I could. They had me connecting everything to the vertex than the audio to my receiver and the tv and projector to tx0 & 1 . That set up did not wirk well with my sound, when I had it. I am thinking about the diva because I really want this to work. I believe you have or had an epson 5040 projector as I do also the Marantz 8802a pre amp and two 8077 marantz amps. i was also using my reavon player. This time around I will connect the hdmi out on the marantz to the hdmi in 1on the divi and the tx0 to my projector. I am hoping this will keep my 7.2.4 audio the same . Love the videos. I have a setup similar to yours using a projector. A couple of quick questions - can you confirm that to get Dolby Vision you need to use either the HD Fury 4K Diva (like you) or the 8k VRROOM 40GBPS (which I have seen others use). Do any of the other HD Fury products also allow Dolby Vision for a projector (8K Arcana 2 VRR and 4K Vertex 2 seem to be similar boxes but are a bit cheaper). Also if I get this I assume I will need to get my Control 4 system updated by my supplier as I will now only be using a single HDMI in from the HD Fury box and don't need to use my AVR for spilitting the signal to the right source - Apple TV; Zidoo; XBOX? Thanks Phil

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you!
      I believe all the HDFury products support LLDV. It just depends on how many hdmi ports you need.
      If you go with a 4 port HDFury device you will not need a splitter as the HDFury will handle the switching. You can still use your AVR with the HDFury though. If using control 4 you would need to get with your dealer to integrate it into your system. Hope this helps!

I have a JVC RS-520 (faux 4K, HDR10+) that I have been using for about 5 years now (on my second bulb) and I really love the projector and have thought about the new JVC laser models with dynamic tone mapping, but the cost is crazy now for projectors. I am thinking about an HD Fury DIVA for LLDV, all of my sources (Apple TV 4K Gen2, Panasonic UB820 UHD Player) support DV. I have been using the HDR tone mapping in the Panasonic UHD player but this seems like it could be a step up. It's not cheap, but way cheaper than buying a brand new projector :)

    Thank you for these videos, I think I am closer to pulling the trigger. I am most interested in the DV capability since my 4k 82" Samsung TV does not support it. I currently have all my devices (Tivo, Nvidia Shield Pro, Xbox One) connected to a Caavo control center (which is really just an HDMI switcher) and then audio through my Yamaha receiver. Looking at the Diva, would this sit between the Caavo and the TV input or do the 3 devices have to plug into the Diva directly? I really would not want to lose the Caavo functionality as it is the only wife-proof universal remote I've found. Just wanting to make sure this will work with my setup. Thanks again, your videos have been super helpful.

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ John Clausing Thank you! Glad I could help. 😁 This is a good question. I dont have any experience with Caavo but I am familiar with it as I looked into it a while back…
      My thoughts are that each device you are using needs to be plugged directly into the HD Fury so that the Fury can process the signal and do what it needs to do. You could absolutely plug the caavo into the HD Fury, but you would basically be only plugging in “one” device into the diva and I’m not sure how the Diva will interact. It “SHOULD” in theory, work the same way, if you’ll be using the caavo for the hdmi switching still. The HD Fury should still process the signal the same way based on the source, however I am not entirely sure as I have not tested this specific setup.
      It looks like the caavo also supports hdr and DV, so my only concern would be that you may run into a double DV or HDR. But again I’m not sure. The only real way to know is to buy it and try it. If you run into issues then you can just return it. Hope this helps!

    I don’t need it for my TV

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you go HDMI OUT has to go into a display. Either TV or Projector. The Diva just passes information. You’d either have to go DIVA directly into your projector and split the audio to your receiver, or go Projector to HDMI OUT on your receiver and use the DIVA on one of the HDMI IN’s and let your DIVA do the switching

    Hi Cowboy, your videos are excellent, informative and easy to follow. Thanks for making them and please keep making them as I follow them diligently. I had a question whether any of the below setups would make a large difference one way or other:
    Setup 1 (The one you showed in video): Connect all devices (Xbox, AppleTV, etc.) to HD Fury, connect HD Fury to receiver, and receiver to TV/projector. This means we just keep same settings on receiver and tv/projector and switch displays on HD Fury device.
    Setup 2 (my preferred one): Connect all devices (Xbox, AppleTV, etc.) to receiver. Connect receiver output to HD Fury and then HD Fury output to TV/projector. This means we switch inputs on receiver and keep same settings on HD Fury and TV/projector, just like we did originally, without HD Fury.
    Do you know what would be difference in picture/audio quality between both above setups? This will help me decide the option better.
    For extra context, this is my setup:
    Projector: Bomaker Polaris 4K (supports HDR 10)
    Screen: Vava ALR screen 100"
    Receiver: Yamaha RX-V6A (supports Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, etc.)
    Speakers: Klipsch Dolby Atmos Reference Surround Sound System.

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not entirely sure option 2 would work. I think to get LLDV you need to have your video sources to be directly connected to the HD Fury. You might run into connectivity issues.
      You could always try it and see if it works, but I feel like DV might have issues not directly connected to the Fury.

      Does your projector support HDR 10? You need a display that supports HDR 10. Arc is for audio

    • @joesa4717
      @joesa4717 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, sir. My projector supports HDR 10. Yup, I want to be able to get eARC audio , Atmos , etc to my DENON. But I also need for video to be passed as Dolby Vision. So I guess I am asking with a projector that doesn’t support neither of these, how would I connect all these to make it happen.
      My old projector, which I plan on sunsetting or gift to someone, had an HDMI ARC passthrough. So there was only one connection going from the HDMI, ARC enabled port from the projector, to my AVR’s ARC port. And then all other components, PS5, Roku , etc. are directly connected to the AVR ports and the video signals are passthrough to the projection, while Denon handles all the audio sequencing.
      With my new projector though, I have no HDMI ARC port to set it up the same way, plus I would like the extra DV capability as well.
      So how will everything look like connection wise for all these audio and video to happen?

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Diva, VROOM and Vertex 2 all have earc. So you would go from your HDR10 projector straight into the HDFury, all your video devices would plug into the HDFury, and then you would have a separate HDMI from the HDFury’s earc straight into one of your HDMI in on your receiver for the audio.

I wasn't getting hdr10+ as I don't think John wick supports it so it was just hdr and when I added the vrroom I got DV as the icon showed up but I couldn't really tell a difference unless I missed something. Will a HD Fury Diva get a Sony XW5000 (only HDR10) projector closer to the performance of the JVC RS1100/NP5 (HDR10+) projector?

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My projector is HDR 10 only, so its limited by the bandwidth. But you will see better performance with LLDV because your streaming device or blu ray play will do the tone mapping on the device itself before the signal reaches your projector, it just gets sent back in an HDR 10 container.
      So technically yes it will get closer because HDR 10 is static….it cant tone map dynamically on the fly, but HDR 10+ will still be a little better because it allows for more colors.

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Which Nvidia Shield are you using? Is it the 2017 version or 2019 version? Your PLEX client(shield) needs to have Dolby Vision support, as well as your movies and your receiver. Otherwise, yes you wont see a difference. The only device that doesnt need to support DV is your display since the HDFury will be sending the signal back into an hdr 10 format.
      Also how are you ripping your movies? Makemkv? DvdFab?
