My MacBook won’t bring it up when I connect them together. Is it really necessary or can I just plug and play without updating? (Waiting on my soundbar to arrive) - Sonos ARC
I ordered my HD Fury from your link and receive the 5% discount. Took about four days to arrive. Its setup took my just a few minutes. Sounds great! So glad I bought this to go with my Sonos Arc system. I made the purchase with PayPal on the website and it did look a little suspicious but it worked. Thanks for the discount!

Bought the Arcana to get Dolby Vision working with a Samsung QLED TV using a 2019 NVIDA Shield Pro. The Arcana converts Dolby Vision signals from LLDV (or is it LDV) sources into a compatible signal for use with non-Dolby compatible TVs. Refer to HDFury's website for additional details. Only issue is that the TV will not indicate a better signal than HDR. For example, Dolby Vision or HDR10+. This conversion will only work with LLDV sources and not regular DV sources. There are plenty of LLDV sources and LLDV is not limited to specific esoteric sources. In other words LLDV sources are quite common. For further info refer to the Arcana website.
In case you are using DIRECTIONAL Fiber optic HDMI cables - obviously the APPLE TV (for example) will be the SOURCE connection ....Both OUTPUTS of HD FURY ARCANAS will be SOURCE connection > The TV or PROJECTOR will be DISPLAY connection .... SONOS ARC will also be DISPLAY connection
Samsung choked at the pass after I purchased a Q80R 75" on a promise of an eArc firmware update. Samsung's retailer lied. Samsung had no intention of updating the ARC output to eArc. I had an HD Fury Vertex on a previous LG and it worked perfectly. So, I too bit the bullet (missed the 5% JONAH discount - ouch!) and placed an order. Thanks. Your video helped.
If you got the Sony A7000 sound bar. You don’t need the HDFury. The sound bar has a Earc HDMI for Audio that goes the Apple TV or similar device. Then another HDMI for the TV or projector. I got the HDFury but didn’t have to use it.

Hi, I recently purchased the q990b samsung soundbar and connected my apple tv tv4k to it. My tv has only an arc connection. So is it required that I purchase HDfury arcana for full capabilities of lossless sound. Samsung q990b has two hdmi inputs and one hdmi earc ourput.
Hi, I have a Philips oled805 TV with only an arc port. To connect to the TV, I used Sonos Arc + 2 one SL + 1 sub. So far, the built-in Netflix TV has performed admirably. I can play Dolby Atmos without any delay. However, when I connect my PS5 to the Philips TV and use the Dolby sound option in PS5, it shows dolby 5.1 but the sound has a 0.5 s delay, which I can clearly hear. When I switched it to PCM, there is no delay, but the soundbar was operating on a stereo model, which produces only two channels of sound, and the sound was very crisp. So I'm wondering if Aracna will fix the delay issue when I use PS5? Thanks
Great video. I recently got a Sonos arc. Got new tv earlier this year (Samsung) that doesn’t have eArc port. I’m not very tech savvy and was wondering, do I also need to have that tvpro box as well as the arcana or can I connect the arcana directly to my tv and Sonos arc?
Hi mate ,love your channel - very informative thanks so much. Quick question - Do i need to buy an apple TV to use this as intended or can i use this as the " go between" my TV & Sonos soundbar?? Thanks mate again..
What setting did you use for the Audio Selection on the arcana? I just got mine today and I’m not sure what to select. I have a earc soundbar and a Samsung series 8500 with just Arc. Thank you,Gary
Thanks for your video about this product. I’m still unclear if it will work in my situation and how it increases the number or HDMI ports available. I have an Apple TV, a non-ARC/eARV tv, and a Sonos ARC. My thought is that I can plug my Apple TV into one port on the device (HDMI In) and then coming out the other end HDMI Out got to the TV and eARC goes to Sonos ARC. Is that correct?
I dont quite understand whether this device can solve my problem. I have a smart TV with only 3 ARC ports (NO eARC), and a sonos arc soundbar with an earc input. I want losless audio from my TV to my soundbar, and I dont want any external device like a ps5 or a receiver or cd player etc. If I connect my tv's arc port to my soundbar, everything works fine and i can get the compressed version of dolby atmos from streaming services etc, but i cannot get FULLHD losless audio from my tvs internal storage to my soundbar, because my tv ofcourse only outputs through an ARC hdmi port. My question is: If i connect the ARC port of my TV to this device, and then connect the device to the earc input of my soundbar. And then play a file that has full HD losless audio from my tv's internal storage, will it output the losless audio to my soundbar? Or is this device only usable with an 'external source', like a ps5 etc?
I can't belive that I have not come across this video ages ago... I got unlucky buying an ARC TV at the end of 2019 and I have been trying to output Atmos ever since... I hope this will solve it!
What if I just want to use my tv and sonos arc (without an external source)...how would the connection work? I am just interested to use the app (such as Tidal) on my android tv (BRAVIA x900f) and output ATMOS to Sonos ARc

So, using the splitter its only possible to have the sound with the arc? Or its possible to shutdown the arc and use the speakers of the tv without disconnect the splitter? For example stream Musik to the arc using airplay 2 from iPhone AND watching any fitness tutorial on the tv?
I was referring to eARC incompatabily with most products from Sound United which I believe should be boycotted as I will. I've been had by Denon twice. I hope others will follow.
Why would I need this? I can plug my Apple TV directly into my Atmos capable sound bar (which sends the video to the TV via ARC). Been doing this for years. What would this product add?
Do the projector/tv need to be a 4K tv to get Dolby atmos together with the hd fury arcana ? I have a projector in Full hd in my bedroom. I use appletv 4k and Watch Disney plus atmos movies. I Will Soon get a arcana and need a answer to this. The projector has an ”Arc” hdmi port

This is great. Been on the fence for a new soundbar as my last one of 7 years finally died. Been doing much reviews and came across your in-depth videos and with this device alone, I'm ok with spending the additional funds for proper sound. Just upgraded my TV in the last 2 years and don't plan on upgrading again for awhile. You definitely need to reach out to HDFURYARCANA for some sponsorship. Would definitely like a HDFURY for set-up on TV's and Soundbars alike. Thanks again for the great reviews!
Will this solve my issue with the Bose 900 and a 4K Projector? I can connect the Arcana wnd split oudio via earc to the bose and send video via the HDMI to the Projector? I use an ApplTV 4K as my source Thanks
Hello, sorry for my English.. If I connect a sonos arc to my TV lg c8 which is dolby atmos ( with hdmi arc, not e-arc), can I have dolby atmos from a fire stick 4k max, or do I need this hdfury arcana?
I have a similar variation of this problem but no sonos involved and wondering if this HD fury unit would help or what the issue is... My late 2016 Samsung 4K KU6300 tv has only 1 HDR input on HDMI 1 but ARC to my receiver is HDMI 3. All my devices support 4k HDR & atmos (Denon AVR-X3600H, Apple TV 4K & Samsung 9500 Blu-ray). All worked smooth until recently setting up the Apple TV 4K where I noticed I can either get simple reliable functionality limited by arc specs or kinda buggy full spec HDR/atmos but not both. Also my Denon room calibration settings often get switched off /reset to default by the Apple TV 4K. I’ve read all the manuals/ mfr websites, how to videos etc and wanted some feedback before dropping $200 on an adapter. Thanks.
I plan to use this with my AppleTV, Sonos Arc and Sony A8G (only one ARC HDMI input). I am curious if i can still use the other TV input and it will still pass the Arcana and sound going out to Sonos ARC. Or do I need to get a splitter between my Apple TV and TIVO box going to my other HDMI TV input?
@@Cheese-Head HDFury is great about updates. Seem to release an update for each of their products At least once a month, if not twice. They will fix any reported issues. My optoma p1 had some dropout issues. I got the key to get hd audio(true HD and DTS MA) to my non arc receiver. Even with its minimal EDID management it solved all my dropout issues. I then started reading about the diva and once I found out you can essentially get Dolby Vision or HDR+ on an HDR10 display I was sold. Essentially it tricks the player, in my case the new Nvidia shield pro, into thinking our display can do Dolby Vision. The Diva then remaps the color tones to HDR10 in sub 1 milliseconds. You can really notice the difference. That is what that LLDV setting does. Not sure how much control you have on it with the arcana. With the diva you can inject your own HDR metadata for a better picture for both HDR and Dolby Vision. Here is how often they release updates. Go to downloads and you will see what I mean. www.hdfury.com/product/4k-diva-18gbps/

Hi, I have an HDMI-ARC Switchbox with 3 inputs and one output to TV and one to the sonos arc. But the thing that annoys me is that when I play Spotify and then want to switch to watching TV, the sound doesn't switch to TV mode. When I manually set it to TV in the sonos app, I get an error that there is no arc connection In the settings menu I turned on the settings to overrule the TV. How's this works with the Hdfury Arcana?
Help. ..Help... Thanks for this video. I bought lg oled 55c8pu and lg skc9 soundbar, both products without EARC , Now can't get Atmos. Is this product will solve my problem? If it does, do i need 1 adapter or 2 ? Please help me out. Thanks.
Thank you for this. My LG TV is only hdmi arc and it doesn't output DTS audio via hdmi arc. When a DTS audio is input to the TV it will output PCM 2.0 audio to arc. I need something like this for my soundbar.
Thanks for concise and well done video. Wondering if you can answer a question for me: My TV (Samsung Frame) has an HDMI eARC port and my sound bar (Yamaha YAS-209) only an HDMI ARC port, can the Arcana supply eARC to sound bar?
Lets say I have a TV that has 4 HDMI ports. - HDMI 1 & 2 are HDMI 2.1 - HDMI 2 is eARC - HDMI 3 & 4 are HDMI 2.0 I want to use the two HDMI 2.1 ports for the next gen gaming console (XBOX Series X and PS5) but I also want to own and use Sonos Arc Sound Bar as well. How do I use HDFury Arcana to make sure I can get the audio from the Gaming Consoles as well? Or is that even possible? Any Advice is appreciated. Thanks
I just bought a JBL bar "9.1" sound bar system. I have a sony bravia 65x750h tv manufactured in 2016. it does not have an eARC connection. My question is will i even be able to use the dolby atmos features of the JBL bar 9 with this tv. I understand that arc can do compressed dolby atmos audio but what i dont know if my TV will send the signal or work in a way where the new soundbar actually presents a form of dolby atmos. Also if not then will this hdfury arcana you are talking about remedy the situation?

@@ferfmedia4255 Yes it worked. I have the exact same tv and have setup Arcana exactly like how it’s setup in this video. It truly works every time. Sometimes though the sound starts a few seconds late when starting a new video. But there are no lip sync issues. Sound is awesome 😎

Hello! Had a question. Why cant a regular AVR be used to fo the same thing? Dont AVR's come with an eARC where i can then connect my amazon fire cube to the AVR, have the video go to the projector and have the audio go through the eARC from theAVR to the sonos? What am i missing?
Not everyone has had a great experience with the HDFury Arcana. I wasted a day or so of my time trying to get it to work with a computer or my Xbox Series X (I really wanted it for the latter). I'm using a 43" AORUS 4K UHD HDR monitor. I had it working with the Sonos briefly but then the audio stopped working. So my suggestion is to think carefully about your use case before spending your money on one of these. Caveat emptor with this thing.
Hi, I have a question, I own a Sony 95H TV. When I play Atmos content on Amazon Prime on my Echo Studio (Atmos-enabled) via my FireTV Stick 4k, my TV identifies the audio signal as Dolby Audio - DD+ although the selected audio stream is Dolby Atmos in Prime Video. I am a bit confused as to which one is true? any opinion?
So i just purchased the Sonos ARC. A lot of my movies in Plex are DTS 5.1. I understand that the ARC does not support DTS but I thought Plex would transcode it to a playable format (it doesn’t). Will the HDFury help with that or will i need to decode my movies in a different audio format?
My 2016 Samsung KS8500 tv's spec says DD+ but I don't get atmos with the native Netflix app (shows HDR 5.1) on the Sonos Arc (connected to the hdmi arc port). Any thoughts on how to debug this? I've exhausted all options so far and haven't had any luck. 😐

@@FragBoyStewie just wanted to follow up...got the HD Fury Arcana and happy to report that it works! Getting Atmos with the combo of this Samsung TV and an Apple TV 4K.
I have an old Sony receiver that does not support Atmos. It is a 7.2. It is a great receiver. Is there any way to decode the Atmos signal and then use my rear surround speakers as height speakers?
So I'm looking at this because I just did one fun upgrade. I'll explain the upgrade first lol. I've been remodeling my house for a while now, and I decided to hookup the speakers I purchase for it a while back. Nice Yamaha speakers, including in-ceiling speakers for atmos. Anyone, I just picked myself a Denon receiver. I originally got the "4k passthrough"model, but realized I can't pass through to my 1440p @ 144hz display with it...so I went back and got the 8k model, which has HDMI 2.1. "Surely that'll work". Fun fact, it doesn't lol. So now I'm stuck in limbo. I set this up, quite honestly, to play some sweet games with Atmos on the laptop AND I wanted to not limit myself to "1080p @ 60fps". Gaming, contrary to film and cinema, is more prone to "high FPS" and "higher resolution" (particularly, 1440p is the sweet spot...i'm on a 32" curved display. Set it up in this room for fun before I start doing more remodeling). Anyway, after some digging and looking, I found out about eARC and ARC, which I never knew existed. Color me crazy, but I never 'cared' about sound bars, I would just go purchase a nice receiver and some independant cabinet speakers instead. So I never realized that they 'eventually' figured out a way that would separate audio from video of HDMI like back in the RCA days. Originally, I was trying to find some sort of USB to Optical converter, but that doesn't pass Atmos, so that's irrelevant to me. Then I stumbled upon this device. This device has been one for the past week I've been debating on grabbing, but it's $200 for basically an HDMI splitter. Expensive, but realistically there isn't anything out that will do 1440p @ 120-144hz. So I'm sort of...in limbo lol. I'd "BIte the bullet" and pickup the 4k display right now (Only need 60hz for video anyway) BUT then I can't, at all, game on it...because this laptop would be crippled at that resolution lol. So yeah. Thanks for this review. I'll be utilizing it to determine if I should be grabbing this soon! :) May utilize it in the office when my remodel is finished, provided that I'll be utilizing this 1440p display and this means I "could" utilize an older receiver of mine that also, apparently, has an ARC HDMI port on it. Hopefully it's backwards compatible lol.

The Arcana makes lip syncing/syncing in general perfect between any components and your tv/Sonos Arc?
Thank you so much! You saved my 2019 Samsung Q90R TV!
Hi, which HDMI cable are you suggesting for arcana setup??thanks
If you got the Sony A7000 sound bar. You don’t need the HDFury. The sound bar has a Earc HDMI for Audio that goes the Apple TV or similar device. Then another HDMI for the TV or projector. I got the HDFury but didn’t have to use it.
How can I use this as a passthrough? I want to connect my sound bar to the HDFury, then the Fury to the TV. Which ports do I use?
I have only Arc conectipn and DD+ is not supported on my LG OLED (EG9100). Will Dolby Atmos will still work with this?
I watched your video this past Tuesday and I placed my order for the HDFury Arcana. I just received today from Tiawain via DHL. Total spent $231.00
I have Sonos Arc, Sub Gen 2 & Ones SL
I connected Arcana and it’s amazing WOW
Instead of buying a TV with Earc ( $4k plus) this just amazing.
Im done spending money with this system and Arcana you can’t go wrong
😎
Hi, do you have the website where you purchased this from please?
Backorder till December

Yes but what is the website you got it from?
Right from HDFury site

That's correct!
Well explained, answerd a lot of questions.sound difference ,noticeable worth it.?maybe not so great on samsung 990c.?
Will hd fury arcana work with other soundbars?
I can't belive that I have not come across this video ages ago... I got unlucky buying an ARC TV at the end of 2019 and I have been trying to output Atmos ever since... I hope this will solve it!
What if I just want to use my tv and sonos arc (without an external source)...how would the connection work?
I am just interested to use the app (such as Tidal) on my android tv (BRAVIA x900f) and output ATMOS to Sonos ARc
I have the Same question..
Subscribed, Bought it, used the code. Thanks
Awesome, thank you very much for the support!
May I ask you 2 questions:
1) does the HDFury text at the bottom of the tv screen go away after a little bit?
2) did you have to update the HDFury firmware? My MacBook won’t bring it up when I connect them together. Is it really necessary or can I just plug and play without updating? (Waiting on my soundbar to arrive) - Sonos ARC
Hi, my Samsung tv doesn’t have EArc only Arc. I have purchased the Arcana which has resolved lip sync issue with my Sonos Beam 2. Should I be getting Dolby Atmos as I only seem to receive Dolby Digital Plus 5.1? Do I need to go into the Arcana settings to change anything? Thanks
So, using the splitter its only possible to have the sound with the arc?
Or its possible to shutdown the arc and use the speakers of the tv without disconnect the splitter?
For example stream Musik to the arc using airplay 2 from iPhone AND watching any fitness tutorial on the tv?
But it says HDMI 2.0 which is 18Gbps not HDMI 2.1 which is 48Gbps, im confused
I have a 2016 samsung ks8000. Should I still buy a sonos arc even though my tv isn't compatible with Dolby atmos and no e arc?
Man, you just made my year! Thanks so much!
I was referring to eARC incompatabily with most products from Sound United which I believe should be boycotted as I will. I've been had by Denon twice. I hope others will follow.
Any receiver without eARC is not capable of supplying anything more than compressed 5.1
Firmware updates are not possible when it's a hardware issue, so don't believe any corporate bs about Atmos compatability without eARC outputs
Why would I need this? I can plug my Apple TV directly into my Atmos capable sound bar (which sends the video to the TV via ARC). Been doing this for years. What would this product add?
Thank you so much for this video
Can I use the arcana just to connect my tv and Sonos arc? Or do I have to get an apple tv4k?
Do the projector/tv need to be a 4K tv to get Dolby atmos together with the hd fury arcana ?
I have a projector in Full hd in my bedroom. I use appletv 4k and Watch Disney plus atmos movies. I Will Soon get a arcana and need a answer to this.
The projector has an ”Arc” hdmi port
Is there any alternative in 2022? Does it work with all soundbars that has a ARC input (eg Bose TV speaker soundbar)
I have a TV with 2 Ultra HD HDMI ports. Can I Connect the Arcana HDMi out cable also to my Non Ultra HD HDMi ports so that the device calculating it into 4K/HDR?
Thanks Jonah! Just purchased one
I’m not getting any audio being passed back from the TV if I’m just watching the TV only. Can you assist?

Hi, I am trying to connect my tv to Sonos arc by using a pc. How can I go about this. My tv only has arc hdmi. And my pc is connect to tv. How can I use my pc to TVs to Sonos arc. Please kindly advise.
Great video and thanks for sharing with us.
I got one question: Are you able to use the TV remote to control the soundbar with your arrangement?
Absolutely! CEC still works perfectly fine with this setup.
For $199 you can happily upgrade your TV.
I have a Samsung q80r soundbar thst is capable for earc but my Samsung q80r does not have earc, will the hdmi fury work for me?
Thanks.
I don’t have the nvidea pro. Can I plug into my Panasonic ub820 Blu Ray player? And should I plug into the audio or the regular hdmi?
Thank you . Is the Arcana the only thing you can use with Sonos arc? What about the VERTEX? Is that the same thing as the Arcana?
I’d love to see a response to this
I plan to use this with my AppleTV, Sonos Arc and Sony A8G (only one ARC HDMI input). I am curious if i can still use the other TV input and it will still pass the Arcana and sound going out to Sonos ARC. Or do I need to get a splitter between my Apple TV and TIVO box going to my other HDMI TV input?
Download the latest firmware - resolved all issues I had. Mainly sound cutting out when swapping channels
Do you just download it onto a usb stick and plug it into the unit and it auto updates?

I just want to know something. I have the lg c9 oled , who has earc Also I have the apple tv 4k. If I am correct, what’s you are saying is that If I use the arcana and play atmos content on Netflix on apple tv4k the audio should be dolby atmos true hd rather than dolby atmos or dolby digital plus?
I have an arc connection from my 65 hisense that does 5.1 digital but not atmos on my Sonos arc, would this decode atmos?
Hi,
I have an HDMI-ARC Switchbox with 3 inputs and one output to TV and one to the sonos arc.
But the thing that annoys me is that when I play Spotify and then want to switch to watching TV, the sound doesn't switch to TV mode.
When I manually set it to TV in the sonos app, I get an error that there is no arc connection
In the settings menu I turned on the settings to overrule the TV. How's this works with the Hdfury Arcana?
Hi Jonah, I have a question. Beside connect the HDFury Arcana to the Sonos ArcSystem, can I connect the HDFury to any Dolby Atoms A/V receiver?
Help. ..Help...
Thanks for this video.
I bought lg oled 55c8pu and lg skc9 soundbar, both products without EARC , Now can't get Atmos. Is this product will solve my problem? If it does, do i need 1 adapter or 2 ? Please help me out. Thanks.
Can I use a Samsung Q9FN TV with the Arcana and can use the apps on the TV to get Atmos audio?
Thank you for your video. Should I connect the fury to the tv or cable box?
Seems a look cool product. I checked, the price is a good deal for what it does. Thanks for the video.
Did you manage to find a fix for the TV speaker active problem? thanks
Will this work with other soundbars? Thinking to get the samsung q950A...i have a samsung tv with non earc...q8fn and nvidia shields pro
Lets say I have a TV that has 4 HDMI ports.
- HDMI 1 & 2 are HDMI 2.1
- HDMI 2 is eARC
- HDMI 3 & 4 are HDMI 2.0
I want to use the two HDMI 2.1 ports for the next gen gaming console (XBOX Series X and PS5) but I also want to own and use Sonos Arc Sound Bar as well.
How do I use HDFury Arcana to make sure I can get the audio from the Gaming Consoles as well? Or is that even possible?
Any Advice is appreciated.
Thanks
I wonder can this work with new Apple TV 4K return channel to use my connected HomePod? my tv don't have arc/earc..

Thank you, Jonah, for this review! I have a Samsung 2016 KS8000 with a Sonos Arc, and despite the TV specs saying it has DD+ (and not getting Atmos with any streaming app), I bit the bullet and bought the HD Fury (thanks for the discount code!). I'll let you know if it solves my problem!
Did it worked, im waitinh for the arc to arrive
@@ferfmedia4255 Yes it worked. I have the exact same tv and have setup Arcana exactly like how it’s setup in this video. It truly works every time. Sometimes though the sound starts a few seconds late when starting a new video. But there are no lip sync issues. Sound is awesome 😎
I recently installed a 7.2.6 Home Theater ...he had a 85 inch Samsung TV for display and the CEC (HDMI control ) was causing some major problems - such as you described - turn d off CEC and everything was working fine after that
I had Atmos for a day. Now I can’t get now matter what I do.
I have a similar Samsung TV (KS8000)....and the same problem as you. I found this on the Sonos community support site, and there's a post from @ewolkoff that recommends HDFury Arcana as the solution. en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/samsung-ks8000-with-sonos-arc-no-dolby-digital-plus-signal-6842911

Jonah, do I only need ONE HDMI 2.1 ultra high speed cable going from the Arcana eARC port to my JBL 9.1 soundbar eARC?
Hopefully it's backwards compatible lol.
samsung tv does not have earc , only arc. my soundbar is the nakamichi 9.2.4 , only arc. can i still get earc audio if i use HdFury as my tv and soundbar has only arc.
Why am I NOT getting audio from my JBL 9.1 soundbar when I plug my Nvidia Shield tv directly into the Arcana? Audio DOES work if I put it back into my TCL tv. AND does it make a difference if I just us my Roku remote instead of going directly through my Nvidia Shield. I have the cannister model Shield.
Hi how does the shield perform with the arc and arcana HD fury? I have the shield and Sonos arc, sub 2 play 1s and was considering getting the HD fury.. Was wondering if it's worth the money and hassle..
Hi...I need a clarification...I use a sony A8g Oled tv 55 inch 2019 model....I usually use the usb port on tv to attach a external drive with movies to play them or use streaming service....I had not used external audio or home theatre systems so far...I am planning to purchase samsung q950a sound bar which has got many rave reviews...I was told by my friends that the A8g has only ARC and no eARC and hence I might not be able to get the Dolby effect...Is it true...if so what to do... kindly help....
It is easy to turn off the on screen display in the settings. The Dolby vision is a plus as well.
Hi Jonah, I got the Fury but Im wondering on setup. I can get audio when i use my SHIELD thats connected to my FURY. But when I want to watch regular TV I don't get audio out from my SONOS ARC is there a setting that I need to change to allow this. Thanks for all your helpful videos to date.
