Why the hell does Mayweather glorify his undefeated career and act like he the only fighter to retire on top and undefeated where this guy did the same just wanted to mention that, but Roy Jones Jr will always be P4P GOAT
Mayweather wouldn't have retired undefeated if he fought the best during the 80's and 90's and he always seemed to fight boxers past their best or not at their best.
Let's try to be honest and fair to both men. Both men, as world class fighters, had past their prime. Some fighters age faster than others depending on how many wars that they have been in or how they took care of their body between fights. It was a match between two aging fighters. That night, Joe was the better fighter.

Jones was definitely a shell of his former self, but Calzaghe was a bad boy too. Would have be great to see those two go at it a couple of years earlier.
roy was a shot fighter
Calzaghe was talking big ish but Roy was already done. In a prime for prime, Calzaghe gets washed.
Dispute Jones being past his prime, he couldn’t knock him out. SMH 🤦🏾♂️
We will not tolerate any Jones disrespect.
90s RJ would’ve won by the 6th round 💪🏽
Don’t think so
@@lestercombs1871you don’t watch boxing that’s why
An absolute tattooing
Calzaghe had a style that was very difficult to prepare for: Aggressive fighter with tremendous hand speed and stamina from a southpaw stance. Due to nagging hand injury issues Instead of relying on power he instead went to just rain punches on you and take the decision on points .
roy had tremendous hand speed. his punches looked alot flashier than Joe's
@@spenser6353 no question ,prime Roy was electrifying and I think had they fought years earlier I would have taken Roy for sure .
No disrespect but Calzaghe could beat prime Jones Jr or anyone in the world in his day, superb boxer and genuine legend, shut up marks 😂😂😂😂😢😢
🤣🤣🤣
Lmbo
Why the hell does Mayweather glorify his undefeated career and act like he the only fighter to retire on top and undefeated where this guy did the same just wanted to mention that, but Roy Jones Jr will always be P4P GOAT
Mayweather wouldn't have retired undefeated if he fought the best during the 80's and 90's and he always seemed to fight boxers past their best or not at their best.
If the Welsh dude had some horsepower behind his speed and accuracy, he'd beat a lot of heavyweights
he damaged his hands and was often fighting injured
@@MultiShampain Joe would get knocked out by heavyweights. he got dropped by two old men.
Let's try to be honest and fair to both men. Both men, as world class fighters, had past their prime. Some fighters age faster than others depending on how many wars that they have been in or how they took care of their body between fights. It was a match between two aging fighters. That night, Joe was the better fighter.
Roy just effed with the wrong one
Roy Jones did this to his opponents. He deserved the same back. I like him now, but he was way too cocky.
It's funny because he actually knocks Joe down.. He was too small no power and not fast enough. That meant he was never fast enough
Think they own it all
Ive said it before and ill say it again. Roy is an athlete with some boxing skills and not a boxer who is athletic! Roy beat the breaks off cats more due to his speed and power. Once cats started to match his speed with better boxing skills, he didn't want to fight them. Roy went to bouce around the weight classes looking for bums with belts to fight in order to pad his record.
After joe jones beat lacy and a few other good fighters
And no even knows who calzaghe is?
nonsense 😂😂😂😂
Bullshit. Any boxing fan who truly knows boxing know who Joe was.
Itd funny how many hate rjj. In his prime he was way above average putting it lightly. Ill never understand the hate.
Jones was pass his prime at this time. It would have have been a great fight before Jones went up to heavyweight and came back down. He was not the same fighter after getting heavyweight belt.
😂😂😂😂😂 Good shit
What made roy Jones great was his reflexs and clearly he didnt have those cat like reflexes....some fighter's just dont know when its time to leave and thats why taver knock him out that being said that dude didnt beat the real roy jones him nor taver
This should have been Jones' last fight. Sadly it wasn't and he took some awful needless punishment.
I often ponder what might have been if Roy had retired after his first fight with Tarver. People would be talking about him as if he was born on another planet!
@@BoxingAfterDarkironically guys like that who never really dodged a challenge are also the same guys who don’t know when, or even how, to hang em up. Evander comes to mind. Toney. Barkley. Ali. Duran. The list goes on. What made them formidable is the same stuff that kept them going
So true. and funny enough, most of them guys are my favourite fighters of all time! Sadly I feel most of the time, Money is the main motivator due to bad spending in their prime years!
He should have retired after beating john ruiz for the heavyweight title. He never should have went back to the light heavyweight division
He should have retired after the Ruiz fight. If he had, he'd be in the talks for P4P greatness.
you should change the title to “when joe confronted roy” 💀💀, cus roy didn’t confront joe for shit 💀💀
If Roy was in his prime, that first round would have been the last round for Calzaghe.
😂
Jones was just spam against Calzhage and would have been whenever they fought as Joe Calzhage would have been nearer his prime too..Joe was a class above ,Undefeated world Champion for over 10 years .brilliant guy .
When you start thinking who what got what before da fight
Miss you Max Kellerman !!
Great video !
Jones would never have beaten Calzaghe. His punch output was unmatched. Jones did not like applied pressure. In Calzhaghe’s case, an onslaught you can’t get away from.
How to beat the greatest in boxing become a southpaw
Like holmes vs ALI
Unsubstantiated rumors still haunt Joe's legacy
you're lying 😂
Jones was roided his whole career

That dudes punches were so cringe. Just swinging over and over. Lol. He just all talk.
Calzaghe vs canelo
Another of Roy's pointless fights post-prime. He was 5 years past his best! 40 years old! Benn, Eubank, Collins, Calzaghe all ducked him in the 90s. RJJ would've destroyed them all.
Joe was never a showboater, that's why he didn't get the recognition in America. You don't know what you are talking about
Calzaghe strike rounds by pitty pat punches. Jones was way past his prime.
Loved Calzaghe but Jones may be the best boxer I’ve ever seen
Prime jones would of beat calzaghe. And, i much as i respect joe, that show boating was tacky as hell
Calzhage would have destroyed Jones at any time .Jones was made for Calzhage who was a class above .Joe gave all who faced him a boxing lesson ,Jones was no different. And this with a damaged crumbling hand ..Which is why he retired Undefeated
Even though they were both humiliated by Joe, you have to give credit to Jones & Hopkins for eventually finding the courage to step up & face the ultimate test.
Ultimate test? Gtfoh
Roy quit.. lol
@@philipnickens8092 stop it bruh you know he wasn’t Roy
hopkins and roy were old. Hard to give joe full credit for those wins. he even got dropped by those two old guys
He barely beat a past prime Hopkins via split decision and Jones had been KOed 2x s
A split decision even though Joe was forced to chase him around the ring for 12 rounds. Hopkins wasn’t interested in engaging in a more open fight, as he knew full well he’d get his ass handed to him if he did - hometown officiating at it worst.
Joe was better than jones in his prime and as a human IMO. The man needed a good humbling exactly the way he did everyone else. Irony.
Prime calzaghe is better than a prime jones?
@@GDCDGC I think so.

Why didn't Colzaghe recieve the same amount of attention as Mayweather?
He fought a grand total of four times outside of the UK in his 46 fights. His resume is paper-thin at absolute best.

Roy was burnt
Calzaghe met Roy well past his prime. I wish Calzaghe had been 10yrs older

Difference in Age is only 3 years
What? They are like 2 years apart lmao
@armandomorelos2500 I guess I put prime Roy in a special elite category. I think most fans of the sport recognize his talents and style as unique and a once in a lifetime type thing. I don't think you can teach anyone to fight like he did. He was like ichiro was to hitting In baseball
JC stayed in Europe fighting his cousins until Bernard and Roy weathered many battles and then decides he wants to challenge them 🤣

Ive watched calzaghe get out timed and out smarted in both the jones and Hopkins fight, yall say he was out his prime years but joe never lost he definitely was still in his peak compared to jones nd Hopkins…joe also stayed over seas where jeff lacy had to come fight him…if you really think he could compare to a prime jones your delusional…before mayweather jones was the guy dominating boxing…if joe wanted to be considered great he would of had to go fight and beat jones at that time not after he’s been knocked out twice…Nigel benn himself said he was respectfully scared to fight jones but would still do it…don’t jump in mid way if you don’t know the full story behind it…calazaghe put his name the same bracket as jones and Hopkins as a all time great with these half credit victories nd i still think Hopkins beat him he literally slapped his way in hopes of winning on points while Hopkins hurt him multiple times
