    Great review Joey, I’ve watched it a few times since I ordered the exact sled for 2023 and I’m pumped. How did you wire the power for the sonar, and can you tell me the length of the ram mount arm that you used? I assume you just used a U-bolt base to attach to the handlebar riser? Thank you!

    • @Joey.T
      @Joey.T  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you 🙏, so basically I ran the power cord to my unit down the arm, and then to the left side of the machine( when sitting on machine left side) their is a negative and a positive. I just put attached the positive and negative to each of those ports that connect directly to the battery through the machine without having to fish a wire allllll the way to the rear. Worked fine and so far no blown fuses after 1000kms. Length of the Ram mount I believe is the 6inch arm, and is the 3/4inch ball. All it is a U bolt to a little piece of aluminum door hinge on the backside of the handlebar and use lock washers and your good to go!! Might need another person to help you but can be done by yourself also just might take some time.

It wasn’t exactly this pack, but it was a pack of like 1 inch hex nails and I screwed them into the pre drilled holes on the snowmobile track. Works amazing and grips the ice perfect. The track comes pre drilled with holes on the paddles so you can install easily yourself. Just have a tail lift for the sled and you can just install it easy, just don’t over screw them too deep. Hope this helps. Took me about an hour to install like 150-200 studs

      Personally I think the 24 would be too wide for what I need it to do, this sled is the perfect in between for fishing and trail riding, a 24inch track would be too much for what I do. Just my thought plus you’ll be paying a lot more for that wider track comparative to this.

    Joey T what's up!! Based on how much you fish Simcoe I'm assume you to be a Toronto native. I'm from Cambridge myself. I'm wondering why you prefer a sled over an ATV which can serve useful all year long? Based on my schedule, I aim to fish during week. Maybe I'll see you out there some time.

    • @Joey.T
      @Joey.T  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Born raised in the GTA, however I prefer a sled over ATV because I don’t do any summer activities that would need an atv such as hunting or off-roading.. I’m using my boat at that time. When winter comes I want a machine that will start in -40 without hesitation, and get my through the thickest of snow/slush. I’ve pulled out countless ATVs and UTVs due to slush conditions. Sleds move with less pound per sqft on the ice and snow, and floats ontop of snow better than an atv plowing through it and getting stuck. When it comes to pressure cracks ATVs usually front heavy and fall through, snowmobiles just glide right over as the power lifts the front allowing the skis to safely get over. In my opinion sleds are 100% the ice fishing way to go, however it is only used for winter use and you’ll lose that summer aspect if you hunt or off road activities. All depends what hobbies you like doing, ATVs are all around vehicles but will hinder during ice fishing (it’ll get the job done as it beats walking) but personally I’d never own an atv while ice fishing. Nope this helps

Does it engage nicely in low gear vs the 600 etec? Rarely ever get these things stuck out fishing and even run over lots of trees and here in northern ontario we have many feet of snow and rough conditions. I think overall the 600 etec is the better engine but can't beat the 900 ace overall for longevity when these things cost what they do. • @Joey.T
      @Joey.T  ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone has their confidence in machines. Knowing a couple buddies of mine in the yukon territories they run ski doo skandics, up to -60 weather and they start and run flawlessly, you also mentioned a 550 skandic which truly is a 2 stroke and not a 4 stroke machine to compare with the one displayed in the video, 2 strokes always have more issues, and arent reliable in the sense that they blow up more often, and the oil gums up the carbs after every season often than not. Hard to compete with that in terms of those northern provinces mostly running skidoo 4 strokes, however the VK is a great machine too, ive also drove on that prior to my purchase, only problem is i didnt like how versatile any of the compartments are, the availability to purchase anything is slim, and it didnt handle well in slush because the front suspension is alot lower to the ground allowing for slush and snow to pile up and then get stuck.

    • @Joey.T
      @Joey.T  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have 10 BRP skidoo dealers within 15 mins from my house and they have everything and anything i need for my skidoo. I can also trail ride with 4 clips i can take off everything including the seat and have a fully mobile trail sled, unlike the VK which is truly just a working sled, and then when it comes to slush i had to pull out 2 VK's (because my buddies have them) last year due to them getting stuck in deep snow/slush- the new skidoos have such high front clearance it never allows for any slush and snow to build up as a result it can never get stuck, it may bog down but never gets stuck (and ive been in some deeeeep snow and slush in the backlakes like almost 3ft of it and got out without a issue while towing) Both have pros and cons, personally i put alot of kms on the sled already and its a dream to ride. thats just my opinion when it came down to purchasing the sled based on my experience with both machines. Once again im not prostaff or sponsored, i just simply adding my two sense based on experience prior to my purchase.

      The 900 Ace is tested! BRP uses the same motor in the Can Am X3, Sea Doo, and their Can Am Ryker. Some of the 900 sleds have well over 30,000 miles and the rentals go 10,000 to 15,000 with zero issues. 600 and 900 Ace are two of the best motors out there. My 2015 Renegade 900 Ace has had zero issues and I’m still running the same plugs and belt. I groom 8 miles of trail ever weekend and I ride ice, dirt, slush, water, sand just about everything but snow! Lol. Zero issues.

    Can you carry extra fuel? 8:17

      Yes, you can add a jerry can to the top of your tub for extra fuel

      Or you can take the seat off and clip a linx Jerry can on.

    You are not too mechanically inclined eh. Liquid cooled and air cooled? Say what?

      Liquid cooled engine, but has an air radiator with a fan that kicks in to help cool off engine when it overheats. I’m not sponsored by ski doo so bare with my explanations just trying to be honest in the ways I’m trying to explain it. Needless to say haven’t overheated once all last season even runnning it on bare ice with no snow all over the lake 👍

      What mine was $19,500 and I added the front skid plate so $19,750. Price gouged me I guess
