  • Today we are joined by ‪@koleeberks‬ as we take a look at Catford Police Base (Tdp), 34 Aitken Rd, London SE6 3BG.
There is no FRZ so we take the DJI MINI 2 Drone up for a good look around this very hidden site.
We see lots of specialist vehicles and soon get approached by the Police.
We try our best to educate them about Drone Rules but we failed and we part company with a threat of, fly again and we will take it off you.
    Did we fly it again?
    Enjoy!
Thanks to @Carl & Alison Positive Audio Liverpool who donated the drone music for this video. To listen to the Music & Drone Footage only, see this Playlist - • DJ Audits / D.a.v.i.d....

1st class audit DJ & Kolee. Everything you both said was spot on. There was a lot that the police staff said that was wrong / rude / unprofessional / bullying / overbearing / "I know best" / tyranical. So much so that some of their comments were laugh out loud funny. EG the logic of "London is a congested area".
There's the ironic humour of her claiming that Kolee was being antagonistic when it was her and her gang members that interupted you when you were doing a perfectly legal activity and told you to stop. Under threat of robbing you of your valuable property.
This is one of those times when you made some serious points about the culture of the police, whilst doing it in an entertaining way.
Nice to see David beat Goliath in this video. With 2 men with cameras (including a flying toy camera) sending a tooled-up gang packing.

This video summed up perfectly the issue with policing in the UK. Not one officer, or officer impersonator, knew anything about the legislation, yet every one of them said at one point that you weren't allowed to do a, b, c, that it was against the law. Everyone thinks they know better, including you probably

    • @BasicCoverMan
      @BasicCoverMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

@@danielfrazie19 I’m not denying he was rude. He definitely has a different approach to DJ, but he was rude to someone whose opening words were "if your drone is filming Catford TDP, you can't do that" which is incorrect. She repeats that incorrect information a number of times and refuses to identify herself despite telling members of the public they are prohibited from doing something.
Of course she later admits she doesn’t know about air space, then feigns interest while showing far more interest in having a back and forth baiting competition with the other guy (Her conversation with DJ was just constant bait to the other guy) and then when it gets to DJ actually explaining to her she just starts looking around completely disinterested and repeating “Nnnkay”
The part that sums up policing in the UK is that multiple officers who don’t have the first clue about the law they are dealing with incorrectly tell two members of the public that they are not allowed to do what they are doing, instead of finding out first or having a friendly conversation. Every one of them here opens with an instruction that “you can’t do that” and it’s not unique to this video. Looking at DJ and AB as another example it’s amazing how many times they are filming in public and get advised by an officer that they’re not allowed to do that. There are real problems with adequate training for our police, it's understandable that police don't know everything about every law but it seems that someone somewhere is training officers in the art of "if you don't know whether or not something is illegal, don't bother finding out, just assume it is"
“I’m not sure if you’re allowed to do that and I’m going to find out” (or indeed saying nothing) would sound so much better than “You’re not allowed to do that” when such a statement is false and they're either speaking from ignorance or what they really mean is “I wish you weren’t allowed to do that”
I should also be clear I didn’t accuse her of being rude, I said she was gobby, which she was, she spends most of her time on camera talking but not really saying anything, having a petty back and forth with the other guy and then showing her complete disinterest in learning anything about the situation, preferring to remain in “you can’t do that” ignorance.

I agree. Every time you go out with another auditor (unless it's PJ) their style (shouty and mouthy, bordering on aggressive) clashes with yours (polite and restrained, but assertive). Why on earth do you do it? It's very off-putting. Have faith in your own abilities and don't antagonise the people you meet who are already stressed by you simply doing what you do.

I haven't researched enough to say exactly what the tolerance is, but I don't believe it would be as little as 0.1g on a weight of 250g. Might be worth getting that aspect checked as well.

@@williamblaney3316a PCSO is a Police Community Support Officer. Basically a civilian with a uniform that works alongside real police officers. They were introduced in the UK as a cheap option to bolster officer numbers. They wear a similar uniform, but have zero powers other than being able to stop cars and detain a person for 30 minutes until real police arrive. Other than that, they can do nothing more than any member of the general public. They carry no police equipment other than a notebook and radio. The PCSOs on the national rail network and London Underground do get trained and issued with proper handcuffs; due to the environment in which they work. As you can see in this video, they often have an over-inflated ego and try to trick unaware members of the public into thinking they are real police officers. And people see a uniform and are easily fooled, frankly. The PCSO in this video is trying to hide his real job and is wearing a uniform that would not have been issued to him. But such is the state of the Metropolitan Police in London currently that these unprofessional and shameless individuals get away with almost anything. There are hundreds of videos uploaded yearly that show the disgraceful state of UK police attitudes and behaviours. Th Met Police in London is currently under special measures from the government. PCSO's like this man do not help.

It's made to act as a visible deterrent to mislead criminals into a false sense of security.
It says metropolitan police on his florescent slip on. It says police staff on his chest patch and nothing to identify him as a PCSO. Too many forces are doing this up and down the UK.
