Engineered, developed and tested to specific requirements of our OEM clients. These pads utilize the best foams from around the world and the latest of testing and research and development including Chemical Guys own Self Centered backing system!
The Hexagon is not new to science, it's just new to detailing. Rather then try to reinvent some catchy gimmick, Chemical Guys invests in technology that through the years has simply been unbeatable and improves on it. Hex-Logic pads are designed to hold product and distribute it evenly over the surface of the pad, delivering a superior even finish that is hard to achieve with any other pad.
Nature selected the Hexagon for storage and designed it to be one of the most efficient holding cells. For example a mass of hexagonal wax cells built by honey bees in their nests to store honey and pollen. The bees build the comb with 6 sides for even distribution of product fast and effectively.

TLDR compound + polish combos (descending order of aggressiveness):
    Cut:
    Orange Hex: V32, V34, V36
    Green Hex: V36, V38
    Finish:
    White Hex: V38, P40
Blue Hex: glazes (Blacklight, EZ Creme, etc)
Black Hex: wax (Carnuba Creme, Butter Wet Wax, etc)
Red Hex: sealants (Jet Seal, Top Coat, etc)

If polishing is used to bring out shine and remove scratches, and there are harder pads that u can use, why do u use “compound”?
Also... is green and orange pads for compounding and the ones on the bottom for polishing?

Every Paintwork is Unique. Even in a specific manufacturer, the paint can differ from model to model. Every paintwork requires a "Test Spot" to ensure you have a proper combination. I would recommend to start with V36 and an orange pad as a baseline then adjust the pad or polish accordingly to achieve the desired results.

Than You. Enjoyed this because I learned something important about the quality, selection to use the right pads for the right resulting in an excellent car polish job. Using the right pad is important as you do not want the incorrectly use a pad not suitable for a particular and demanding job and ruin a car's paint worth several thousands of dollars. Its illuminating and enjoyed it very much.

    How about Scholl S20 ?
I have managed to remove pretty heavy swirl marks from careless washings in 3 passes.
Used wool pad but with wool been as human straight thin hairs.
Pad went dry in seconds. Every half of the pass had to reapply S20 and moisture pad with spray water.
Loved the results but process and amount of product made me cry. Tried medium firm thick none flexi pad but for noob me it was jumping in my hands and i could not get to hard to reach , places and bends ....
Could you please recommend some flexi pad for Scholl S20 1 step compound.
I need flexy so can press on the edge and get it flexing over bends.
    Please Kind Sir

I have a dark blue Audi A4 B8. What would you recommend for removing swirls and improving the shine and luster of the paint?

Thanks for checking out the video! I've included a link to the hex pad page of our site which outlines all the uses for the different polishing pads, I've also included a description of the orange pad which would be the best choice for you based on the amount of scratches and swirls in your car's paint.
Orange Medium-Heavy Cutting Pad-This firm, high density foam is ideal for scratch and defect removal. The orange foam offers the correction of a typical compounding pad while at the same time allowing the polishing ability of light cut foam pad. When used with heavier compounds it will remove moderate swirls and scratches with little or no haze. Its an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.
