Drizzle the sesame oil over the food, add the green onion, and then mix well. Taste and add salt and pepper to your preference.
I always eat the cabbage core raw as it tastes like a cross between a radish and a turnip. "What they're throwing away is a crunchy, radish-like vegetable part worth eating all on its own-raw or cooked. Like broccoli stalks and kale stems, a cabbage core is a delicious, nutritious ingredient when prepared well."
@@emgeespeaks8397 that is a great idea, thanks! I use a lot of “parts” that people tend to toss or compost but have never done so with cabbage core. This is a great idea!

For garlic you can also put in a jar and shake vigorously. Outside shell comes off. My first time to your channel. I like egg rolls but not the work to make them. I’m eager to see this. Thanks!
I have a very complicated heath history. Modern medicine is amazing!! But if I knew years ago what I know now, about the power of food in our bodies, I’d probably still have all my bones and organs, or at least at least lot more than I do 😎knowledge is power!
Just found your channel. Love the recipe and the nutritional information you are sharing. I am on a healthy eating plan which I just re-started. I agree with you that I wish I knew then what I know now about food and health. Although I wonder when I was younger if I would have accepted the info as readily have done after having cancer and seeing loved ones get really sick with diabetes, etc. Most doctors are still not educating their patients either, and are still prescribing medications that could be avoided with lifestyle changes. I am a new subscriber!
@@doreenhayden-cote553 welcome! And I totally agree. Doctors are taught to treat with pills, big pharma is a massive industry. Don’t get wrong, when we need them, we need them. But if we approached our diets and lifestyles from a healthier perspective, we’d likely need them much less! Although, I probably wouldn’t have cared much in my 20’s or early 30’s. With age comes wisdom.
1/2 the cabbage, 1 med bok Choi, bean sprouts, a med onion, couple celery stalks, serve over glass noodles. If you have left overs- wrap in egg roll wrappers the next day.
looks very good Kelly. A nice change from the fried roll when your watching carbs, but love the flavor combination. I happen to make this with beef or chicken and its wonderful if you have leftover pork from other dishes. I keep green onions on my window because they continue to keep growing as i love this, but can you please share with me your recipe of how to freeze dri them as you have shown Id like to do a batch. I throw away each time i trim them. thanks and nice to meet you. good luck with your channel .
Yes! Leftover protein would work great! Freeze drying requires a freeze dryer appliance. If you want to see that, I have a freeze dry playlist. But you can also dehydrate veggies in a dehydrator or even in your oven on the lowest setting. I’ve not tried it in the oven but I’m sure there are instructions available online: I found this one but haven’t tried it so I can’t endorse it www.alphafoodie.com/how-to-dry-green-onions/#

Hi! I recently subscribed. Today's recipe looks delicious, and I've always liked stirfry recipes, but I have a few questions about the meats. Maybe I was momentarily distracted and missed the information but: Question #1: Did you drain off any grease from the cooked ground meats? Question #2: What were the approximate lean/fat ratios/percentages in the meats (such as 75%/25% , 93%/7%, etc.)? I would greatly appreciate any information.
Hi! I did not drain off any grease from the meats.. I can’t tell you the fat percentage because I get my meat in bulk from a local farmer and it isn’t listed on the packaging. But there isn’t a lot of fat.
@@abcHomestead Thank you for your response, and it gives me some ideas for when I make it using prepackaged grocery store ground meats. I might even " go rogue" and use ground chicken with the ground pork sausage. It will probably be a week or two before I try out your interesting recipe, but I will let you know how it turned out and how I may have modified the ingredient list. I've got some nice celery growing in a planter on my condo balcony, and I also have some dehydrated shiitake mushroom slices in my pantry that might end up in the pan! Thanks again, Janet
This looks amazing and I can't wait to try making it but I'm wondering if I can add more veg to it, like bean sprouts and snow peas? I'm only part way thru your video but had to ask😁 I'm finishing watching it now. love from Ontario Canada
Yes, of course! That’s the best part of cooking from scratch. You get to add the ingredients you like! If you do, please share what you did and how it turned out.
Soy contains isoflavones, which are plant compounds with a similar structure to estrogen and there is thought to be a risk of recurrence in women with estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer. I haven’t read anything that proves this, but a lot of medical advise is to error on the side of caution and avoid soy.
Looks good. If you can’t eat cabbage what can you use in place of if? It looks great. I don’t eat pork anymore but I guess I could substitute chicken sausage. I just wish you had left out the part about how you purchase your meat. It’s the thought that bothers me. If I had a private chef I’d be vegetarian for sure. I just don’t know how to survive. Great video though. I just can’t eat cabbage anymore. The older I get the less my stomach can handle. Ugh! lol.
I just looked it up. Here's what I found. Bragg Liquid Aminos is made from non-GMO verified soybeans. It is the original formula, created by health pioneer, Paul C. Bragg. Not fermented; meaning containing no alcohol and gluten free.
The last time I ate an egg roll from the local asian takeout, I took one bite and had to remove it as it was kind of cold and greasy and the filling was so bland I couldn't stand it. I'm going to make this instead. I miss my Wok!
If I may make a suggestion it would appear nicer if you had a trash can on the left of you to swipe the trash in as you go and placed each ingredient in a bowl until needed
Yeah, the name is a bit of a misnomer. Egg rolls don’t typically have eggs in them. I think they might, or used to have, eggs in the wrapper dough that holds the filling. The filling is this recipe, without the wrapper, and not deep fried. And so it is called egg roll “in a bowl” and a healthier version overall.
Traditional egg rolls do not have eggs. The name fits here because it gives you an idea of what you're getting in the recipe. You could also use this filling in an egg roll wrapper if you are not keto or low carb. The name of this recipe is a perfect fit.
Ugh, I know... I sacrificed a lot of Vit C, Beta-carotene and fiber. But these carrots were at the end of their storage life and definitely needed a shave before use!

1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, chicken, other, or combo)

I don't like it cut up in Cole slaw but love it by it self.
@@lanetteprice7508 maybe you could try it with just shredded carrots and then serve it on raw cabbage leaves, burrito-ish style.
I save for soup or stews like potatoes

Food processor works great if you are a bit shaky to be able get consise in your cuts.
Yes, 100%. I didn’t want to have to wash the food processor after. But it does do a great job of nice thin cuts.

I had breast cancer. How does soy sauce effect tht?

Maybe shredded Brussels sprouts, celery, bok choy, or kohlrabi? I haven’t tried substituting the cabbage before.
I also avoid soy so i use coconut aminos. Aren't liquid aminos also soy based? I know I stay away from it for some reason and i thought it was the soy

You can buy shredded carrots
I’ve never seen anyone grate a carrot from the side.
I was going for longer shreds to match the long pieces of cabbage
If I may make a suggestion it would appear nicer if you had a trash can on the left of you to swipe the trash in as you go and placed each ingredient in a bowl until needed
I really appreciate the suggestion! I’m still figuring a lot out and feedback helps 👍

You added garlic to the meat then proceeded to pick up the grater and then called the freeze-dried ginger "garlic".
I know, opps. I did print “ginger” on the screen since I didn’t catch that until editing.
